I currently work as a Perioperative assistant , cleaning ORs between cases. Occasionally you’re also asked to assist with patient transport. I’ve been working a few weeks now and today I was asked to do a patient transport , which I found to be enjoyable. Interacting with the patient and their family felt rewarding in a sense, even though I’m not a nurse or anything. I’ve always loosely thought of nursing, mainly because the aspect of helping people appeals to me. Today’s experience has left me thinking about this path a little more. I’ve always heard the stories of cleaning up urine and fecal matter, and I’ll be honest, cleaning up dog poop does make me gag. I feel like if I could push through that part though, I could have a fulfilling career where I can really help people. Schooling also seems intimidating, so I’ve got a lot to consider. I have a drive for helping people though so I feel like if I can survive it all, it would be worth it.
There's better medical field professions, CNA is the hardest and lowest paid of all medical professions, medical assistants, nurses, emts, surgical technician, CNA is definitely the hardest. You clean so much poop and you get about 10-12 residents per shift it's crazy.
I'm currently trying to figure out what career path I might go to after I get my GED. I failed it 20 years ago in math and the essay. I always struggled with math in school. I prefer basic math so when I failed my GED I just assumed that I would never be good enough to be able to go to college. So I got a job in a grocery store and eventually was working western union. And I can handle counting all that money. That is fine. But I don't want a job that requires algebra, geometry, fractions for example. And since I now have physical limitations because I have herniated discs in my back, scoliosis, arthritis and inflammation in my back. I'm not suppose to be lifting heavy objects. And although I prefer sitting over standing alot. I can't sit down for hours and not get up because then my herniated discs will bother me. So I wanted to get ny ged since it's an old regret of mine but I'm so far running into trouble even finding a job in the medical field that does not conflict with my mental and physical limitations. I don't want to have to figure up complicated math all day and feel like I've been in school all day. I cannot do something that requires me running around 100 mph and literally at all times on my feet. I cannot lift heavy objects. Let alone a person. And I don't like the health risk of some of these other jobs in the medical field that put you too close to working around radiation, x rays because due to long exposure it changes your DNA and you might get cancer later. So any thing that puts me around any of those things is an instant NO from me. I just don't know what career out there is good for a 36 year old woman especially if I need to go to college that would suit me in all ways. I can't expect perfection in a job. But I cannot do something that is physically demanding or challenges my knowledge in complicated ways especially math. I would rather just be a cashier and not have the headache. Lol Any advice anyone?
I'm in school, at a local SNIF, and went to clinical first time March 17th. The RN on the floors was our guide for the day, and her technique was 180 degrees different from the text book lectures. We were taught in class to address patients by respectful names and titles, and the for RN actually called them by their first names, or by Honey, Uncle, Sweetie, or, "My favorite patient".... and about 5 other very familiar nicknames. She also had absolutely no plan for the day. We just passed out breakfast trays. I was assigned one patient, then another candidate did the work. I was totally confused. You're right, the floors were so different from the class. I wonder why they even bother with a class. Good video, thank you.
Thanks for watching! I would say it is prefer to ask your patients how they would like to be address especially if it is upon initial contact with the patient. Depending on how familiar the nurse/staff is with the patient, I often notice staff tend to address patients in "nicknames", but it is always important to check to see how patients like to be address upon initial contact and whether patients are comfortable with nicknames☺

On Long term, you are their family in a sense, so nicknames and first names are common, and we are told what they prefer to be called as well in report.
See there are pros and cons to everything in life, when you work for a home health agency you usually only focus on one patient at a time, secondly if you work for a assisting living facility they tend to exploit you by having you do multiple patients anywhere from 8-10 in a entire day.
Thanks a lot for this video. Am a new new CNA and i worked by myself on Saturday after a 4 day orientation. I almost quit. Told my husband nursing is not for me though i want to be a Nurse. Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, months, i should be able to overcome all of these.

Something else that people aren't informed about, is investments outside of your job. Talk to a financial advisor, and do your own DD, but I feel investments in something you've done your research for, makes doing difficult jobs easier, because the hope is that in the long run, if you average down, or whatever your long term plan is, you have an escape velocity ramp, so that you're not stuck with just the 8-12 hour shift salary. That's not financial advice, but just some cautionary tails, because no-one, and I mean no-one, told me anything about investing during age 16-33, and I could have been slowly accumulating and planning for my future. I worked bad wages, and I could have used some of that type of motivation, to see an escape plan, years down the road.

There are different factors. I was fortunate to be surrounded by great nurses most of the time as a float CNA. Sometimes, it is simply the workload and the patient population based on the department that can be challenging. 🙂
3 Years later & this is still soo helpful. As a future pre med student looking to gain experience in the medical field, I am a little nervous. One question. Would you consider this job a good fit for somebody who has a passion for helping and serving others?
Question, you mentioned on your video that after 6 months I can request to be a CNA, is this 6 months, after the BSN program, or it can be ADN? or even after 6 months of the LVN program, and I am asking because, I'm will going for the LVN program this coming January 2025, for now, but I will be interested in working as CNA
Do you have any suggestions on programs??? I'm looking into programs rn. I went to college and got a BA in psych, so not nursing Which is kinda why I'm in a bit of a cross road between fast track programs or not

I work in a county jail and I’ve been wanting to move into healthcare because trust me. Law enforcement is really hard and very depressing. I hate it now and I found cna classes so I’m going to try it out. I often have to clean people, move people, clean cells and help people in the jail so now I need to see what the other aspects are of CNA
Looking bad? First think of your health and life. Always speak up. As a CNA, I always speak up. I refused to injure myself just not to make anyone feel bad. As long as I help others I expect same from them and I always SPEAK UP
Haha! Thank you for subscribing and supporting my channel! The numbers don't matter to me, it is the constant support by showing up to my videos that matters the most 😊. I am grateful for your support!
Depending on the state ur goin.. im in los angeles California , havent taken my NCLEX yet, ended up workin as nursing assistant.. im currently working in a hospital.. the hiring nurse Mgr just asked for my diploma and TOR.. but um planin to take my LVN soon and hopefully nclex...
The programs I am looking at in my state are so similar. It’s literally one semester of class work between being an LPN and being an RN. To save up money and time, I’m just going to go for my RN after working as a CNA for a while.

Thanks for the video. That's too bad about those units you dread going into. Life would be so much better if people just tried to do their part.
There are different factors. I was fortunate to be surrounded by great nurses most of the time as a float CNA. Sometimes, it is simply the workload and the patient population based on the department that can be challenging. 🙂
I'm just about to start my CNA program lol so thank you
Hello how are you doing?do you need help passing
Good luck it's not what you think it is .
Thank you for sharing your experience ❤
3 Years later & this is still soo helpful. As a future pre med student looking to gain experience in the medical field, I am a little nervous. One question. Would you consider this job a good fit for somebody who has a passion for helping and serving others?
Question, you mentioned on your video that after 6 months I can request to be a CNA, is this 6 months, after the BSN program, or it can be ADN? or even after 6 months of the LVN program, and I am asking because, I'm will going for the LVN program this coming January 2025, for now, but I will be interested in working as CNA

I've always believed CNA Test is not for all but studying, you need God's grace to pass
People keep talking about Mr Dylan all over
RUclips, he must be a very awesome help
I studied for months and couldn't pass, I guess passing is a blessing
Do you have any suggestions

in a bit of a cross road
between fast track programs or not

How were class as a cna student, do you have to write a lot essays or what kind of work do you do in school?
It is very easy. I slept the entire time and was top of my class
Hello how are you doing
I feel like it depends on the instructor. My CNA class had a lot of course work along with lab.
There's better medical field professions, CNA is the hardest and lowest paid of all medical professions, medical assistants, nurses, emts, surgical technician, CNA is definitely the hardest. You clean so much poop and you get about 10-12 residents per shift it's crazy.

@Clarisa Aguilar I’m going to start classes on the first Monday of April
@@spacehuman6947how’s it been going!?
Great points to note!
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found it helpful
Thank you for your video. Very informative. 😁👍🎥
Good video. Im thinking about going in this field
good luck! believe in yourself
I’m a caregiver. I’m going into cna school in 3 months and most things I’m confident in besides the book info
Thanks for sharing this. I was in the middle of a CNA class, but just hearing about the work was so damn depressing. I dropped out
CNA work really can take a toll. I confess there are times I felt similarly. Thanks for watching!
Some days are better than others plus you work with agency one to one.
@@idemudiaodiagbe7879do you prefer working with agency? You can set your own schedule?
Hi, I started my cna yrs ago and didn't passed my certification which I learned alot soon I am trying again soon. Super nervous again!
believe in yourself! good luck!
If you stick up for yourself will that make you look bad?
I stand up for myself with nurses that just want to pass meds.
Looking bad? First think of your health and life. Always speak up. As a CNA, I always speak up. I refused to injure myself just not to make anyone feel bad. As long as I help others I expect same from them and I always SPEAK UP
Am I really your only subscriber 🥺🖤
Haha! Thank you for subscribing and supporting my channel! The numbers don't matter to me, it is the constant support by showing up to my videos that matters the most 😊. I am grateful for your support!

Hallo dr any free course for CNA in seatle state
Cleaning someone....i thought that was the caregivers job🙆🙆🙆i just took my first class ...is this for me??
If you are a CNA, you are the caregiver Lol. We are the bottom of the hierarchy. We are the cleaners😂
Could you let me know where I can buy CNA scrub ? Thanks
Is it worth it to become an LPN or should someone just go straight to RN?
The programs I am looking at in my state are so similar. It’s literally one semester of class work between being an LPN and being an RN. To save up money and time, I’m just going to go for my RN after working as a CNA for a while.
Thank you, very helpful.
Thank you for this video! I am starting my CNA class next month God willing 💖🙏 I want to share that God loves you so so much ❤️ the bad news is we have all sinned by breaking His commandments (worshiping other false gods, making idols, taking the Lords name in vain, not keeping the Sabbath, dishonoring parents, murder, adultery, stealing, lying, coveting, and more.) Sin is the reason we die and it is makes us deserving of punishment in hell. But God loves us so much that He sent Jesus His Son, who is One with God, so that we can be saved through Him. Jesus died on a cross and was treated terribly. He died to pay for our sins in our place. Jesus is sinless, He gave Himself as the sacrifice for us. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, defeating death 🙌 John 3:16 in the Bible says “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” If anyone repents and places their faith in Jesus, they will be saved 💕💕 repent means to have a change of mind; we realize we have done evil against God, which leads to turning away from sin and turning to Jesus ✝️ when we place our faith in Jesus we trust that He died for our sins and rose again, we trust in Him alone for our salvation and as Lord 🩷 the Bible is Gods word; the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible have Jesus’s teachings on how to follow Him, His amazing miracles, the death He dies to save us through Him, and His resurrection 🩷🩷 God bless you!
I heard no lies!,,,
There are no pros .
What’s the person that monitors in the Mental Hospital?
Behavioral assistant?
Mental Health assistant?
Muy real
If it is two people job how could
Ask them politely?😅
Yes! You can ask the other person by saying, "This person is a 2-person-assist for ___ (insert task you are trying to perform). do you have a moment to give me a hand?"
Interesting
Get out of San Francisco 💯 it’s a mess !
Seriously when I did the clinical was so weird all the skills I've learned tossed out
yes, it is quite a shocker!
such good advice than you!
You are so cute
👍💪🙏💜 blessings to everyone, if you haven't yet repented and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please do so before it's too late, it's not God's will for none to perish Acts 2 vs 38 John 3 vs 16 Romans 10 vs 13
i mean glasses are good by why so big
Thank you really good info
I’m currently a Traveling HHA on my way to the Nursing field
Goodluck everyone 🫵🏼🙌🏼🗣️
