Goty 2024, we got totk this year. Personally I'm hypest for AC6 this year. If dd2 ends up being this year too, then 2023 best gaming year ever.
The most difficult part of playing sorcerer, is deciding between the practical spells that will actually be good in any situation, and all the things that look super cool but take 10 years to cast which will likely result in you just having to punch something to death if you're solo.

I remember a friend telling me that if I wanted to have an absurd magic bow build, I needed to level Sorcerer to 200 first. After playing Sorcerer, I realized something: why do I even need a magic bow?
Magic archer skills cast faster and s.h.r.e.d. ^^
More like “Why need a magic bow at all when you can have a machine gun that spits out rockets for a Blast Arrow bow?” Ranger and Sorcerer are AMAZING!

@@aquilliusranger2137my 400 explosive arrows are here with me just on a leisurely stroll. Don't mind the mules going by you with enough explosive arrows to take out everything underneath any mountain.
Magick Archer is fun and all if you wanna solo shit since you're the dedicated all-in-one build, but who the fuck cares, I cast die instantly.
I mena. Majick Archer can use a Staff and Bow and you CAN use focused bolt. Just saying.

Just discovered this game, and playing Sorcerer reminds me of those scenarios where you have to defend a channeling caster to decide victory in the battle, only in this case, we ARE the one casting the deciding spell.

Idk what it is but something about Dragon’s Dogma just hits so much differently. Like the atmosphere, world, soundtrack, party chit-chat and just everything about it evokes a sense of wonder and joy in me that no other game does. My first play through of Skyrim is the only thing I can think of that comes close, but even that has faded away when Dragon’s Dogma’s feeling hasn’t. So excited for the next one
It's because it's a Western RPG game viewed through the lens of the Japanese. Dragon Quest is pretty similar although that was directly taking off of Dungeons and Dragons proper. It just hits different.
What's great about this game is that it is Single-player, because that means they can allow for much power fantasy and not worry about balancing around several real players. Many modern games have forgotten how fun it can be to have that power fantasy because everything is all about multiplayer nowadays.
I'd say it's more the studio Not the fact that it's single player. And what you have said I agree with, definitely need to be able to get strong and just be powerful. Live out the fantasy side of games. Dragons dogma reminds me of Outward. Except outward is less forgiving and incorporates traveling the land as most of its gameplay is walking/sprinting to the next area(s)
Huh, just realized some similar things about Starfeild and Outward. Both are exploration and traveling/walking sims and how simply good Outward is in those regards makes Starfeild look.... Oof
I really wish I didn't have that come to mind. I was meh it's a 6.5 at best with Starfeild, now.... Im deleting it. It's bad. How can dozens of games 8+ years old be better in even the most basic ways.

People said hogwarts legacy was the first magic only combat in any game and they were dead wrong. No matter how hard I try to use other classes in dragons dogma sorcerer always pulls me back to it.

Sucks that Hogwarts Legacy's magic system also sucks. Like there's an infinite amount of games with better magic systems then that game.

@@yaqubebased1961 Dragons Dogma, Dragon Age, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fable series, Wizards of Legend, Magicka 2 and Terraria off the top of my head. Thats all personal opinion but I believe that they all do magic better than Legacy.

God, you make sorcerer look so cool, it's a shame that I love crawling on enemies like a little cockroach so much. I should really give it a try next time I reinstall.
Both Yellow and Blue are always pretty cool…except for Mages, kinda sad to see it being overshadowed by Sorcerer.

Bro I got so attached to my main pawn sorcerer Aya. She definetively takes her time to launch high spells, but oh boy when she does, it is priceless, specially because I play Warrior. I am having goosebumps just by remembering her destroying dragins with a high gicel out of nowhere.

Been a while since I commented on one of your vids but wanted to say love the way the channel is branching out. Ironically I pick a dogma vid to say that on but thats more due to my love for this game. The dragons crown vids in particular have been pretty funny to me but also fun lookin to play. Same for the nioh vids. while the nioh series is personally my least liked "souls like" i had a lot of fun with it. definitely would watch some more vids of that or other souls likes.

Recent Dragon's Dogma content isn't what I expected to see today.
Game is from 2012, and still has the best character creation and cool/badass looking spells imo
I like to think that all sorcerers dual class as a monk just for 1 specific enemy type.

This game by far has some of the best sorcerer/mage gameplay out there.
In many games mages feel more like warriors than proper casters.
Sorcerer is somehow both really hype and badass, while simultaneously being really boring and easy. The spells you cast are awesome and make you feel like a god, but at the end of the day you're just finding the good spot to hide while you cast spells every battle, or jumping around spamming holy focus bolt if you *really* want to turn your brain off.
Honestly I wouldn't change anything though, they fill their role perfectly and add to one of the best magic systems in games, and nothing will ever match the feeling using High Bolide for the first time did.

Disagree. Spells that do average damage should have high knockback and cause stunning. To build distance so you can use the more powerful spells. Other options make the lighting whip not take for ever to come out. Make a spell that makes your staff send out powerful shockwaves with melee attacks. I don’t think sorcerer should be sitting ducks with all there spells.
With what I've seen of DD2, seems like the sorcerer won't be so stuck like in the first game.

The meteors is the biggest scratcher of just that spot for me.
Best part about sorcerer is when casting bolide and more than 60% of your meteors manages to land directly on the boss.
