  • It was a near perfect spring day as 50 year-old Jennifer Dulos loaded her children into the family’s 2017 Chevy Suburban and took them to school. She rushed right back home because she had two doctors’ appointments in New York City, one at 11 am and the second at 1 pm. Depending on traffic, she should have had plenty of time to get home, gather her stuff, change cars and head out.
    She made it home, but that’s where her trail ends. From there, Jennifer Dulos, mother of five, going through the extended trials and tribulations of a messy divorce, just disappeared.

    This made me realize I need to get better with answering my phone and being on time. As a true crime addict, I hear so many stories where the family, friends or coworkers of the murder victim knew something was off right away because the victim was usually prompt and always answered calls. So they were able to discover pretty much immediately that they are missing. With how horrible I am with responding to calls/texts, I think it would take like a good week before my family even knew anything was wrong. Lol I’m so serious. If I missed calls all day, they’d just think that was the norm. This teaches me to get better with my phone and my timeliness. A lesson to take away from this tragedy.

    The sad thing is that it seems that things escalated first over the issue of custody of the children, so this pos decided to kill the mother of his own children, and then kill himself when he couldn’t bare going to jail, effectively orphaning his children. He obviously never cared about them, and the custody issue was not because he wanted his kids, but because he couldn’t stand to not have all the power and control.

    Why don't cops ever turn on lights when searching a home. I understand using a flashlight UNTIL you turn on a light, but they could be missing blood drops or other evidence. It just never made sense to me!

      It's because they can't waste time looking for a switch and if the lights are turned on and then off, they are blinded temporarily and that's dangerous. Turning the lights on distracts you and it disables you if you lose them.

    • @TwoBs
      @TwoBs 2 месяца назад +14

      Because they’re investigating a scene as is.
      Most of the time they’re going around without gloves on as most calls aren’t expected to be a major crime scene, and their purpose when canvassing an area is to come in and inspect it as is without tainting anything with their own DNA or manipulation (ie: turning on lights). Sometimes, there are instances where it can’t be helped, such as footprints or touching something and accidentally leaving fingerprints before the area is known to be an active crime scene. So, to minimize everything as much as possible, they try to leave most of the major stuff alone … which lighting would fall under that category as they’d intentionally be manipulated how a scene is seen.
      Once photos and most evidence is collected without turning on lights, then they will usually turn them on and go over things again to see if anything was missed or is more visible. Every little detail at a crime scene is important, and lighting can very well be one of them with noting how a scene visually is before and after lights are added.

    I will never understand the mentalities of people who commit crimes like this. Not only is it twisted, it's moronic.
    What did all of this achieve? A mother is gone, the murderer didn't get anything they wanted, the co-conspirators are going to spend 20 years in prison each. The kids lost both parents and they have to live with the knowledge that their dad murdered their mom.
    You have to be a special kind of stupid to wake up one day and think committing a crime like this is somehow going to fix your problems.
