Very nice! In Tuscany they're called gnudi. I like your idea of using the ice cream scoop, very clever! Try adding some fresh sage to the butter, it works well with this dish. Ciao!
God, what a wonderful lady you are! I enjoy watching you, and I could listen to you for hours! And the recipes are excellent, I have tried most of them! Greetings from Serbia.

"Mange tak" they say here in Denmark, where I am living since 2021 coming from Germany. When I was looking for the receipe "Lasagne Bolognese" I found you and suscribed your channel at once. Thank you for the nice and personally presentation - incl. your husband - of all your good tasty receipes!
These are wonderful! I would love your cookbook to be reissued. Some of your recipes are ones I did not ask my excellent mother to give me but I remembered them so fondly. With your help I am able to reproduce those memories. Thank you so much.
Wow- this is different and interesting to try! I’m running out of ideas for our Saturday fun day finger food meal options so this fits right in. Definitely going to try this one.
I enjoy watching you cook, I got my granddaughter enjoy watching you, she is only 5 years old and she always says nonna let's watch that beautiful lady cooking that giovanna lady I love watching her she says
He llo my dear Giovanna , i love this recipe 😋 Ricota spinach are an excelent combination 😋 for sure i will try to make it .I love Italian food . Definitely , i love your apron is gorgeous. Thank you so much for your amaizing recipe. Hugs from Utah .💕🌟⚘️🦋
Dear Dolores, This recipe is really delicious and addictive! Try it and you’ll love it! The apron was a gift from my cousins.❤️👍🏽❤️ I send you Greetings from New Jersey all the way to Utah!
What a delightful explanation of a recipe. Una pioggia di parmigiano’ - I had never heard of that expression. How sweet. Thank you for this. I will subscribe!
Love this Giovanna, che delizioso! Every dish is perfection, done with such love and care ❤ my family is from Napoli and I’ve never heard of Malfatti, it looks divine! I can’t wait to share this with them 😋 Grazie mille Giovanna! ❤
Wouldn't accept my like! 🤷 Will make these! First time I've ever heard of them! Malfatti... I think they look so good! Easy enough to make my goodness me! Very easy!
My grandma passed down this exact recipe we would make every winter but after boiling she put them in a baking dish with butter and parmesan and baked them in the oven. Not sure where she got the recipe since she wasn't Italian but I can confirm they're delicious!
Definitely interested in a new edition of the book. I personally use a wok and a bamboo steamer, because why have two steamers from two different traditions when one can steam effectively with just one?
These look delicious and healthy! 😍 Sometimes I see "salata" (sheep's milk ricotta) in the store, which seems very dry already. Do you know if salata would also work in this recipe? Grazie mille per tutto il suo bellissimo lavoro e per la condivisione, è un piacere guardare i suoi video.
Grazie tanto Heather, è un piacere ricreare le ricette che le nostre amate mamme e nonne non ci hanno lasciate scritte! Ricotta salata is a grating cheese, so it couldn’t be used to make malfatti. The ricotta, cow’s milk or sheep’s milk, has to be fresh. 🌹
Definitely gonna try these! Gonna tell the hubby the spinach is basil so he won’t turn his nose up at it. Lol!!! One question. Can you freeze them and thaw out later? Grazie Mille!
Just bumped into your channel, and I'm so glad! Absolutely looking forward trying this. I do have a question for anyone, and please pardon my Ignorance: is there a difference between Malfatti and Gnudi? Is it a regional difference? Thanks in advance for any info!
Trying these tomorrow! Can you use a tomato sauce for the base instead of butter? Also, are you using the ricotta in the "tin" that drains? They look delicious!
Malfatti are very delicate, and the tomato sauce, delicious as it is, would overpower them. But, if you want to try them with tomato sauce go right ahead!
Yes, our dear friend is "THE Mark Musa" Mark and my husband, Howard, met in first grade and were lifelong intimate friends. He had a remarkable sense of humor: he was as funny as he was brilliant! ❤
Absolutely LoVed seeing the inch long nails going into the food, the dirt combining with the ingredients. Yum. Please roll them over the floor next time ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing this recipe ❤ You should consider designing your own Italian apron and sell in your merchandise.
Thank you for your suggestion, and best regards!
Thank you for sharing your recipe and love.💕
Many memories. Both the malfatti and your Lenox china pattern; my mother had the same. Fine food on fine china. Che gioia! Tanti

Thank you for your lovely story!
We always have them boiled with butter and warmed in the oven the next day if there happen to be any leftovers!

Carla Lalli Music literally just made a tortelli dish video and had so much leftover filling she didn’t know how to use. She needs to see this!

I really hope you will reprint the Emilia Romagna cookbook!!!
Thank you, the book is in the process of being produced as a second edition.
This looks so good! Can I make these without the flour?
Can you give me an idea of what size scoop you use. Is it about 2 or 3 tablespoons. These look delicious.
These look delicious and healthy! 😍 Sometimes I see "salata" (sheep's milk ricotta) in the store, which seems very dry already. Do you know if salata would also work in this recipe?

You can serve them as well with plain pasta sauce on top instead of butter 😋👍

Are these could be called ( Gnudi ) my Mother used to make Gnudi and these LOOK ALIKE????
If they are she boiled them in chicken broth.
Yes, these are the same as Gnudi. If you serve them in broth they are a delicious soup; they are great either way!
Be sure to remember adding nutmeg. It wasn’t on recipe
Are these could be called ( Gnudi ) my Mother used to make Gnudi and these LOOK ALIKE????
In Tuscany they are called Gnudi., and in Emilia-Romagna they are known as Malfatti!
Sorry for spelling your name wrong Giovanna!!
Thank you for watching! 🌹
