If you are looking for a head-to-head game with clever card play and spatial maneuvering, then I'd recommend Battlecon. It's fast, thinky, heavier without being convoluted, and it feels like a complete experience out of the box. The nuances within each character and how they interact with each match up is incredible. It's also impressive just how distinct each fighter is from one another. I think it would be right up your alley.

That sounds awesome, thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look into it!

I see some of your criticisms as very valid (need for expansions and card themeing), but when you said some games devolve into two melee characters changing blows "trading numbers" it actually physically hurt, it shows such a grotesque lack of understanding. It is the most played game in my group. We only play 2v2, which is deeper than 1v1 IMO. I played about 60~80 2v2 games, and I am still learning. By your comments I would wager that if you played with us your duo would lose 95% of the games.
Despite this negative comment, I'll say I am glad you are very critical of the games you review and I'll encourage you to keep up.
