Mine has a tiny imperfection on the 12:00 edge of the dial that you can barely see even under direct light, and sent me the wrong strap color (although I prefer the black after receiving). They sent a partial refund that leaves me paying $45 total for the watch. One of my new favorites- the dial is stunning in person
@@moneymikz AliExpress didn't have a replacement option so I would have had to go through Sugess Warranty. I decided to just send it back for a refund unfortunately.
I got my Sugess Moonphase Master Chrono delivered to Germany on December 21st and it is running perfectly at -3 sec per day on the timegrapher. Everything is functional. I am stunned how much you get for around 200 € (bought via Amazon). No problems with the watch at all. - hope it stays that way. So I guess it is a matter of luck to get a good one - I am very sorry for those of you who had bad luck. Hope it turns out positive for you at last.
My steeldive1970 didn’t run so popped the back off and used a blower on the balance wheel and it started up straight away. Worth a punt. I got on of these and love it.
This is ST-25. Usually well made, the design is simple and reliable. Most likely easy repair, but who would like to pay to repair a brand new watch? It’s always a gamble. Not just Chinese watches, Russian as well and all sent from dealers abroad. Vostok watches are known for bad auto winders and the best way is to know how to fix them. Easier than returning them anyway. Never had one with serious issue, but MOST had minor issues. I ordered my Sugess just now, I hope I get a good one :)
Thanks! I decided to just return it, AliExpress didn't offer a replacement, only a refund. I'd have to go through Sugess Warranty and that sounds like a pain.
@@gadgetbeacon Correct decision I think, I have heard of someone who had a nightmare with Sugess warrany, sent it back to China, waited and it returned still not working 👎
I do believe they is no coating on the crystals because it tends to work against the dial. I have one of their Tourbillions with that dial and it has none.
@@gadgetbeacon I think in this case it's the model number, I've seen other Sugess watches have different S4xx numbers on the back that correspond to what aliexpress says is the model number. The metal is more likely SS316L, the "316L" on the back.
I bought a Sugess Seagull 1963. Had to send it back because it gained 10min per day after only two days running on my table. Your experience convinces to never buy from them again.
I have 3 different sugess watches all with different movements. Theyve all been running within the same tolerances of an NH35 and ive only had one of them have some minor qc issues with the threaded crown but overtime it has been fixing itself. I think its a just a matter of bad luck. Ppl complain about seiko's qc issues all the time but I have 5 seikos and only 1 is running out of spec (but i suspect that its due to exposure to magnetism during transport). All im saying is just do ur research, check out reviews, and do ur part as a consumer cuz this can happen with any brand, even tissot
Subscribed. Only because you asked nicely! 😂 Really though, can’t decide on this one or the Tourbillon be AESOP for about 100 more. I do like the moonphase with the adventurine dial on both. Not thrilled by the backing on the Aesop either. Looks like a spider or bug. How has this one held up?
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I really appreciate it! I have a new moon phase from AliExpress that I will be reviewing in the coming week or so, and this one actually runs!
That is really too bad, especially since you liked it, other that it does'nt run. That kind of sounds ironic, I got one pre owned in like new condition. So far it is keeping accurate time. I hope it will continue to do so because I love the dial also. I have a Seagull blue face chrono. It is also a beautiful watch & running well.
They’re watches are impressively made. The lack of anti reflective coating is sad. It is difficult to look at their watches because of the glare. A simple fix.
Yeah it moves very slowly. Taking photos of it each day for a week should help you see the changes. If it’s still not moving it may be an issue with the movement
The rotor has some machine finishing, sure, but it’s not of very high quality and to me they are just surface level touches to make the movement seem upscale at a glance. When you start to look more closely you can see it for what it is. I’ve seen Seiko make their movement just as nice if not nicer in some watches. Off the top of my head the presage cocktail time has a nicer rotor imo
Just got it today. It's running! The watch is audible while walking, but I like the sound it makes. Thanks for responding. It looks like a good watch. Funny thing, I didn't read the manual and set the calendar by rotating the time. It took me several minutes! ROFL then I read the manual and noticed there are tiny indents that are buttons to update the calendar and the moonphase. LOL @@gadgetbeacon
Do not buy from Sugess. They are one step up from a scam. Their quality control is horrible and their customer service is terrible. I was sent a broken watch twice and had to pay myself to ship it back both times. Currently they have my watch and are claiming they don't know anything about it. I'm out the cost of the watch and shipping twice and I don't think I'm ever getting a watch back from them this time...
Got mine, works fine. But of course - these are cheap watches. One can get a ‚dud’. Anyway - I have some Chinese watches and the quality of this Sugess is REMARKABLE. It’s not like other cheap Chinese watches I’ve seen. For $150 this watch in unbelievably well made.
I bought this watch and it came with a broken moonphase. Said fuck it and didn't give them another chance. That's just unacceptable to me for a watch company. Obviously bad QC
Check that moon phase again because this is a real moon phase indicator and it advances very slowly. Many people are confusing this with a day/night indicator that turns rapidly. I doubt that it's broken.

That close up was super cool to look at 🌌
You had me, wallet out, until it didn't run... 😢. Although the name and logo are off putting. Thanks for the review. New subscriber here.
Thanks for the sub! I wish I had a better experience with this watch! I’m looking forward to future sugess models with better QC.
100% agree... I'll pass on this one!
I just got mine in the mail, no issues and looks great. Best $115 you can spend on a watch.
Glad yours turned up in good working order! Enjoy!
@@gadgetbeaconsorry to hear you got a dud. Would love to see a follow up with their resolution

I'd definitely buy it for that price. However, everywhere I see them the price is $189-$199

I think it needs some sort of AR in this case
The rotor really is ridiculously noisy on mine
It's something I'm finding with all of the SeaGull automatic movements that I've handled unfortunately. Very, very noisy rotors.
S401 is a type of stainless steel.

Hi
Whats your wrist size?
Looks excellent but would i be able to make it work on my 6.5 inch wrist?
Definitely! My wrist is between 6"-6.25" but probably closer to 6". I think it wears great on me and would look much better on a 6.5" wrist
look stunning
S401 is the model number.

It is a huge shame especially when they go to the trouble of making a dial like this
You have to pull out the crown to set date, moonphase
How the moon moves, is it each day ?
It follows the cycle of the moon throughout its various phases, so it is always moving 🌕 🌖 🌙
