    6 months ago, I was a complete newbie and only knew beat 1 & 2, after working on this as little as 5 mins per day, I mastered all beats except for 17 and 22, this helped me alot. Thanks from canada ❤❤

      Absolutely right. I am not a sight drummer, but I have played almost all of these rhythms (not the waltz! For what, I've never played any waltz music?)

      @@SightReadDrums Reminds me of my first lessons in 1970, except for the absence of my teacher Dennis Stefani's notations: "BD" (Bass Drum), "SD" (Snare Drum) and "HH"(Hi-hat.)

      @@uglyferret9397it’s a click on the rim so you put the but end of the stick (where the flag on a Vic firth symbol is) and you click it on the rim of your snare drum

    I get confusing on that shuffle note sheet
    I already and really use to play that note.. But if only seeing the note without the drumming sound i might confuse because there is a time when hi-hat, snare and bass drums are in the same timing to hit it!? But in reality we don't hit it..
    I really need to know ehat is going on there ??

    3:12 - Show Two is usually known also as a basic skank groove.

    Personally I’d use the hi-hat pedal for no 12 but this still helps a lot

    What about the one that does boom on 1 tap on 2 boom on the and of 3 and tap on 4. The one that's in most songs. Boom tap, boom tap. Idk what it's called and I looked and couldn't find

    drummers any tips on the beat at 3:28? i'm able to do most of these but i especially struggle with this one and getting the hi hat and kick timing to sit correctly.

      Just like for the rest of the grooves. You go sloooooow, and when you start getting the feel you go like 5bpm quicker and repeat. And count when learning a new groove, it helps.

    Love this, thank you. As a non-drummer, I assume the top line is the hi-hat rhythm, and the bottom ones on the staff are the snare?

      Yes the 'x' on top is hi-hat, notes in the second space from top are the snare, notes in the bottom space are the kick

      Depend on how you count it.

      In 12/8 it's usually a Slow Blues
      In 4/4 it's commonly a Shuffle...

      @@WD.909 well, AT slow tempos you play all triplets on Hi hats or ride written in 12/8
      And with medium too fast tempos you play thé Shuffle often written in 4/4
      Slow triplet tempos feel liké half time beats....

    What do the dots next to the notes mean, like on the triplet feel

      A dot extends the duration of the note by half. In this case we’re in 12/8 time so the dotted quarter notes last for 3 eighth note beats.
