      I’m sorry for your loss. That’s a tough situation! I love being an aid in the ED. The 12 hours shift go by pretty fast because you are always busy, so it’s not bad. I really like my job a lot and would recommend it! You do a lot more interesting things as an aid in the ED. I don’t know if this is different for every hospital, but I do EKG’s and I draw labs which can be really fun and is an addition of more interesting tasks than what you might typically do as a floor aid or a nursing home aid. I can totally understand that it would be hard money wise with your situation. 18 an hour is much better than what I’m getting so hopefully if you become a PCT again you can get that. Wishing you the best!

I’m in NYC, and yes, you have to get your CNA certification first. My school’s New Age Training. I’d just go for CNA, and see if they can train you to be a PCT as well. Are you a CNA and are you still going to LPN or RN training or are you completed now? Reason for asking, I applied for a PT Care ED TECH, and I had let my CNA go many years ago so about to challenge that test however now they are asking for the candidate to be EMT trained, I have about a month before I go back to work full time so Im wondering which way to go. I can study for either, this will take about the same amount of time since one is done completely online and the other, (CNA) challange is a patchwork of passing the knowlege test for 20 buck...lol right and then taking the challenge skills test for 70 but all this takes time..about 5 weeks. The EMT could realistically be done in the same amount of time for 3000.00....any advice?

      That's how I started!!!! My first position was a CNA position, and I literally only worked that job for a month before I just applied to PCT positions to see if it would work...and it did! They're pretty much the same, except pcts do phlebotomy, and other skills, but the job I got gave us training for those to learn! if you get your CNA certification, definitely still apply for pct jobs. I'm sure there are hospitals in your area that will offer on the job training as well!

      Hi I became a CNA this summer & got hired as a PCT at the largest hospital in south Arizona so I’m sure you can do it too! What helped me was having a good customer service resume & apply to alll applications even if you’re feeling discouraged. A lot of times hospitals have PCT training programs too :3

      Hi a CNA license counts as PCT training and experience in a hospital. Go ahead and apply for the PCT position in the hospital.

      Becoming Brianna I wish that was the case. But northwestern is really private and sends us do’s and don’t’s as far as pictures and video. The most you can get away with is maybe a picture at the nurses station lol😂

    Very interesting video. I’ve always assumed nurses probably deal with a lot of catiness being that it’s mostly women. Is this true?

      I haven't experienced it so far, because I go to work, mind my business, and focus on me and my patients lol I don't get involved with any workplace drama, but I have experienced rude nurses at times. I don't let it get to me, and sometimes I have to tell them about themselves lol I might be nice, but I don't play that lmbo

      In my experience ER nurses are mature, secure in their own skin, reliable, independent, down to earth and usually loads of fun. I've found them to be the least b!tchy of all nurses I've worked with. I love the ER!!!

    Hey! i love your channel, I have a question I am currently a Registered Medical Assistant and also have 4 years of phlebotomy experience however I don't see myself expanding in that field so I decided to go back to school in March to be a PCT! do you think that is a good move or I should've done CNA courses? I am not readying for full NURSING field I've tried multiple times with taking exams and FAILED!! So I want to take my time.

      Honestly I have tried to be pretty much my whole life! I don't like negativity, love to be happy, and love to make others happy. There were some dark/sad times in my life, but I have a great support system, prayed my way through them, and got to a point where i realized life is too short to be anything but happy! it's definitely changed my whole outlook on life :)

    Question? Does some schools accept fafsa or self pay ? For nursing schools

    • @kitsunefaye1661
      @kitsunefaye1661 3 месяца назад

      Check with the schools you’re considering. If you’re a part of a union, they may pay for school too; it depends on which union you’re in, and how long you’ve been working too.
