Guuuuurl, sister locks is gonna be mad at you.🙎🏽 But too bad for them. It's ludicrous that the process should be some secret society when really, it's just the same method as interlocking larger sized locs. I figured that out a few years ago. Kudos to you for sharing your research! 💁🏾Your mama is lucky to have a daughter like you!!!

My suster likes it better, probably because it was free🤣. Once I went through her hair, I found opening in some of locs loose, hair at various areas along the locs😳, I mean if that is how licensed professional's work, I will pass.

You did an incredible job with this installation! I took the Sisterlocks course and although our grid, the tool and some of the interlocking techniques are different, in my opinion your technique is great as well. Your important points were spot on, especially making sure that you always pass through the center of the hair and not to pass through the same side more than once. Beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing.

You have lovely hands. The way you handle your mother’s hair says a lot about how you feel about her. This hair “ritual” has always bonded Black mothers and daughters...grandmothers...sisters...cousins. It is uniquely different in that no other culture (with little exception) invests that kind of time ....that kind of attention to detail. Even little girls are expected to sit.....sometimes for hours.... in elongated silences in order to complete the task. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced this. I miss it...

I have looked at a lot of videos but she is the first to help it click for me. I already have braidlocs but most of my strand is loc’d, I’m taking out the part at the bottom that still has the braid pattern and interlocking up to the loc’d part. Thanks for sharing.

I know this is an old video but I still want to offer you my props. I did microlocks on my hair 2.5 years ago and I wish I would have ran across this video then. It would have made my parting more precise. I started off as a Braider more than 30 years so it wasn't difficult and mine are beautiful. Now that people are asking me to do their hair I want to make sure I have the parting process down pat. Thank you for sharing this entire process, I could not find this "secret society" information anywhere. Kudos to you young lady. ❤

Bingo!! I've been searching high and low for a video like this! This is awesome and you did an excellent job. Regardless of the name of the locs, this was exactly what I was looking for. Yes, I have been strongly considering sisterlocs, but I'm very competitive and knew that I could achieve the same look myself. I'll keep my $1500 and do my own following your lead. Keep up the great work and forget the naysayers honey because you did that!! It's all about locking natural hair and maintaining it properly..

This was one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. I'm an overthinker and this was so pleasing to my thoughts that I've always had about how to twist/loc hair (if that makes any sense at all). Everything about this was satisfying: the grid, the parting tool, the flat twists, the 4 point interlocking... My brain feels at rest, lol.

Ms. Katya Bravo👏👏👏 take a bow! This was by far the best tutorial on how to install micro locs. I have never seen it started by hand. You were very detailed with the sections, parting and 4 rotations. I am just seeing this video which says it was uploaded in 2017. I am a new subscriber as of today and will be watch moving forward since I am leaning towards interlocking my hair very soon. I am very interested in viewing your older videos and comparing your present videos to see you and your mom's journey with maintenance, styling etc.
