  • Curacao and California played in the 2023 Little League World Series Championship Game!
    Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
    If you’re looking for high quality sports content, then this is the channel for you! I’ve covered Baseball (NCAA, LLWS, MLB), Football (NCAA, NFL), Softball (NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), and much more!
    The best part of my work as a RUclipsr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other RUclipsrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
    One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
    I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

      Explain this to me if you don't mind? What is the loser bracket?

    • @loganleroy8622
      @loganleroy8622 Год назад +29

      If you lose a game you go to the losers bracket and play against other teams that have also lost. If you lose in the losers bracket, you’re eliminated from the competition. The farther along you win before you lose the fewer games you have to play in the loser’s bracket. The winner of the front side of the bracket waits in the finals while the other teams in the loser’s bracket fight to stay alive an ear a spot in the finals.

    • @norcalpatriot
      @norcalpatriot Год назад +13

      Yeah once you’re in the losers bracket, every game from there on, is basically an elimination game. Every game is a fight for survival and to play another day.

      And to think that one of the players for El Segundo California pull it off. They were down 12:55 until all of a sudden right at the bottom of the sixth inning that was the end of it after Curacao tied it. The Grand slam may have started it but the walk-off home run finished it. Now you see why little kids love to play baseball it's in their blood, and the kid that hit that home run can win the game for that team in California most likely will wind up in Major League baseball playing for the Los Angeles dodgers.

      Yeah had this conversation last season with a few as well. The west region is ruthless if you consider the quality of baseball that comes out of those specific areas. All four major areas involved in the west region are extremely competitive when it comes to baseball and the amount of talent that comes out of those areas to both college and/or the pros is staggering.
      If the west coast could finally get a solid college baseball squad again in southern CA it would be competitive almost immediately. As it stands all the top tier CA kids who want to stay somewhat local head to either Oregon State or, if grades are good enough, Stanford. But USC, Arizona State, UCLA, and Fullerton should be top 10 schools yearly but have really dropped off. USC especially. They used to be dominant but have been awful over the past decade or two.

    I hate the format cause Chinese Taipei only lost 1 game (to a team they crushed the game before 9-1) just like California. Did you see how Chinese Taipei crushed Texas 10-0. All this because their coach decided to use their best pitcher as a closer instead of a starter in their first playoff game. Fen Chen-Jun deserved an opportunity to play in the finals. Him pitching against Lappe would have been electric.

      That ‘s the whole point. 1 dominant player doesn’t not win a championship. Teams win championships and coaches need to strategize how they use their pitchers to make sure you don’t get caught in a game with non-competitive pitching. Same thing happened to Curaçao in the championship last year. They burned their best pitchers in the previous game and had nothing in the championship.

      It’s not perfect, but it is far better than the days when you were eliminated with one loss. The tournament is set up for the USA and International finals to be played on Saturday and the World Championship on Sunday. It is driven by (you guessed it) TV. We seldom see a world championship game where both teams can start their ace which also isn’t fair to the kids.
