My grandson spray painted my car with black spray paint, my neighbor suggested that I use WD40 to clean it off, and it worked beautifully! You just have to leave it on for about 5 minutes, & then wipe it off. I was so grateful!!
@@DuncanCustomAirbrush Basically, WD40 is silicone based, so I'd think that just getting the silicone stuff people use for acrylic pouring and using that would be a LOT cheaper, although I haven't tried it. Just a thought, WD40 is EXPENSIVE!!
After a day of painting/spray painting I'll wash my hands with WD-40. Then I'll wash the WD-40 off with isopropyl alcohol. Gets about 90% of the paint off my skin. Doesn't do much under the fingernails... but I don't really try that hard ;) .
Wd-40 and even mosquito spray with dete will remove dried and wet paint, sharpie marker and any type of oil laquer , enamel based stains and paints and markers off of anything
Mosquito spray will also remove spray paints and sharpie marker off of anything that's a hard surface non cloth or soft materials like cloth. And will remove it off leather as well
Cling film: place a layer of plastic wrap or a cut-down plastic bag over the top of the can before you seal up the lid, this helps create a tight seal, creates a barrier against metal-to-metal corrosion, and also makes it easier to “cleanly” open the can when the time comes. If I have a paint can that’s still 3/4 full or completely full, I always store them upside down. Keeps the paint from creating that clumpy film on top. I worked for Benjamin Moore for years inside and outside sales. One of my favorite store managers was an old school woman Janette who had been in the business for 40+ years. God Bless that woman for mentoring me but Janette was known in our town that if you had a difficult paint job, or color match or maybe you royally screwed something up and your customer is furious, you would go to Janette. The wood grain hack definitely works. I saw her do this on tile before and I also saw her use two different stains before and did it on a fireplace mantle. I used to watch her in amazement.
If you pull off your tape at a 90 degree angle ON THE SAME PLANE AS THE TAPE, it comes off easier and with fewer tears because the force is distributed over a greater area and the adhesive doesn't bond with the same strength at that angle. A hair dryer blowing ahead of your pull can also help.
Latex & acrylic tips Try using a glaze for the wood grain tool instead of full strength paint. Plus, the tips on other comments. Use an ice cube tray to mix small batches of colors that you'll need throughout your project. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil & it will last up to a week. Use a rubber spatula to get the last of the paint out of a can. Dollar store has different sizes & shapes. - When the paint builds up at the top on the can despite being careful, run 2" tape around the top of the can & fold it over on the lid to create a seal. Great tips. The trick with the dryer sheet does work. First you must start with very hot water, stir it well once the dryer sheet has time to release some of its good stuff. Every once in awhile pick up the brush and stir. Leave over night. Next day try brraking up the brush and do it again. I find it best if you can put a lid on it in order to keep the heat it. Murphy's Oil Soap is supposed to remove dried paint. I don't think you add water. Leave overnight. I see people commenting on it all the time. I'm pretty good about not letting paint dry in my brushes. I put them in a water jar if I have to take a break. And then just use another brush when I start up again. Or, if I have to, I have a special sponge to absorb the water and then dry it with paper towels so it doesn't water down the paint.
I’ve used Murphy’s Oil Soap on acrylic and latex paint that’s dried on brushes for weeks and it works just glop it on bristles and put in warm water cover just bristles over night or few days sometimes❤

I had a van, years ago, which I used as a test for painting techniques. For the instrument cluster panel (close to the size of the glove compartment door) ... I took both out of the van. Then I painted them both the same color. Then for the hack, I took plastic (I used the scrap from model car building) ... I held the instrument cluster and glove box door (freshly painted sides facing down ...) lit on fire, the plastic, and held it beneath the fresh paint ... so that the spidery smoke ... only ... landed on the fresh paint. Then I let the paint dry ... and once fully dry, I clear coated the items. The result, was wispy, smoke on the paint, and the clear, just kept the smoke from wiping off. A real cool easy and cheap effect, for smaller pieces. Though I contemplated a larger area, on the side of the van, using the same technique, but with a very slow fan, or possibly even blowing through a straw, gently pushing the smoke onto the paint.

Wondering where the yellow and orange went? Look at your brush. The yellow and orange mixed with the green at the end of the brush. You needed a lot more of those 2 colors at the end to separate themselves. In this case, they just mixed and you're lucky you didn't get brown. If you don't get your color to the end of your brush, it's going to mix with the adjacent colors and you'll never see the ones you put down. Check out the image of the brush at 6:33. Tells you all you need to know.

This really made me giggle! thank you :)
Murphy's oil soap for cleaning brushes. Works wonders.
You had me rolling the whole time you are truly one funny man
Great Video, Thanks for sharing and putting a smile on my face. Your talent goes beyond painting lol
Great video. You’re just the cutest!!! I just about died when you showed your socks in flip flops. OMG, You’re like one of my children. 😂😂😂
😂😂😂🧦🩴
I laughed my a** off watching the bottle glued to the big brush hack. You crack me up. I love watching your videos. Good tips and information are a bonus. 😁
HA!!! Hope you can get it back on!!
Try using a wooden handle paint brush. You're plastic one, had a gap in it.. I think that's why it oozed out on the sides. It should be solid, so the paint has nowhere to go.
I love how close you have to get to the canvas in the rainbow paintbrush scene😂 great unexpected laugh this morning thank you
Enjoyed the hacks and entertainment. 😊
"socks and sandals, activate!" 😂😂
U are so fun!! Ty for sharing these hacks, the last one with the WD-40 nozzle is my fav, I will definitely be doing that one myself! 😁

Mind blown over #10…trying that tomorrow
🤯🤯🤯
You are so funny!! Thanks for the laughs and the heads up on what works and what does not. I have used Olive oil to get dried paint off a brush. It needs to soak for at least an hour or 4.
You never cease you amaze me Duncan!!! @DuncanCustomAirbrush!! Thank you. LOLOL
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed!
its so much fun to wach your video thanks foor making this
Bottle & paint cans Granny style
Use funnel, pour paint into clean dry soda or Gatorade bottle. Write paint info on wide masking tape, stick to bottle and done. You're welcome.
Try soaking paint brush in fabric softener. Can also work for varnish brushes.
The last one is EPIC!! I'm soo gonna do that!
Yeah it blew my mind too!
WD-40 is great for cleaning metal and removing label glues. You have to let it set on the label for awhile before it will loosen the glue.
I love your hack videos. I especially liked the last hack showing how to put the WD40 top onto a spray paint. I wanted to try that myself, and now that I know it works, I can't wait to try it.
What you can do testing like you did on the piece of artwork, make a colored copy with it and then put that on it to see if you like it first. But using the insert to spray with is FANTASTIC!!!! Thanks for sharing it!
That's a good idea!
@@DuncanCustomAirbrush Thanks.... Doing that has saved several of my pieces of art..lol
Beautiful piece of art work. Since I've been watching your channel I've loved most of the projects that you've done.
❤awesome 😂and it's hilarious learning from you 💕
Ive never seen you before, i was so enthralled with your videos. I just wanted to see more and more. I will subscribe now because I learned so much loved your hacks and tips. You have such a great fun demeanor. Thank you for your great tips! I can't wait to see more. Have a wonderful day!❤❤❤
Wow what a great compliment! That really helps and means a lot to me!!
I'm happy it helps. Love the video ❤❤
I really like that bowling ball effect, I'm going to try that one!
I did it down the side of a car once
Wondering where the yellow and orange went? Look at your brush. The yellow and orange mixed with the green at the end of the brush. You needed a lot more of those 2 colors at the end to separate themselves. In this case, they just mixed and you're lucky you didn't get brown. If you don't get your color to the end of your brush, it's going to mix with the adjacent colors and you'll never see the ones you put down. Check out the image of the brush at 6:33.
Tells you all you need to know.
Fun lessons Taylor!
Thanks, this was the most footage I have ever had to edit!
Sweetheart, you need to use LIQUID fabric softener for that one hack to even think of working 😂 i love your videos tho thanks for being out there making fun, artistic content 😊
So I watched this in fast forward 2x speed! You are hilarious! When you touched the hot glue, totally relate lol and the red paint on the paint brush, coming out the handle part - thank you! I will try the wd40 hack, I'm sure 😊
I made a wood look rocking thing like you have. I made it by using an empty tp roll and made the grain look with my glue gun. I made a full faux fireplace mantle and it held up great.
First time here and loved you humorous, Helpful content! Subscribed.
Have you done hydro dipping with spray paint?

To get a clean line with any tape: first paint with the same colour as the background - when that is dry, apply the colour you want ;-)
Love the WD 40 hack as the sprayer. Thanks!
Thanks for a good laugh and awesome tips! Try putting your crusty brush in 91% alcohol, but don't leave it to long the alcohol will destroy the adhesive holding the bristols in! I use Murphy's Soap and Dawn to clean my brushes, but if I accidentally leave on out, alcohol to the rescue!!
