WOW!!
You need one of those mini cordless jackhammers. Those large rocks have amazing stuff in them. Wow! Wish we had stuff like that here in Alberta. Someday I will have to do a loooong road trip to rockhound along the great lakes.
Same here! I’ve found some alright agates through the NSR but nothing as crazy as this.
Thomsonite is very rare, and large pieces are almost nonexistent.good day at the beach Taylor.😎
Heck yeah it was!
So beautiful. Not much more you can say about it. Just wow. That would be awesome to find and polish up some. Great finds.

Absolutely beautiful! ... now to go see if you returned:) thanks for introducing this stone to me!
What a great way to start my Friday! Thomsonite is so beautiful. It reminds me of wavellite. Thank you again for teaching me something new and for putting a smile on my face. Big love from California!
Is wavellite also considered a zeolite? I've seen some awesome specimens of it.
Heck yes! Go back with a chisel! Enjoyed this video?!?!??! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Happy Agate Dad Friday!
I plan to, hoping to before the snow flies! Let’s be real though… I’ll do it even if it’s snowing lol 🤪
That is beautiful!

I am in love with Thomsonite, really appreciate your video's!
WOW. I have some special pets. I thought they were just pretty rocks. Love your channel.
I call them pets coz I'm allergic to real pets.
Those are beautiful! 🥰 Yes, you should definitely go back with a chisel. 👍🏼
That was and is awesome
WOW!!!! Taylor you are just full of surprises! The specimens you found were stunning! I know have something else to look for when I return to Lake Superior next summer! Thank you for another great video and showing me something new! Have a great weekend!

Great piece. You have done well! We are impressed and happy for you. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
Thanks! Same to you!
Awesome finds!
That is really beautiful! I can't wait to see you extract it from the host rock.
That was a great video! First off, I loved the B roll footage at the beginning and throughout the video. Really nice stuff. I also agree with Thomas that you need to polish that piece at 3:50. I wouldn't be surprised if that was your best find. Did I mention that I liked this video? Oh my gosh!
Hahaha thank you Sir!!
Those specimens are crazy beautiful!! 🎉Congrats Taylor😃
wow wow, that pink/orange one with green inside, and so many, b e u t i f u l !!!
Hey that was fun!
Glad you enjoyed!!
You scored! Nice job, T.
Your closed ups at the end are FABULOUS!!! BEAUTIFUL
Thanks!!
Wow! Beautiful video and gorgeous rocks. I have never seen Thompsonite. No wonder you sought it. I wish you more nice weather.
I hope you chilled out some of the pieces you found. The pattern reminds me of those little paper umbrellas in some drinks.
Very pretty! I was unfamiliar with this beauty, thanks for sharing!
Great video Taylor! That sure does look like fun! You should absolutely polish that piece that you found at around 3:55
Heck yeah bud!
Great video! I miss seeing the fall colors on Lake Superior!
I realize this is two years old, but still, how very cool!
Can't wait for the thompsonite polishing video.
What awesome treasures! I love looking for Thomsonite when I’m up North! Have only found a few small pieces but I love it.
It’s so beautiful!
@@AgateDad yes it is! My wife is hooked on it. I had to buy her a ring when we were up there earlier this month!
Wow! Some amazing finds there. We're off looking for Northumberland agate this week, can't wait.
My wife and I love the North Shore. We don’t know much about rocks but we sure enjoy walking the beach’s looking for interesting pieces. We are from extreme SE Iowa so the rock exposures, Lake Superior water and the lands are beautiful.
It really is beautiful up here ❤️
nice stuff
huh, never seen this material before! Awesome find!
Everytime I watch your videos I want to take a trip to the beach!! I am a Michigander and am obsessed with rock hunting. My goal is to get a home closer to my favorite beaches so I can enjoy it al the time. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
What an awesome specimen, congrats on finding it!!!
Thanks so much!
Unbelievable. Keep.up the great work Taylor. I know this is from last year, but every once and a while I get some time to invest into our work (Agates etc) and watch some of the videos you've made throughout the years, really helps me with my work. Thanks T.
Wow Trevor that is AMAZING!!!
Who’s Trevor… he sounds nice.
Bro you never don't teach me something when I watch your amazing uploads and that big piece of thomsonite just wow you should definitely go back with more tools for more if you found your best piece in such a short time imagine what other bits are hidden as usual thanks for your knowledge brother
Holy moly are you kidding me!!! When you wet that I was like..."What!!!!!!" Seriously phenomenal 👏 😍 Wow!
Hi, Wonderful find!!! I took some awesome pic's from your stills. Thank you for sharing your findings!!! Take care!!!
So awesome!! Glad you can enjoy them too!
Very nice location finding rock
Heck yes go back. I'd have gone got the chisel and come right back. I would have hauled some of those big rocks also. Great video, thanks for sharing.
My favorite beach again! 😊 This year was a very unusual year in the finds there as the lake was so low especially this past Spring as it opened up parts of the shore that couldn’t get to previously.
I think I sent you a pic of one of my favorite pieces of Thomsonite earlier this year. It’s funny I have more luck with it than I do with Agates. Thanks for the video!
Very cool. I'd go back with a chisel for sure.
Oh my !.....that is some beautiful stuff....I have never seen any around here in Iowa but you can be sure I will look for it on my next trip to the U.P in Michigan.....happy hunting !
Omg, I spent 3 hrs. This past summer on the North Shore Thomsonite Beach area looking for some. I found a few pieces but nothing like you found. Thank you so much for this video and absolutely you should try to chisel some out of the big rock. Would love to see a video of you doing that. Also would love to see what you end up doing with the pieces you took home. Love watching you and scoopy on your adventures! You and Rob have turned me into a rock junkie. 🤣
👍👍
That stuff is beautiful, Taylor. Thanks for showing us something rare and wonderful. 💖🦅🦅
P. S. Always carry a rock hammer.
Probably will now 🤣
I have to check it out, looks like some nice specimens there.
Really cool stuff! Never found any myself. Definitely more rare than LSA for sure.
Awesome finds man love the sound of the scoop against the click clack of the rocks . I am so jealous your area looks perfect still no snow or harsh wind great day you had :) .
Glad you enjoyed
Super cool finds! I think I was there a day or so before or after you. I took a North Shore geology class and we visited the roadside outcrops on 61. Our instructor said on the road you cannot legally chisel the rock but anything that is already broken off is fair game. I got a couple neat chunks there but didnt have time to go down to that beach. (Not sure about chiseling rules down there)
That's a beautiful stone
Really nice, yes go back with a chisel, lol
🤘🤘
Wow! Such beautiful formations, specimens..Sending positive energy and Luck on your future hunts...☯️ LOVE and LIGHT Brother.Pgh Pa.
Wow. Amazing! Too bad you aren't Superman to take that beauty home with you....lol. I bet it's hard to walk away right?
Very hard! I recently hauled a 122lb stone home. First and last time I’ll do that lol
I saw some amazing specimens of thomsonite at moose lake agate days! the ones with green remind me of watermelon slice hahaha! you found some amazing pieces i would dream of finding!
The radial pattern reminds me of wavelite from Arkansas.
Interesting!
So pretty
That water is so clear but looks cold lol
It is very cold because it is so big and so deep, only warm enough to swim in shallow east facing places after a few days of soft east wind blows the surface water toward the west. Your fleet can go numb in 5 minutes on the hottest summer day. Yet there are people who go surfing the lake in a blizzard.
Petrified Carrots 🥕🥕😆🙌
I have found little pieces of this in the UP but nothing near this quality! These are amazing! I'm so jealous....
Definitely got lucky!
Our daughter bought a house up there! So I'll be there soon I hope! Great video. Beautiful up there right now! Heading to Louisiana to spend a few days rockhounding with gravel bar hopper! Super excited.
On the lake or in the Duluth area?!
@@AgateDad Ironwood area. Looks Beautiful.
I can see the lake in the drone pictures.
I am envious. Such a cool guy with great taste in music.
Hi Taylor, that was a pretty good hunt with some great results. I have a couple of zeolite crystals that I found at one of our locations they are no where near as stunning as those Thompsonite pieces, great looking material. I don’t know if you had a hammer & chisel in the back pack though if you go back it would be handy. Breaking off a couple of chunks off those boulder pieces might be pretty productive as they look like they have some existing cracks you might be able to take advantage of. 😂😂 I have to spend a bit less time checking out still shots on video when watching your content. Another good video mate to keep us Great material. I’m a bit behind on some of your videos I think, too many subscriptions. I might have to reduce, not yours though.
Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Now that is a mineral I would not be looking for and would not know how to identify, Thomsonite...
I've never seen that stuff before, very cool. You might want to bring a chisel back and try to get a thick seam of it.
I plan to 🤘🤘
I have to admit ,I have not heard of Thomsonite before watching this. How is it formed? What is its mineral/chemical make up and why is it so rare? Thanks for sharing. From UK.
I think you should go back and chisel some , you never know , you might find some thing rare . I have hit the subscribed button :)
Thanks Dawn!!
Beautiful stuff! I wonder if you cut some of the ones with pockets all through it if it would be like the galaxy stone?
We should try that
Looks like coral fossil inside stems all around color saved.
Now a days not a lot of people agate hunt but I do and I just got back from finding
I think more people agate hunt than ever before
