2:44 before 1.18, badland biomes were covered with a thin strip of desert biome around the edges which means that you can also have a village or temple spawn there if you're lucky

I think a fight where the ground was more uneven would be cooler, rather than as absent as this

Those lava spawns could get you world record for fastest death. Like Hanabi’s record by spawning in an iceberg, the timer doesn’t start until you put an input in the game. You don’t have to move, and the lava will kill you.

I always found it a bit ironic that even though "do not dig straight down" is a classic and iconic rule of minecraft, it is actually pretty effective method if you just want to get better ore or cave fast (especially ones generated on lower y axis), granted your luck with the world generation isn't terrible. You can easily avoid accidentally falling to your death by digging straight down while standing in between 2 blocks.

This reminds me of the seed I tested that was just my Minecraft username that spawned me almost right beside a ravine that went down to negative Y that had exposed diamonds lol
I think the weirdest thing i've ever experienced was having spawn be right above the stronghold, and the stronghold also being connected to a cave entrance simply 20ish blocks away (which was how I found it in the first place) This was on the ps3 btw, and the map there is finite, so the stronghold can only spawn in so many places. Still, simply going into a cave and then coming upon the thing is definitely on top of my list of 'strange old mc happenings' considering its technically not supposed to happen
I used to play like 15 years ago and loosely follow some casual players Speedrunners are a whole other thing though I can roughly deduce what's going on It's insane to me how the same game can be played in so many different ways that it feels foreign if you aren't familiar with it

Looking at this reminds me of one world I got generated when I played on Switch. It was a village where I made my house, and when I looked undersea, there was the end structure beneath it (I never found the portal tho)
