“I couldn’t find one guitar that could do everything I needed it to do.” “Okay great, what do you have here?” “A solid body guitar with one pickup and one volume control. I didn’t even use an effects pedal until recently lol.”
Well it sounds weird but it's his signature guitar so I think it's cool to have your own configurations. I personally plan to remove the neck pickup from one of my guitars and reduce the electronics. I just want to use a volume knob on my only pickup as well and I think that's cool!
They have the coolest guitar tech, I met him when he was working with Pierce The Veil. He told me his son is a drum tech and they worked together through a few warped tours` while his son was in High School.
Ive seen them multiple times after common courtesy and they sound amazing live. I dont care if it's a boring rig as long as it sounds amazing. And if them saving money means more tours, and better life for them. Im happy.
Those LTD signature models look absolutely awesome. Hopefully they'll do the baritone version as a production model too! Been looking for something like that for years.
i bet the main reason neil's signature model has one pickup and one volume knob is because of tom delonge's signature guitar, he does have blink 182 tattooed on his knuckles, not taking any jabs at him, i would love to be able to afford neil's sig LTD but i love how blink inspired so many musicians.
I feel like at this point, it's Premier Guitar's duty to take these rig rundowns involving Fractal, Kemper and Line6 solutions to the next level. It isn't interesting to hear over and over how a guitar player was convinced about the sound. Dive into the preset set up etc and ,maybe the personal approaches to how they use the gear.
Kind of disappointed to see Neil doesn't play the ESP LTD EC-1000 model anymore. He was the reason I got one years ago. I still love the guitar though. Sounds great.
Every second question *turns to guitar tech* man.. im no "star" but there is nothing about any of my guitars, strings, amps and or effects i do not know or rely on someone else for.. thats part of the love and enjoyment
Paolo Gregoletto was the first bassist you did a rig rundown for that was using a Kemper. And Nolly from Periphery was using an Axe FX, so not the first to use a digital modeller
I used to own the same flanger as Kevin, the BOSS BF-3. I used it a bit differently though. If you dime the level but zero everything else, it gives you a real unique slapback delay.
Red ESP slayed, I love it. Gus from Death Angel uses the same one, all white. Dual binding, looks super good. But ESP will price it so out of reach it’s ridiculous.
Billy Bowyer “not really” uhhh actually yes really. I’ve seen these guys and their live tones were some of the best I’ve heard. I agree that it makes for a boring rundown but a better show for the band is more important.
No disrespect but he didn't give Tom Delonge any credit for just having a volume knob on his fender strat. I thought he would represent the single knob for Tom. I would have done the same thing put a single knob because Tom is prolly my favorite song writer
Dante Phoenix my friends band has one and they sound nice. Problem is they aren't affordable at all for the average player. They go for about 2400. I spent 1400 on my rig which is a lot already, being that my band is basically just a local band.
Ryan Lobes McGee a kemper is 1600. Not exactly cheap but if that’s a starting point for a touring band it’s worth every penny. That’s being said I’ve seen multiple bands with kempers including adtr and they sound fantastic
I use an Axefx live and it’s a game changer. You really can’t tell a difference live and it’s so easy. Plug in an XLR cable for foh, plug in the floorboard to change your presets and its good to go. I’ve seen a ton of bands lately and they all have seemed to make the switch to Kempers
Ironic they are talking about "Common Courtesy" album and music starts blasting, guy walks in front of camera, tech starts sorting for tools beside them doing the interview. Unreal
I understand the shipping issue with costing money . But Fuckin everyone nowadays is doing the kemper profiling . There's nothing like an actual Head and Amp setup miked properly .

Matthew Flowers exactly
Lol this comment made me laugh then I read the fuckin name what are the chances
And through an EMG active as well. Even he admitted you could put that pickup on a shovel and it'd be ready to record.

Kevin seems like a really laid back dude. They all do!
awesome rig rundown!
ADTR are a great band to watch live!
it's always good to have the best pot.
Guitars and weed are the best

3 years and still waiting on it

On the My Top 5 podcast, he said it's pretty much a cross between the Tom Delonge Strat and a Randy Rhoads Les Paul Custom
I love that red custom LTD. What a beauty.
ive been waiting for this for like 3 years THANK YOU

exactly. we need to be looking at the patches themselves
YES!
lol @ Perry's "holy shit" @19:28
I hate having to add parts to my gibsons in order to get that single pickup single vol sound.
I'm still searching..
I can't tell if Neil is just a little bit on the spot or really baked haha
drumd00d both lmao
Yes he was awkward.
Playing Ibanez, ESP, Fender Tele and Baritone, amongst others all get me high. 😎
This is definitely A Rig To Remember
That guitar is perfect single cut with one volume one humbucker
Chris Lohr My Squier Jim Root Telecaster probably sounds better. 2 humbuckers lol
They need to do Parkway Drive.
Yes!
ruclips.net/video/yJ0Dzbd-kCg/видео.html here you go!
Tom Delonge vibe on the still of signature guitar! Of course, that's his biggest influence.
I love me some single hum axes.
Their guitar tech really cares about his job.
He can't help but pay attention to the interview with Kevin at the end lol
Kind of disappointed to see Neil doesn't play the ESP LTD EC-1000 model anymore. He was the reason I got one years ago. I still love the guitar though. Sounds great.
hmm disrespect your surroundings, i guess

A 25.5 inch scale ESP Eclipse? Damn I might really have to buy one.
Never listened to this band but I have mad respect for that Descendents shirt👍
Just subscribed for the rig rundown. Poked on the most interesting looking video I saw on the first screen. Good for that dude. I'll keep loking.
Love the queens of the Stone Age shirt!
Jesse Lawson love the descendents shirt

love how they gave the legend of randy a shout out.
i love the fact the he uses a jim root signature Jazzmaster
“Eric Clapton has my guitar and I want it back......dude.”
Man, im actually excited for the sig model
Do CODE ORANGE!
Billy Buckets i second that
i third that
Hell yes
Love your videos, John...killer playing, brother
Damn that silver prs custom. Beautiful guitar.
Red ESP slayed, I love it. Gus from Death Angel uses the same one, all white. Dual binding, looks super good. But ESP will price it so out of reach it’s ridiculous.
Damn those PRS guitars... Can I please have the flame maple top baritone please??
A Walk to Remember
Would love an updated rundown, Kev is running all Music Man stuff now
Ikr I swear every album cycle he has something new and equally sick
@@nathanielcava4128 Heck it seems like he might be using some Revv amps now!
ruclips.net/video/5X-VRgSGB3U/видео.html Not his main rig but still pretty cool!
@@noizewriter3324 That was rad, thanks for sharing
Yeah and also considering that Josh left now, a new bass rig rundown would be cool to see
God, those PRS customs at the end are way too nice to be on the road!!!
Still waiting for the baritone. I love my nw44 and i need that red one
The PRS baritone obviously looked long in hindsight. It almost looked like a Bass if not for the 6 strings.
Tube amps over modelers all day, the variance in room to room is part of the fun
In the studio yes, on tour, umm no...
@@theiranxican7412 Nah, most metal/punk records are recorded on modelers now too as well.
Love the block inlays
Finally!
I like the SE and the polka dot.
would totally buy that baritone model
Weird coming back to this video now after what Josh did
My favorite band lets go
Damn that white ESP is a killer single cut
12-56 for drop c and on a fender scale? Damn those high strings must feel super tight id be scared they would snap while tuning
Very nice! Thanks for this video
Been waiting so long for this
Aftermath is the best sounding bridge for metal I think. SD Back Winter for neck.
i’m still EMG 81 🤘
@ Can’t argue with that. Haha
Do Pearl Jam next! I always wanted a PJ Rig Rundown.
Ya but minus that POS leftist Eddie.
Do Kevin Shields!! Every pedalhead wants too see that one
Can't wait to get my hands on that white LTD.
First bassist with a Kemper? Paolo from Trivium?
esp has gone down hill since the e2 line i truely miss my 2006 eclipse
Good shit 👍🏿
ADTR 2024 rig please
74 les paul customs mint are 5 to 7k
But I want to know what's in the Yeti coolers
i love the fact the record in my home state
hellyeah
modeling amps makes for such boring rig rundowns
True dat...now let the fanboys try to beat the horse about how much more "convenient" they are
I mean... they are more convenient? What makes for a boring video makes for a much better rig for the band.
not really...no character to any of the rigs granted the guitars are cool
Billy Bowyer “not really” uhhh actually yes really.

“Been in the works for a long time.” “Nothing was exactly what I needed” ... removes a neck pickup from an EC1000 and calls it a signature ...
still a different scale length though
