I live in tropical U.s> and it's pretty much the same phenomena at certain longitudes. It can be brief, or last for days. It's monsoon season, which can get aggressive. Beach and currents will be powerful. had a Russian free Thai vacation until we hit Maya Bay with the hordes. It was clean and free at our beach front in Ao Nong. Russian stench ion Thailand is real. Hopefully it will normalize soon.
I was in Thailand and Cambodia back in 2008 for a couple of months in Jan/Feb. What is the situation like during the rainy season when it comes to mosquitoes and ticks etc? Perhaps best to visit during the dry season, no?
Hello Nat, It is 7.30 pm in Perth. All this rain that has been promised to us. Hasn't fallen yet. There is going to be a down pour tonight. I love Thailand in 2 and a half months. I will be in beautiful Koh Samui. I am glad you like phuket.

For me it’s better during rainy season , less busy
