Hi Martin and Sharon, another winner as usual. I bet it smelt divine. Whenever i used treacle i used to put my tablespoon over the had flame, then stick it in the treacle and it would fall off the spoon.
Ooh, I can just imagine the lovely Christmassy aroma filling your kitchen. The pud looks so appetising and will, I'm certain, be so tasty and flavourful. Thank you for sharing. All the best, Annie. 😸
I can smell that from here in Thailand. It looks delicious. I made my Christmas pudding about a month ago, using Delia's recipe from a recipe book my wife gave me thirty odd years ago. I wish I had a pressure cooker. I had to steam it for eight hours. And on Christmas day it will be a further two ours. But it's worth it. All my grown up family had a stir and a Thai sixpence sized coin wrapped in foil I'll slip in when I depot it. Christmas is coming. The goose is getting fat..........😊
Great recipe. It’s not dark because it needs a lot more cooking. In a pressure cooker 2 hours with another 30 mins on the day. In a normal boil/steam method for that size you’d be looking at 8-10 hours with 2-4 more on the day for a rich, dark pudding!
Loved this, took me right back to my childhood stirring the pud and making a wish. I was the only child around the table and always managed to find the sixpence in my dish.Jxx
Oh you make me miss Christmas in Scotland. There’s no place like home for the holidays. Folk are bundled up like they’re in the North Pole in Florida today and it’s not even 32F….lol.
Great looking pud, a tip I got from Grannie- along side your own tip for the black treacle was actually put the complete tin of black treacle in a couple of inches of hot water to "slacken it up a bit" Muscovado sugar is nice dark and rich too but I do appreciate budgets are tight and everyone is cost conscious.- a great strength of your channel!!
I've been waiting to see a good Christmas pudding recipe and also to learn how long to cook it for in a pressure cooker. You fulfilled both of my wishes. Thank you.
Hell sharon and Martin firstly may I say all my family and friends love you all but a massive thank you for your truley lovly Xmas pudding recipe it looks amazing and I’ve been waiting for this one you explain it so well so thank you again from your number one fan angela❤
If using Pyrex, always make sure its heatproof Pyrex. We always thought ALL Pyrex was heatproof, until we then had 2 shatter as made toad in the hole! And it goes EVERYWHERE! Boozy pud... i'm inviting myself round yours for christmas 😂😂🎄🎅🏻 what with the xmas cake & xmas pud ..Yum yum!!
I have been making Christmas pudding for many years and never follow a set recipe. I eliminate too much sugar relying on the natural sugar of the dried fruit and I add grated carrots and apple. The black treacle and I use bicarbonate of soda helps to darken the pudding as does extensive steaming. Your recipe and cooking method is great for inexperienced cooks.I enjoy the joy you exude cooking together.
Looks delicious. My nan used to make them a year in advance. Every so often she put some booze in it. It's the booze that keeps it in date. Could eat that now!
Hi both, another lovely informative vlog, we're not too fond of Xmas pudding, but I love watching how easy you make things look ,much love to you both, Sue & Ben ( Woodhall Spa)xx
Hi Sharon my mum always made our Christmas pudding, we would all have a stir and make wish, she would then put thrupenny bits in and sixpences, she also put a small bottle of Guinness in , unfortunately she doesn't make them anymore, she would make between 7,8 puds every year for all the family she is now 97 bless her and its to much now she has passed down her recipe.xx
Since growing up, I’ve always been the only one in the household that eats Christmas pudding or Christmas cake… so I’ve never made either.. And I don’t normally bother buying them just for me. I have picked up a tiny pudding for me this year… oh I’m the only one who eats mince pies too 🤷🏼♀️
❤thank you, so glad we dont have smellovision😂. Your recipes are so good Sharon and i love the helping hand of Martin😊. You cant beat home made food. I know everyone doesnt always have time, but the recipes are quick and simple but blimin gorgeous. Another classic video

Thank u both I was thinking if I could do a Christmas pudding and now u answered me love the videos u both are fantastic u make me laugh and I enjoy watching all of your videos many thanks stu
The longer you cook it the darker it gets. I only know that my Mum boiled it with every opportunity, and Guinness was also included plus a grated apple. By the way the cakes and pudding were made in October, and never treated with alcohol. They held. Alcohol was too expensive, hense A small bottle of Guinness.
was the same in our house! stir and make a wish, great memories!
Christmas pudding, mince pies and freshly baked warm sausage rolls.... the holy trinity of Christmas food.
Another great informative video, learning a lot from you guys, Thanks.X💕🏴
