you are welcome!! and it's good to know that it comes up as a google search result!!
I searched “no mess paint pour.”
Excellent! I've never seen anybody do this before. Well executed. I'm going to try this now...
What a great, neat and inexpensive tip! Thanks for passing it along.
No problem!! hope it helped!!
WOW!!! I've been fighting to keep paint and varnish can rims clean forever, spending way too much time and paper towels so I could close the can up again without the mess. THANK YOU.
I’m an artist. And I use all sorts of containers and methods for my large works. This is amazing. Thank you sir!
Thank you this has driven me crazy for years. Really appreciate and will use this idea overtime from now on.
Awesome!! you are welcome!
Thanks very much for the tip i will definitely be using this one.
Cheers Rob
Thank you for sharing as I was making a mess of my paint can. 🙏🏼🤪👍🏼
Jordan....thank you for this. Simple and effective. The fact that it has a pour back function can be a big saver with some of the expensive paints.
Hey no problem! Glad it could help!
Comic book editing was awesome lol
Haha thanks! Ya I was playing around in editing and thought it added a little humor element so I kept goin with it haha!
Great vid. Love the Batman style lettering over video. I just made a mess pouring paint. Huh? I did like another vid suggested. But I used very narrow tape. Ooopps. NOW I know to use wider tape. Thank you again.
Thanks for sharing this tip, just tried it, no mess! Thanks mate
Thanks for spreading the love!
Was watching and wondering how well this would work. Great tip! I was impressed that the tin groove didn't fill up with paint.
yeah it actually works for sure. if the edge has paint on it sometimes that can cause the tape to not stick, but if that happens just a dry wipe before you tape and you're good!
Worked great... thanks for sharing this!
Yeah!!!!! Better late than never. Haha, after decades of making a mess, pouring paint. Thanks a lot for your tip, JBo.
Seriously, thank you for this. And thank you for getting right to the point.
very welcome!!

Hahaha I'm over here in Canada! You are welcome and I'm glad I could help!!
I DO put nail holes in the rim of the can so the paint flows back in. THAT is clever, too! 😉 STAY WELL! I feel like I’m living in a TWILIGHT ZONE episode... without the cool music!
@@robinholbrook6576 yes my dad and my grandpa always did that trick!!
love this, great idea
THANK YOU! I'm painting my walls and REALLY appreciate the hack. I'm the messiest painter I know of. Time to clean up my act.
haha if you dont get a lil messy youre not doing it right!! lol
Legitimately cool, hate the splattery messy can after pouring, nice!
EXCELLENT video straight to the point very simple easy to understand!! Unlike a video I just finished 8 minutes never had any real solution the author spent more time in front of the camera than showing tips. Great job 👍
Awesome!! Great to hear, that's what I'm aiming for!
BAM!!!!! My mind is blown! Thank you!
haha! you are welcome!
Thank you!!! I knew there had to be a better way!!!

Thanks so much. Ready for touch ups! You rock. Got anything on painting powder coat window trim?
You're welcome! I do not unfortunately that one is out of my expertise as I'm primarily an automotive painter. But good luck!
Nice tip! No, I never thought of that!
It really helps to keep my paint can rims clean, appreciate your work from india 👍👍👍
Awesome!! You're welcome from Canada!!
Simple yet effective good tip 👍
Right on! thank you!!
Thanks a bunch for this tip, JBo. This will save me a ton of time! i have learned that it is very important to clean the groove of the can before putting the lid back on and I usually use paper towel folded into a v-shape. I also pour from the front of the can so if there are drips they will not cover instructions. Your method should take care of both.
Awesome!! Glad I could help!!
This looks tidy !!! I shall try it tomorrow 🙌
Good luck!!
WOW! Thanks for this. Genius.
Great video! Thanks for posting! I watched someone else's video, and he spilled paint during his demo and also got paint leaking into the rim. I thought to myself -- there's gotta be someone more professional out there who can show the real scoop - and there you are! Thanks!
Haha! Well maybe I got lucky! But actually no I use this a lot and generally never make a mess, HOWEVER!! I have been meaning to update this because I make the nozzle different now and it's actually much better. So.... maybe I should do that? haha anyway thanks a lot and glad I could help!
I googled how to pour paint into a tray and got this bit of genius!! Expensive Farrow & Ball paint in Peignoir so really pleased with this (I know, I know, I could have got the colour mixed at a cheaper price but...hey, it's a treat!). Thanks so much.
You are so welcome! Happy to help!

Brill. Thanks.
Not sure if this would be suitable with a bigger 5 litre can but thanks for video.
its a bit tougher with the gallon cans but it still helps!
Thank you!
no prob!
Hi JBo, can you make some tutorials on paint techniques, like how to make a chessboard pattern with more then 2 colors, and other techniques that are more complicated?
Just an idea :)
Heyo! Thanks for the suggestion, I'm currently just doing vids as I do the jobs I have in my line up, so I don't have that exact thing coming up in the near future, but if I start to do videos just for tutorial sake I will def consider this. Thanks for the idea!!
Thank You!!!!
You're welcome!!
The excess tape where they cross, fold them in creating a pointy triangle. This will funnel the pour towards the pointy spout 😊
🙌🏼
Great, now I need the hack for the 5gal. container.
i tried this from memory and learned the hard way... you need very sticky tape and you need to stick it to the inside rim very well. my attempt at this resulted in a rim-full of paint, so make sure you get a good seal on that inside rim.
Thank you! I will try again with these tips. My first attempt was a mess, lol.
@@SheilaSpencer1 i recommend the yellow plastic thing you get at the HomeDepot paint counter. Kind of pricey ($1.20) for what it is, but well worth it. It takes some learning to get it on the inside rim properly. Be sure to wash immediately after using, especially inside the groove that attaches to the can. I like to squegee it with my finger before I remove it to get the residual paint back into the can. But its way better than this tape trick.
