I have heard it's near impossible to propagate cuttings from American Virginiana, direct seed is best then graft in a couple years for desired breeds, im wanting late drop Americans, so im starting a couple hundred seeds this spring here in Kentucky, hopefully my growing climate will do me good!

Cuttings are indeed nearly impossible. I've never succeeded. But root sprout transplants are easy! See my videos about this. I'm hoping for my first crop this fall!

Hi! I'm curious where in Canada you are located? And not to be too technical but are these American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana)? Thank you for sharing.

Do you think I can grow it in ON. Canada. Winter is so cold

Yes, I'm in Ontario, Long Point. If you are in a colder region you might want to look for a cultivar that is more cold tolerant. Some don't taste so good though! Check first!

If you have access to a tree for cuttings, your best option by far is to collect sprouts that pop up around large specimens. I will make a little video about this. Thanks for the suggestion.
