The Horrifying Story Of Matthew Trussler -
They say you never really know someone. And that was certainly the case for Matthew Trussler, who fell in love with cosplay model and actress Melissa Turner in 2017. What Matthew couldn’t have known then was that the woman he thought he knew, who had a thing for Halloween, dressing up and role-playing, was capable of turning harmless fantasies into the most terrifying of real-life horror stories. And one was about to play itself out in his very own life.

It’s disgraceful, it should be a life sentence.

@@qram281 What are you talking about?
First off; genetics-wise there were indigenous caucasoid skeletons found within the Early-Americas. But all of them were hunted to genocide by the _”Native Americans.”_
Secondly; when the European settlers first arrived, the French in Acadia and Louisiana (modern-day Canada and Louisiana Purchase Territories) and the British in the 13 colonies of New England (North Atlantic).
The French settlers landed on the North Atlantic coast, met the Mik’maq and Abenaki tribes and they mated. Thus becoming the Acadian people, a mixture of French Catholics, Abenaki and Mi’kmaq Folk religions (many converted though) banding together to become one tribe.
Which became very useful noting that the British would eventually invade and defeat the Acadian army, deporting most of the Acadians, Mi’kmaq and Abenaki to the colony of Virginia to work as slaves.
Afterwards, most were either sent back to France or to the French colony of Louisiana, where the Acadian’s became the modern Cajuns.
The British in Jamestown actually wanted a peaceful relationship with the tribes in the area but tribes like the Powhatan. Chief Opechancanough of the Powhatan would lead attacks upon the settlers and burn down their buildings. They would attack the unarmed settlers, completely unprovoked.
But they don’t bother telling these sorts of stories because they don’t the narrative you wish to portray.

If I'm tired after a hard day of work and I hear screaming or see a domestic I'm not going to try to poke my nose where it doesn't belong, I'll find my favourite comfy chair and relax, maybe read the news or something- Maybe I'd even close the curtain. It boils down to me not wanting to stick my nose into others affairs. If I rang the police every time somebody screamed or it looked like an argument was happening- my word wouldn't be worth a thing.
Besides, let's assume that the girl is being abused in the most overt and horrible way - sending the police around mixes my business with their business - you think an abuser won't lie at the door and take it out (it being their vindictive and terrible treatment of people who are weaker than they are) on the girl?
If domestic abuse was an easy-solve it would have been solved already, and fingers crossed in that regard.

@@eroero830 Yeah, it's easy to say knowing nothing happened to the girl (I'm assuming we would have heard otherwise), however, if she was tortured, r@ped and her corpse was removed from the house stuffed in a piece of luggage, your excuses would seem quite pathetic. There is sticking ones nose in a neighbors business (like calling the cops after you catch a glimpse of them injecting H while in their car on their own driveway and watching out for a fellow human in seeming distress...
...how often do we hear of a neighbor, after someone is murdered, say they heard screams but didn't want to interfere (or the like)....thankfully some do call the cops because it may be too late to save most but it gives the cops ample time and/or evidence to help catch the POS responsible. More than a few cases where the screams could have saved the victim if reported soon after, for instance the murder at a Lululemon where one employee killed/tortured a fellow employee after hours...screams were heard for a long while thru the store wall but the employee at the other side of the wall (a neighboring store employee) minded their own business... the victim literally could have been saved if her pleas of help and screams of agony were reported early on).

As an aside: adult women, when speaking testimony or recalling an event, don’t change their vocal pitch, fry, or inflection. Baby-talking is a maladaptive behavior where the speaker is attempting (consciously or not) to create the illusion of vulnerability since adults, especially men, have an evolutionary hardwiring to protect children who obviously have higher pitched voices. It’s speculated this is why women don’t have a voice change during puberty. Compare Melissa candidly talking over cam to the detective interviews. She doesn’t sound like Betty Boop until she realizes the police aren’t buying her story so she’s trying to manipulate the situation, elicit sympathy and avoid scrutiny. That voice shift in my experience keeps me vigilant for cluster B traits (BPD, HPD, NPD).If you’ve had the misfortune of witnessing an adult man try this strategy, he’s almost universally met with irritation and disgust.

Well, Murder 2 rarely gets life anyway. Like it has to be aggravating circumstances to get it, like it was a Murder 1 but the prosecutors can’t really prove it beyond a reasonable doubt or there was torture involved, and usually a previous record.
That said, I think the only reason she got 20 that they can’t solidly prove she purposely left him to die which could have bumped up another 10-20 years on her sentence. Also, this is why we need to take female-on-male abuse seriously because, while it is very rare for the female abuser to kill her male victim, it is still a possibility. There is no real support of victims of mental/emotional abuse regardless of gender. That is assuming that Melissa never got physical with Matthew before (I think she was considering her reaction realizing she killed him), but abusive relationships can escalate without going to going to a physical abuse stage.

I don’t know, There’s no one single behavior profile that every person follows when having commuting a murder. Self defense or not. I could see it being an incredibly shocking and world shattering experience having realized you just took someone’s life even if it was your only option. I could see people being scared to death that they won’t be believed. It’s happened many times in battered women cases. Years of mental and physical abuse can take a mental toll on your where your self worth and feelings of whether people will condemn you or not can be a massive weight on your shoulders. I’m sure there are tons of women in prison for having committed murder in self defense because their behavior after the fact didn’t fit the profile of believability. Whether they got scared and tried to hide it, committed overkill due to an overwhelming mental break (i.e. continued to stab or shoot after the immediate threat is over and death has occurred) etc…
However, in this case, she’s obviously full of it. We will never know why she did this to his poor guy. Let’s hope she serves the full 20.

I was born and raised in Tampa and it's crazy when you hear cases like this that are right down the road from you. My heart goes out to this young man's family. There's so much darkness in this world. Thankfully there's also light and channels like this shine a light on that Darkness. When I read the comments section I realized and remind myself there a lot more people who are good than bad. I just look forward to the day we're in heaven away from all of this. Until then I'm going to enjoy my life with my family and friends and do my best to stay away from the darkness. Of course I'm writing this as I'm watching a murder Channel. Kind of bizarre I know

This girl is a straight selfish narcissist . Again another me, my and I . Once people get a little taste of power it goes to their head in some cases . I did notice though she seemed to have gained a few pounds during the trial. If you succeed in life or are popular please help those not so lucky. Also if you have reached a massive goal that changes your life and makes you successful dont forget what you were , who you were and where you come from because you really never know if that will change or disappear as fast as it came. One last thing never crap on people or push people off on your way up the ladder of life because you never know when someone will do it to you and you may need those peoples help one day maybe.

Although, devastatingly accurate, it is primarily OTHER MEN that ridicule victims of domestic violence that happen to be men, not only inhibiting them from reporting it (out of fear of being told to "man up"), but by judges (overwhelmingly male) not taking male victims of DV as seriously as their female counterparts. Our society must alter the historical construct of how we view DV, to include making female-on-male and male-on-male violent abuse (especially pertaining to domestic partners) just as valid and perpetrators sentenced accordingly. The ridiculously brief prison sentences currently issued to male abusers is another matter for another thread.
