Great video for me to play along to, I'm 10 months in to learning drumming, I thought I was too old to learn though at 53 but I love it and will never give it up
Love the way you did this video! A simple introduction and straight to the playing without any stops to talk etc, worked perfect for this kind of video!
I agree it's very efficient, but it's good to have instruction on how to make the beat sound good too. There's more to it than just hitting the right drums at the right time. You need to learn things like dynamics, feel, and technique to make these beats sound good!
This is good stuff . Great starting place for a beginner. Good practice for an intermediate player. And a good review for an advanced drummer. Please keep these coming . Thx as always
@Landon Lozano haha we actually just stopped playing but it was crazy bro. Learned a ton and got to play all over my home town. It was really cool. Thanks for asking bro!
Extremely helpful, thank you so much! Very detailed, and helpful that you play it slowly as well so I can study your movements and read the music. 10/10.
For beginners trying to learn these rhythms and create your own, an important thing to keep in mind is the accent patterns. One accent pattern that i think can fit into almost any song, fast or slow, is spoken like "1..a(2)..and..(3)e..4" I put the beats you don't play in parenthesis. I wrote it like that because of the way you count sixteenth notes: 1 e and a, 2 e and a, 3 e and a(uh), and so forth. Just look up how to count sixteenth notes and you will understand very quickly what I'm doing here. I hope this helps :)
I don't play drums but just used this video to train myself and see if I could replicate each beat on my daw by ear, and them checking how far off I was with the music sheet. Definitely a great exercise for learning.
The jungle beat was very interesting. And I agree with Gary C. These can easily become building blocks for you to use to make other grooves even more "you than before"
Gabe im so glad that i can play all those beats 😁 i'm self taught drummer for three years and recently i discoverd DBO 🤩 because of U and all other simlary RUclips channels New drummers can progress so quickly with your lessons! Great work kepp grooving!!! Greetings fom Croatia!!
Mental practice is still practice if you sit down do the kicks and airdrum as accurately as you can or i use my wallet and coffee table as snare and tom sometimes helps you learn the patterns
thx dude, i bought a drumkit because I am stuck at home during COVID and ive been doing your top 20 drum beats and top 20 drum fills everyday... + some instruction videos for drummers by this company called "Legacy Course". I don't know but drums feel fun and somewhat easy, ive been playing along with alot of songs out there.. Am I crazy? I feel invincible jamming to everything..
None of these are hard... Id say if you got all 20 of those beats down, than ya got a good start. But you can tell a good intermediate drummer, by how well he meshes with who ever he plays with. Its not always about the beat, but more importantly about how the beat falls in the mix.
Legit I watch all these 20 beats/fills videos pretty regularly either sitting at my kit playing along or while sitting on the couch and then go play the one or 2 that seemed to stick out as what I needed. A beginner could play a good bit just by following these and nothing else
Found as a beginner the halftime beat tricky keeping the right hand on the cymbal in a different beat to the kick drum! Thanks for the videos. Will probably spend an hour solid a night on each beat for the next week
Dug them all! Shows how subtle changes can make a big difference. My favorite would have to be the Jungle beat. As a new drummer I really have a hard time putting the Toms into anything more than fills. Thanks for what you do.
Thank you, I've been just playing whatevers been popping in my head and I've been trying to follow songs but I am still playing the hi hat once and my snare twice like a boss 😆 🤣 😂

There should be a test where you must be able to able to play all 20 of these in order to graduate to an intermediate drummer.
