Something else for folks interested in this watch, I've seen on forums several times, people say the swan neck version forces them to regulate the movement before it's sent out so you'll typically get a much more accurate watch by paying extra for it. It has the added benefit that you yourself can regulate it at home VERY easily if needed, the other one is much harder.
I was just at their web site. They offer more than 50 watches with two movements: standard or higher accuracy. They offer chronographs and some with moon phase sub-dials. This is a great looking brand. I found this channel in my search for good mechanical watches. This brand should NOT be overlooked. By the way, many of these watches can be had through Amazon, for about the same price. Great video and thanks for the lead. Cheers.
I bought on one of these in the Ali Express sale at the end of March and it is amazing. I paid £95 GBP. I have two watches now with ST Movements, and they are a joy to behold, they are so beautiful. If you can get one on offer, then I suggest that you do so. The other think with this watch is that is works with so many strap designs and strap colours.
I bought this as some cheap fun to chop and change my box of straps. Like a lot of people I have an abundance of 20mm straps (mostly unworn) that I've bought for a specific watch then never used, or used for a bit then went back to the OEM strap or bracelet. I wanted to give that box of straps a purpose. This thing is a strap monster. The orange rubber strap I can confirm is outstanding, so comfortable and flexible. I've had this on various rubber straps, black, grey, yellow. Also had it on green suede, black leather, various blue straps from light blue right through to navy, different variations of brown - it works with everything. Even stuck it on a burgundy Erika's original and thought this would never work and it does. Somehow that mix of yellow/cream dial, the orange and yellow hands plus the black ties it in with absolutely anything. There's always some detail or colour on the dial to make any strap look like it is meant for it.
These movements are are a bit fragile, as were the Swiss Venus calibre they are derived from. As a time keeper it's fine, and nearly all problems arise around the chronograph. As a rule of thumb, use it as an ordinary time keeper and if you must use the chronograph, make sure when you reset it that the chronograph seconds hand is on or near the 12 o'clock position to minimise shock to the movement, which is what tends to cause problems to arise.
I bought mine directly off the Sugess site for around $200. Came on a leather strap. Solid little watch and the Seagull movement from what I know about it is a good movement. It reminded me of the top time deuce from Breitling. A watch I definitely can't afford yet, but love. Ended up putting a Khaki strap that I got from Vaer on it. Another watch company I highly recommend by the way. Love this watch
Yup, I bought the green one, zero error on the timegrapher, wore it a couple times and passed it to my dad who is Jim Clarke every time he wears it. 😅 Really great chrono. ❤
The fact that I put mines on the amplitude machine at work and it showed 0 beat error , 300 m/s and +/- 0.0. Dare I say it runs better than a rolex , only thing i can compare to is ulysse nardin which is the world's most accurate wrist watch Absolutely wild

Love that you are reviewing this great little watch. Would be important to allow your viewership to know is that this is a homage to a Breitling top time. Your review makes that this is a style unique to Sugess
Just bought one for US$117 on Aliexpress, during the 11.11 sale. The one I chose is advertised as "V2 (luminous analogue)" and has the Swan Neck regulation. During 11.11, I also grabbed, for only US $126, a Baltany S206070 Solar Military Chronograph with Calendar; includes the Seiko Instruments/Epson VS71 SOLAR powered Quartz (smooth sweep) movement, 10ATM with screw down crown and pushers.
Waiting for mine to arrive. After hearing ST19 production will end soon thought I had better get one in my collection. Beautiful watch, cracking review. To remove the button plastic, piece of sellotape, dab button and off it comes.
I got mine yesterday. Really happy with the price I got it for! But it’s strange, when I try to handwind it (clockwise or to the right), I don’t get any resistance? It just reverts back. Then if it’s counterclockwise or to the left, I hear some gears. It’s really unlike any of the other mechanical watches I own where it just winds up like normal.
It’s the smoothest wind I’ve felt in a movement, too. No sounds, no feel, no nothing… but it does wind that way and run with no problems. It sure is a strange winding feeling, though.
@@MikeyTown13 okay, good to know that you have a similar experience too. It's really strange. good review! Almost bought one of these but went with the Cadisen version only because it has rectangular pushers and the case sides are scalloped with a bead blast inside the scallop and polishing around the edge of the scallop. Gives it a bit more drama. Same swan neck movement. Different hand style as well. So its a bit less copy of the Brietling Top Time Deus Ex Machina and more homage. And it was cheaper with sapphire sandwich!

@@MikeyTown13 Agreed, but I am still rather sour with my only suggess purchase. And there isn't a chance I would buy any suggess, red star, studio underdog, or seagull. That money would be better spent tipping the friendly salesman at my closest AD of literally anything.
That’s completely understandable. My point is that judging all movements from a huge manufacturer like Seagul based on your experience with one piece may result in missing out on some pretty cool stuff. QC issues happen at every company, at every price point.
Mine seems pretty accurate to that on a full wind. I don’t time it to see what I’m getting, though… it’s better to just wind it in the morning before putting it on and not worry about it. But if I forget to, it’s still running at night from the previous morning’s wind.
I bought one of these, the chronograph is terrible, when O press the start button the hands goes backwards-3 to -5 seconds 😬😬😬 do not buy this if you want to use the chronograph
Man gotta say you have a unhealthy relationship with plastic 😅 plus it's all a bit slow 😞 you also could've given it a hand wind B4 showing the back. But I'll agree for that price it's a great looking piece. Orange was the new black. 😊
It’s a bit slow on purpose. I take my time with things that bring me joy… and that gives you the ability to adjust the playback speed to your liking. 😉
Why pay hundreds to fix it when you can buy a whole new watch for $130? 😂 Then you have a bonus (non-working) watch if you want to try your hand at a little watchmaking. I swear… the number of people that knock a $130 watch because it’s not an heirloom piece blows my mind! The only question to answer prior to purchasing this watch is: “Will this bring me $130 worth of joy?” For me, it already has… so I’m in the positive.
I doubt that… and I’ve seen a few comments like this. Just like anything else, there are good Chinese movements and bad Chinese movements, good Swiss watches and bad Swiss watches, etc… And for the price, it only needs to last until it’s ready for a service… just like the Seiko and Miyota movements that come from Japan (and have a great reputation) they are cheaper to buy than the cost of a service, so they usually get replaced with a new one when they go into the shop. How long are people expecting a $100 mechanical watch to last? This isn’t supposed to be an heirloom.
Ya I just like watches. Not every watch is supposed to be an heirloom or have a top notch mechanical movement. I like Citizen's eco-drive, and some Chinese watches because you get practical Sapphire and a Seagull movement for less than a $200.
@@MikeyTown13 theyre all clowish colours to be honest. If they want to be a bright colour watch it needs to use fstyling. It has a vintage watch styling with funky colours.
It's NOT that good. It LOOKS good. But it's as worthless as an Invicta. It's an automatic that is cheaper to throw away then service. And No one would service a chinese junk movement anyway. Keep lying to yourself though. The people you want to impress deep down know better... and the ones who act impressed don't actually even know what they are looking at.
You can buy 5 of them, minimum, for the price of servicing one Swiss chronograph. I didn't see how that's a bad thing. I own 7 or 8 watches with this movement and I've only had a slight problem with one - the reset pusher -- (I bought it used and I think it came with the issue). I've find every other one of them to be very sturdy and reliable. Have you ever owned one?
Not only that, you could make the “cost of servicing” argument for almost any Seiko or Miyota movement you find in hundreds of micro-brand watches. I don’t see anyone knocking the quality of those… just touting their reliability. It’s all good. Hopefully they’re having a better day today.
I own $5k swiss watches and $250 San Martin's. I wear what i like and what impresses me. No one notices or cares that you have a high end luxury watch or a $200 Ali brand watch. Wear what makes you happy.
12:00 This is not any "solid watch design" (in the sense of the Sugess project) because it is a simple COPY or, if you prefer, THEFT of the watch design (not the mechanism) Breitling Top Time Deus Limited Edition
No argument there… it’s absolutely a top time copy. Personally, I don’t mind stuff like that as long as the company uses their own branding and isn’t competing in/near the same price bracket as the original… but that’s just me.
Something else for folks interested in this watch, I've seen on forums several times, people say the swan neck version forces them to regulate the movement before it's sent out so you'll typically get a much more accurate watch by paying extra for it. Why pay hundreds to fix it when you can buy a whole new watch for $130? 😂
Then you have a bonus (non-working) watch if you want to try your hand at a little watchmaking.
I swear… the number of people that knock a $130 watch because it’s not an heirloom piece blows my mind!
The only question to answer prior to purchasing this watch is: “Will this bring me $130 worth of joy?”
For me, it already has… so I’m in the positive.
It probably cost 50 cents to make that plastic box.
Fair enough.
Mayonnaise watch strap.
Maybe it is egg based. 🤔
Can someone re finish the entire movement on their own
Own polishing
If they have the tools and the know-how, sure they can.
This watch is a knockoff of a Breitling Top Time Deus. Surprised that wasn't mentioned.
thats kinda self-explanatory so...
That has no bearing on my opinion of the watch… didn’t feel the need to mention it.
I looked at them many times on AliExpress but I can press buy because of that stupid ugly second hand shaped like a flash.
Ha! I love the lightning bolt!
Totally get it, though.
Those Chinese movements don't last.
I doubt that… and I’ve seen a few comments like this.
Just like anything else, there are good Chinese movements and bad Chinese movements, good Swiss watches and bad Swiss watches, etc…
And for the price, it only needs to last until it’s ready for a service… just like the Seiko and Miyota movements that come from Japan (and have a great reputation) they are cheaper to buy than the cost of a service, so they usually get replaced with a new one when they go into the shop.
How long are people expecting a $100 mechanical watch to last?
This isn’t supposed to be an heirloom.
@@MikeyTown13I bought 3 in the last year. I runs, 1 runs with a jerky, stuttering second hand, and one doesn't run at all. Total junk.
Ya I just like watches. Not every watch is supposed to be an heirloom or have a top notch mechanical movement. I like Citizen's eco-drive, and some Chinese watches because you get practical Sapphire and a Seagull movement for less than a $200.
i feel like theyre just a bit too bright the colour choices arent the best, the orange and red hands are just too much.
That’s why the make 5-6 other colors. 😉
Well… it’s not an automatic.
And I don’t wear watches to impress others. I wear them to enjoy for myself.
I suggest you do the same.
You clearly need validation from others..
That's what she said. 🫡
