Wanna say my biggest complaints about False Son is the piercing laser not piercing and the visuals for his M1 don't match the hitbox. You can see the little wind trail the club leaves behind and see it go through enemies but in reality you just didn't hit them meanwhile with merc, acrid and loader they work just fine. Other than that had the most fun as him than Seeker or Chef.
Seeker has some of the craziest mobility out of the box short of Loader but unlike Loader she has insane invuln, better barrier gen, OK range and works well with pretty much all of the items that aren't garbage. Haven't tried her on E8 where Sojourn needs more item support to abuse the s but on any lower difficulty she is easily top 2 for me.
Nah, seeker built right is legitimately invincible but it takes time and hunter horn equipment.false son? Goated.all the healing items have far more utility since they give him dmg, his charge pops bands every time and his Lazer with seeds is a oh shit button from legend.i was running shit as him in a way I couldn't before.they do take time to build, but once built they ALMOST rival engy
The alt special for chef is actually fun to play with, the boosted dice is the burst damage chef needs and is way better than glaze at close range which when you think about how you use glaze, as a burst damage option that only does 1400% damage, a boosted dice does that damage with hitting 3 cleavers (and recalling them) and then some more with every additional cleaver, its as simple as using the boosted dice than rolling away (or into enemies)
@@rndThursday Think of it more like loader's punch, high damage at a fast speed despite needing to melee, spam m1 twice then you roll or sprint away since the cast time is so quick
@@RYZEN-4070-TI-SUPER-OC exactly chef melts bosses like crazy. I dont know what he was talking about putting him on C. Definetely A tier. not S but A. glade and seer does a lot of damage to tougher enemies and his utility is really good to get out of trouble. if his primary works like returns it would be TOO overpowered...So chef is totally fine the way it is.
Seeker: I'm biased against her default secondary, but despite that I still completely agree with your placement. Soul Spiral is a ridiculous combo with her utility. It passively giving barrier and periodic damage trivialises so much content in combination with being literally immune to enemies. Chef: I still do not know at all why they made the cleavers a drop down area control, when the primary for most survivors is usually just directly attacking the enemy. The mod helps smoothen his experience A LOT, and it matches him much better with ROR1's idea. I wish Yes Chef was better, maybe if they made its cooldown reduce when the boosted abilities hit enemies. False Son: By far my favourite survivor out of the three. Their item synergy with Growth, and their ability rotation with either special make them incredibly smooth to play (and with the default special, they are ultra powerful). I WISH his animations were smoother. Hopefully the animatiors can revise how he acts because right now he looks unfinished.
cleaver is not even a drop down area control, they do not deal damage as they spin at the point they stop at. they just.. stay there until you recall em.
You can actually use CHEFs utility right after using sear, and since you can fire your primary and special while rolling, properly chaining from sear into roll is actually quite satisfying and useful
@@rndThursday Something I've yet to see anyone talk about is how Chef's yes chef actually refunds all your cooldowns, so you can use Roll twice (which imo is his best ability) ALSO ALSO, if you use yes chef and IMMEDIATELY roll, you don't use the horrible spinning roll, you just use your normal roll. Pair that with boosted cleave and its not half bad. Emphasis on "half" bad. It's still bad. Buff sear, make cleavers better, chef is now way way way better.
I think captain and engi drop by 2 tiers in dlc because of the new stages being absurdly massive and requiring so much vertical mobility, i simply can not enjoy my favourite survivor (captain) because of the insanely large new maps, that and the new items adding bloat into the pool making moblity items rarer, as a captain main this dlc made me cry

I really believe that this changes are very much needed for the character and would improve the experience by a ton.
When you get more stacks of his m2 the fire rate goes up a shitton, probably doesn’t need another buff. I would like to be able to fire while sprinting, although false son is so darn strong already I don’t mind having that minor movement nerf.

The power of Yes, Chef! comes from Roll. There's some interesting tech theŕe. You can activate other moves while rolling, and Yes, Chef! resets your cooldowns. My main source of damage with him is using Roll to get in, Yes, Chef! while zooming, boosted cleaver into immediate Roll back out. You can also cancel out of Sear - and boosted Sear - with Roll. I honestly tthink Chef is underrated because of how dogshit his m1 feels. Also, you can get Lunar Spikes from Prayer Beads. I think. I had 5 spikes once despite having never even seen a Steak or Infusion (I will be cold in the grave before even thinking of picking up a Sone Flux Pauldron), and the little boost from beads is the only thing that could have done anything.
Thinking the same about Chef. Dealing with flying enemies becomes such a pain, especially on Eclipse where enemies gain movement speed. I don't play modded so I just take hungering gaze when I play him.
Idk man I like chef. I have the mod because my brother wants to use it but I stick with the primary because I like it. Double long distance piercing throw, put some bleed on that bad boy. Struggle to get up a small ledge. I like him.
You can use sear whilst dashing as chef. I'm not trying to grt his tier changed or anything lol, but nobody seems to know this. Use sear whilst you're dashing for extra dps. (Doesn't work with second helping for some reason though).
yes chef is very good, it refreshes the cool downs of roll and sear, and you can use roll while the yes chef animation plays, so to say "never get this ability" is missing out on potential play styles and tech. 4:24 also that is just straight up incorrect, you can cancel sear with roll, and throw cleavers while rolling to apply both cleaver and roll debuffs, without requiring to hit the enemy with roll.
oh based i didnt know about the roll + cleaver debuff working like that. however the fact that roll is the only ability you can use after sear to avoid the 1.5 seconds (or however long it is) of standing there staring at enemies is dumb as hell. chef still c tier for cooked
i feel like chef would be instantly better if three things were met: a: damage buff on sear b: range buff on sear c: the speed of sear having sear just come out faster and be useful around mid range would make it way more fun to use. i feel like they copied chefs abilites too much from the first game, not taking into account how different of a game that ror2 is. the only thing they changed was what abilities take up which slot, and the utility which thank god they did have glaze be melee ranged would be awful. they half committed to a melee character and so we get left with an awkward survivor with a long range primary, mid range special, and melee secondary and utility, while having no additional armor. the healing passive is just not enough to keep him alive at close range. thank you for listening to my ted talk.
yeah seeker seems kinda op with orbs. honestly i like the idea of false son just being kinda broken since he's the secret character and all. reminds me of old ps1 games where you'd unlock a secret end game character with just every stat maxed out
The false son is soooooo good because hes like captain, where he scales with specific stats. But unlike captain where he hits a cealing really quick, the false son takes much longer to reach his. Yes, eventually with health you will basically bottom out on spikes and lazer duration/ charge. But, get some back up mags and void cells and you're good.
I actually have fun playing Commando. Chef is only pain. Also you are way too harsh on Commando. He's not that bad. I'm not expecting to change anyone's mind in the RUclips comments section though.
Quick tip about the son is that you can take stone flux pouldron with minimal downsides thx to the growth mechanic (the speed penalty still kick in but it lefts you around the speed that you already have)
I personally don’t like the idea of False sun at the moment, yet another melee character who works better with ranged gameplay. I wish they would just add the slam attack into the default swing chain rather than hold 2 buttons down.
once they fix False Son’s slam attack bug that lets you aoe the entire map i hope they add an alternate that functions similarly with a slam that gets larger as you continue charging it.
i like Seeker cuz i like playing Rushdown characters but the damn the Levitating Anal Beeds/Zenyatta Orbs aren't working out for me, good to see her normal loadout so up tho
since chef has charges already I feel like they should just make his cleavers go the full distance no matter what and let him throw multiple cleavers at once. then they could pair his primary charge cooldown with the cleaver returning to the character and make attack speed just make the cleavers move faster.
If you find a single wungus and a repulsion plate printer seeker becomes the best survivor in the game but it isn’t very consistent. without repulsion I would only put seeker in a teir
commando is good and better than chef but his issue is he is waaaaaay to item dependant, if you dont get tri tip and crit he falls off and yes i'm fully aware those items are better on almost every other survivor but my point was he practically needs them otherwise he is dead in solo mid game and dead weight entirely in co-op but is he worse than chef? no, chef is complete ass to play in comparison and so clunky to play in general it felt like but that is just my opinion maybe some chef main is out there doing crazy stuff as chef but he seems terrible chef. but disregard all i said Commando is actually S+ tier and rndThurday just isn't sitting correctly on their chair to play them like a pro :^)
U can use all ur abilities while using the movement skill on chef which makes him a little better but he still is the worst survivor in the game rn imo
6:24 I kept bugging out whenever I used the m1+m2 slam ability whenever I jump before using it, it just bugs out and makes you hover animation locked until you jump agaun
That's actually the best way to play him early game because it ramps up in damage and aoe as you hold it. Basically can hit the whole map as you hover between opening chests.
Chef is a ton better once you start playing him like merc use shift (roller) get in an enemies face and shred them with cleaver *your not locked out of any abilities while roller is active* also fun fact any damage delt while using roller will apply roller *spice* debuff (Barbwire, using cleaver, et cetera)
I don't think you took into account how the chef can use his charge ability before using his secondary whilst keep the speed. So you get the proc damage of his speed boost on impact with enemies, and if you circle them, you build up flame damage. This is without taking into account you glazing enemies before going in for the kill. This survivor actually reminds me alot of a tf2 combo pyro gameloop. Don't rely on just one ability to do anything, use every one of his skills to weave in an out.
Yeah it's the same reason people hate arti. Artificer has high damage though, so her gameplay loop can feel a lot better. She has damage, and chef has healing. Idk, he still feels a bit weird.

although i am amenable to yes chef being better than i give it credit for (maybe ™️)
i feel like chef would be instantly better if three things were met:
a: damage buff on sear
b: range buff on sear
c: the speed of sear
having sear just come out faster and be useful around mid range would make it way more fun to use. i feel like they copied chefs abilites too much from the first game, not taking into account how different of a game that ror2 is. the only thing they changed was what abilities take up which slot, and the utility which thank god they did have glaze be melee ranged would be awful. they half committed to a melee character and so we get left with an awkward survivor with a long range primary, mid range special, and melee secondary and utility, while having no additional armor. the healing passive is just not enough to keep him alive at close range.
thank you for listening to my ted talk.
yeah seeker seems kinda op with orbs. honestly i like the idea of false son just being kinda broken since he's the secret character and all. reminds me of old ps1 games where you'd unlock a secret end game character with just every stat maxed out
The false son is soooooo good because hes like captain, where he scales with specific stats. But unlike captain where he hits a cealing really quick, the false son takes much longer to reach his. Yes, eventually with health you will basically bottom out on spikes and lazer duration/ charge. But, get some back up mags and void cells and you're good.
Artifact of command lysate cell chef = bomber plane and it is so fun with a few alien heads
Seeker can be indefinetly in sojourn, stack 10 repulsions, 6 teddy bears, and a few weeping funguses and you will literally outheal the DOT
I definitely underrated False son and seeker, at first I was comparing them to mucho to Railgunner and Voidfiend
Seeker is just great. I hope they keep making support characters
I actually have fun playing Commando. Chef is only pain.
Also you are way too harsh on Commando. He's not that bad. I'm not expecting to change anyone's mind in the RUclips comments section though.
Chef is the best survivor because I can commit arson without sacrificing mobility. Smh.
what arti wishes she was
Quick tip about the son is that you can take stone flux pouldron with minimal downsides thx to the growth mechanic (the speed penalty still kick in but it lefts you around the speed that you already have)
Commando has been my highest damage character by far at 1.8 billion damage dealt in a 45 minute round.
I was a commando hater till I picked up esense of heresy
I personally don’t like the idea of False sun at the moment, yet another melee character who works better with ranged gameplay. I wish they would just add the slam attack into the default swing chain rather than hold 2 buttons down.
once they fix False Son’s slam attack bug that lets you aoe the entire map i hope they add an alternate that functions similarly with a slam that gets larger as you continue charging it.
It would have to be an alternate primary. Maybe a stronger single swing that charges up?
Commando aint even bad fr bro hes a demon late
i like Seeker cuz i like playing Rushdown characters but the damn the Levitating Anal Beeds/Zenyatta Orbs aren't working out for me, good to see her normal loadout so up tho
since chef has charges already I feel like they should just make his cleavers go the full distance no matter what and let him throw multiple cleavers at once. then they could pair his primary charge cooldown with the cleaver returning to the character and make attack speed just make the cleavers move faster.
Chef is actually really good with a purity
I think that puts him a bit higher when holding purity
I like yes chef just to nuke bosses early with the empowered m1
You keep dissing commando when my baby has phase shotgun
this shotgun don't phase me uh (bars)
@@rndThursday okay okay, credit where it’s due. Bro cooking harder than gas stacks with ignition
the constant commando treatment is how i see loader imo
That chef mod was crazy, I like him but he his damage is so lacking compared to seeker and false son
As an engie main, engie went down a rank for how rare bungus became.
Playing False Son just makes me wish I were playing the paladin mod instead. I don't care how good he is, he just feels so jank to me
The built-in cleaver mechanic has got to be so annoying. When I first heard about it, I moved unlocking Chef way down the to-do list
planula seemed to give seeker infinite sojourn time, not sure if its the case after they changed the fps issues but it made her immortal
If you find a single wungus and a repulsion plate printer seeker becomes the best survivor in the game but it isn’t very consistent. without repulsion I would only put seeker in a teir
I play Commando because I like the feel, I know he ain't good compared to the others but that's not the point.
add on 2:22 drownd will NOT PROC tonic when in soul spiral. i almost got nuked when my debuffs clicked in
sojourn with planula and armour plating removes the downsides
RND fell off - 4 views in 1 minute
ive got like 5 bot comments so im basically famous rn 😎
@@rndThursdayerrmmmmm.... there's axchually only 2 🤓
Fryers are waiting

Chef's fire ability with corrupted missile (plasma shrimp) is nutty.
By itself, meh.
The false sun alternate special doesn't proc crit (at least when i tested it with 100% crit chance, it never critted)
You know you can hold down chefs movement to go faster right?
Two words:
Whip... and Cube.
still not a cube believer. but you got me on the whip smh
false son my beloved
I personally perfer the storm tweaks mod for chef you should check it out(just keep in mind it breaks with better chef primary)
I WILL not stand for this commando slander!
you will sit instead 😈
Glad to be a commando main🫡
commando is good and better than chef but his issue is he is waaaaaay to item dependant, if you dont get tri tip and crit he falls off and yes i'm fully aware those items are better on almost every other survivor but my point was he practically needs them otherwise he is dead in solo mid game and dead weight entirely in co-op but is he worse than chef? no, chef is complete ass to play in comparison and so clunky to play in general it felt like but that is just my opinion maybe some chef main is out there doing crazy stuff as chef but he seems terrible chef.
but disregard all i said Commando is actually S+ tier and rndThurday just isn't sitting correctly on their chair to play them like a pro :^)
Chef would be far better if he ACTUALLY cooked..... Hope someone makes a server-side mod that make chef kills drop better shit
I was having fun with commando then they took away my burst fire phase shots that i used for 3 games
U can use all ur abilities while using the movement skill on chef which makes him a little better but he still is the worst survivor in the game rn imo
what mods do u play with?
gonna mention that false sons secondary bash attack may or may not have 3.0 proc co?
As it should, cracker, as it should...
Commando is great
6:24 I kept bugging out whenever I used the m1+m2 slam ability whenever I jump before using it, it just bugs out and makes you hover animation locked until you jump agaun
That's actually the best way to play him early game because it ramps up in damage and aoe as you hold it. Basically can hit the whole map as you hover between opening chests.
Seeker neat but still find her to be pretty weak. 2nd weakest survivor imo at keast in the context of eclipse but way better than chef still
Now do a list with all the survivors
Chef is a ton better once you start playing him like merc
use shift (roller) get in an enemies face and shred them with cleaver *your not locked out of any abilities while roller is active*
also fun fact any damage delt while using roller will apply roller *spice* debuff (Barbwire, using cleaver, et cetera)
did not realize that last part. +1 chef mains
Yeah chef feels underbaked and needs some time in the oven
Puts Commando in F tier but then says that modding Chef's primary to play the same as Commando's makes Chef S tier.
#Nooticing 🤔
Somebody had to pay rent
Chef not bad but it's really item dependant (trust me, a single fucking death mark and EVERYTHING on screen dies
where the zen skin for seeker
my game is still broken i can't start a game its so frustrating 2 weeks without risk of rain 2 is too much for me
I don't think you took into account how the chef can use his charge ability before using his secondary whilst keep the speed.
Idk, he still feels a bit weird.
i findi t funny how one mod makes chef literally b or a tier... and all it does is make it so the clever comes back automatically...
Commando hate in 2024 is crazy
Hey I’m having an issue with some modded characters not showing up like the samus darth Vader deku and shigaraki mods in particular and I don’t know why they aren’t there does anybody know?
