Never even looked at Aphra nor did i understand her. Now i played some games online and it´s like i discovered a whole new area in Star Wars Unlimited i never played before and thats super fun! Mostly played Vigilace/Command/Villainy style decks, Bossk/Blue or some Aggro sprinkled in. As you said so many cards i had to read first what they do ^^
So glad you're enjoying her! I love the slightly out there characters. they keep the game so fresh. My next job is to try and crack the new Gar Saxon :)
Been messing around with yellow aphra the last couple weeks! Glad to see her get some love. She’s the most ‘powerful’ leader we have on 5 and that goes far too unnoticed
Nice video, I love Aphra and I'm gonna play this deck and do some changes. I have a question for you.Why put Doctor Evazan? Am I missing any interaction?
Thanks for watching! There’s a few reasons for Doctor Evazan. He’s underworld, he’s good value as a 3/3 shielded for 2 and he’s in the Doctor Aphra comics. Having said all that I think Crafty Smuggler is tempting instead. The stats aren’t a as good but boy does Dr evazan’s bounty hurt when it goes off!
On the return and reveal, discard is open information, and based on these rules and generally standard procedure in most card games I've played, they'd get to see your choices and the one that is returned. Probably want to ask a judge but id bet on the answer being correct.
@@toyznthehoodthis all comes under open information (Comp rules 1.17) so the cards in players discard piles are open information. So the choice of which 3 cards you are picking at random from is too. As the random choice could also be done by rolling a dice or some other method and not just by turning the cards upside down, shuffling and asking your opponent to pick one. Most of us do the latter though as it feels intuitive from Magic: The Gathering.
Reason why you need to reveal them at the start of the ability it states cards with different names so you must show that are different name but when resolving you can flip them face down and shuffle them since it’s random.
Congratulations! A friend recently placed top 8 in one of our showdowns with Aphra. But there shouldn't have been a top cut at all. Showdowns are casual events and in the tournament rules they shouldn't have top cuts. 4.4 in the rules: *Note: As a reminder, top cuts only occur during Competitive-tier events
Store Showdowns count as casual events which allows the stores more room for choices. The store may decide whether or not to have a top cut. Both is okay.
You have the obligation to tell what card you got back because the discard pile is public knowledge per rule, so if one card is missing the opponent had to know which one.
They would have known what I took and they know what I get back but I don’t see why I would need to tell them what I got. It’s a bit pedantic but I don’t think I’d be required to tell them what I drew or to remind them what I first took. To be clear I wouldn’t play like that! I’m here to have fun!
@@toyznthehood Yep the card isn't clear on that, but per rule 1.17.1 you can't do something that will prevent your opponent of not having the content of the discard and logicaly its evolution.
@@aucroiseurinterstellaire4228 Someone explained to me elsewhere that there's hidden areas in the game and basically the random cards don't go into that area at any point so it's always public

Appreciate your upfront honesty so many videos people first place in Showdown!!!!! And it's like 8 players lol
There’s definitely a variety in players. The one I’m off to on Saturday is between 32-40 so that will be interesting

I absolutely agree! It's a lot of work to get her set up to arrive as a 5/5 but I think with more cards it will only get easier
This is peak "casual" deck discussion. I love it, great job
Thank you! This game is so much fun
That restock play had to feel so good for that player against Aphra. Super fun deck!
Aphra blue player here ! Love to see other version coming out the woods :)
Thanks for the “write up”. Interesting to see a non control version of the deck, as I’ve only watched Blue/Yellow versions being played.
Thank you for watching! I think the blue yellow might be a bit more consistent but then blue anything is pretty solid!

@@toyznthehood yep, I’m scared about he’s bounty effect.
I’m trying with Bossk and Kintan intimidator instead of Criminal muscle
That's a good shout. I've not played with Kintan Intimidator much but I should give it a go

That sounds right. I suppose it’s on them to remember the missing card but that feels a bit pedantic and this is definitely more about having fun

Thanks for the games in both rounds we played. I had fun. I believe that the pick from three is not revealed as it does not say to do that.

Cheers! that's interesting - I'm pretty sure the one this weekend is planning a cut too. Hopefully no one will complain about having too many games!

Criminal Muscle doesn’t work on Boba Fett’s Armor since it’s unique 10:29
Oh gosh. You’re right. And it’s written there pretty clearly. I might need to take him out - although he’s pretty good for shield popping
Given you said you'd be happy using Bamboozle though, that could work for you instead. 🙂
@@Maakeff I think that will be the one. then i can keep my cost spread by adding in the DL Blasters
