No lead is safe against that Warriors team at the end of the day.. the easy solution would be for the Warriors to push the pace to the point Shaq can’t even keep up. So when he has to sit, it’s all on Kobe and the Warriors can really run the score up before he even comes back in.
Even if your making all these 3's every possession the game is stopping because Shaq is getting fouled every time. The 3 point shot was the difference maker for Golden State because they were getting stops and make 3's. Crazy seeing NBA players argue. . . . Missing the real arguing points. Style of play? The Shaq led Lakers played the halfcourt Triangle offense, throw the ball down to Shaq posting up to start the offense= slower paced offense, less shot attempts, lower scoring output. ** 2003 SA Spurs beat that Lakers team in the WCF 4-2 because they played an uptempo offense. had more scoring opportunities.** The GS Warriors with those players, played an uptempo offense= more shot attemps, more fast break points, more open 3's, less fouling. Shaq becomes more of a liability than an asset, just because of the fast paced Warriors. Prediction? GS would beat those Lakers 4-1, or 4-2 Styles make fights! 💯👑
Nick Young's argument is valid and they didn't want to acknowledge it. If Sacramento took the Lakers to a Game 7 with that roster, imagine changing their PG to SC, SG to Klay and SF to KD. Easy clap
Sacramento had defenders that hustled big time. That year if they went to the NBA Finals they would have won the championship. Also they had Peja and Tokilou. Two of the best 3 pointers in the league that year. Webber at power forward was great and Bibby couldn't miss any shots. Best series we have ever seen
The Rockets took the warriors to game 7 and won because the rockets missed 27 consecutive 3 pointers. Nobody could’ve seen that coming. That’s how the warriors won.
Thay sac team was a problem because all 5 can score and they had multiple shooters starting and coming off the bench with turkoglu and bobby Jackson....Steph can't hide on offense and they would make draymond take a lot of the shots they will play off dray and trap whoever when dray is involve in the pick n roll

Nick would have won the argument if he knew this. The ONLY reason why the Lakers advanced to a game 7 versus the Kings is because of poor refs. Go look at the documentary on RUclips about the refs! They called it the WORST game EVER officiated in the NBA🤨
Nick Young should have asked Kenyon who was guarding Shaq in the 2002 NBA finals when the kings took the Lakers to 7 games. Warriors with KD and Steph are the best team ever and I don’t like the warriors at all.
It's funny that kenyon brought up rockets missing 27 threes and completely forgets that the refs gave the Lakers 27 free throws in the 4th quarter against the kings 😂
@xDaPrincex I'm talking about the 2002 Lakers. If you haven't seen any videos on it, I would recommend searching one up, the fouls against the kings in the fourth quarter alone were so bad it was hilarious. There's a channel that talks about the 2002 kings and the infamous game 6 against LA. Their channel name is Synthetic sports. It's a good video that you should check out if you get the chance.
And it’s insane that Kenyon is avoiding the fact that it’s been publicized that the officials pretty much purposely threw that game 7 for the lakers to win
That’s cap. They were sat down to show the fouls they were missing and held accountable for it. If you got refs deliberately missing calls and games are being lost, yes you call them out.
@@davidestick9936Nick didn’t deflect at all. Kenyon just realized he didn’t have a point so he kept repeating the same thing. The narrative with the Lakers team is always that nobody could touch them but history says otherwise.

Swag won this argument!!!. Old timers always want to use the stats when it works in there favor.. Since they want to use stats, the most important stat is, Warriors avg 116pts per game to the Lakers 106. The Warriors turned the ball over less and shot a higher FG percentage. So if you use the Stats Warriors would win.
can't even use stats to compare these teams, the rules are different, the game is looser today and have way more possessions, that why with these arguments I always ask what rules we playing with, because that matters, for instance the Steve Nash Suns were good but they wasn't the best team in the 2000's, but are probably the best team from that time to put in todays NBA with their style of play
I am 41 yrs old and I have lived in three eras of NBA, 90s, 2000, 2010s. There is no way that warriors KD was going to stop Shaq and Kobe in that three peat run. Basketball is more than just shooting. It's scheme and strategy. Phil Jackson would have shut down KD and force step and klay to beat them. They would have no chance with Kobe and Shaq.

Just like the 04 pistons and Larry browns strategy shut down the lakers and blew them out in some games pretty much with their deffence/psychicall game play, running the clock, team chemistry, that Detroit grid energy would be the same destiny for 2017 golden state warriors and would lose 4-2 easy!
With Shaq down low they would put the Warriors in foul trouble so they wouldn't be running all game. And for the hoopers out there the game goes fast then slow its hard for you to get in rhythm. Why do keep saying Shaq is getting fouled every time. Refs did not call fouls for Shaq. He was so big that he didn’t get foul calls; refs were awful to Shaq.

** 2003 SA Spurs beat that Lakers team in the WCF 4-2 because they played an uptempo offense. had more scoring opportunities.**
The GS Warriors with those players, played an uptempo offense= more shot attemps, more fast break points, more open 3's, less fouling. Shaq becomes more of a liability than an asset, just because of the fast paced Warriors.
Prediction? GS would beat those Lakers 4-1, or 4-2

The 2018 warriors would win because they’re playing Shaq off the court eventually as ludicrous as that sounds. Defensively, between the pace of play, the spacing created, and forcing him to guard the perimeter until he shows he can consistently do it; they’d wear him down until he was ineffective and blitz Kobe so that he either gets the ball out or takes badly contested shots.

@@the_p.s.a6384I doubt that since technically that lakers played against archaic 90s style offense, except the kings and pistons. if the kings nearly beat them what you think Golden State would do? They didn't play nobody in 01. Iverson single handedly won a game with Snow, Mckie, Hill, and broken Dikembe 😂

61 to 29 is damn near a 90 point difference
61 shots taken at 38% = 23 made = 69 points
29 shots taken at 48% = 13.92 round down 13 = 39 points
30 point difference , what you have to take into consideration is all those fouls slow down the pace of the game and all the physicality trying to defend Shaq equals more fatigue for the Warriors who were undersized which means if you played small ball , Shaq is putting Draymond and KD in foul trouble and there goes your best playmaker and scorer

Yo. In that decade, the West was a grind. LA, Portland, Sacramento, Dallas, T Wolves, Utah, San Antonio were the constants. Seattle was in the mix too for the 7 or 8 seed but there were six playoff regulars in the West. Portland was very talented.
Kobe mentioned in an interview with Ernie Johnson how much Shaq would influence this exact match up. He's so dominant that he would bring the game to a stand still and force teams to play slower.
Your only option on offense is to try to bring Shaq up out of the key, but then the Lakers could simply run zone and keep Shaq planted near the baseline.
Shaq is literally the most dominant for a reason. He would break your team down by himself.
