399 would make sense, for 499 you can get a lot more phone then this.
*than
450 is a good price tbh
@@ronch182xD Finally I'm not the only one
450 is a good price I think I don't even buy phones unless they're on sale lol
@@user-sw6qj2vq7jpixel is always on sale lol
give it 2 months, 8a will be on sale itself, maybe at 399 too
It's $299 if you're a Google Fi customer right now.
One major question that did not get much attention was the thermal performance of Pixel 8a compared to 7a. This is such an important hidden aspect for longevity of the device for users. Hope you folks can perform some detailed testing and provide an update review. Thank you for your quick initial review.
True, I haven't heard much on that
I heard the 7a got quite hot, right? It's one of the reasons I didn't jump at getting it.
@@glenn.c it's not an error. It's a handwarmer 😂
@@user-sw6qj2vq7j I stay in Southeast Asia where temperatures are currently exceeding 40C, I'd love to NOT have a handwarmer hahaha
The Google store is offering an extra £150 off the Pixel 8a in the UK if you trade in your old phone. This means I can get the Pixel 8a for an estimated £264 if I trade in my old Pixel 5. I'm seriously considering this offer 🤔
Mines coming tomorrow did it from the pixel 4a 5g, the trade in price for older units is crazy with that extra £150
Are you sure? I just checked the price of pixel 8 and it's 699!
It was on sale a while ago.
ITs rarely 699. It has a lot of price drops
I just pre ordered it Today 😮❤
I got mine at a discount for 299 USD. Had the phone for a few days and upgraded from the Pixel 6. I'm in love with the pixel brand again after so many headaches with the 6. The 8a is fantastic!
Amazon is selling the Pixel 8 for $450. Unfortunately this is for a renewed phone. Google has a tendency to play around with their phone prices so hang on and wait for a price drop.
Should note to get the 449 pricing you are purchasing a “renewed” unit. Idk how good Amazon’s refurbs are.
Thanks, I failed to look fully at the Google search reply. Lazy on my part. Nobody is currently selling this phone near that price.
How is the loud speaker quality? Is 8a's worse than 8's?
Pixel AA guy is back again 😂😂😂
Hello there I'm back
@@1PaulJ Hi mAAte !! 👋😂
Better buy a Pixel 8 when the Pixel 9 gets announced in October. I think it gets a price drop then
If you willing sign up for two years basically pixel 7 or 8 just a on the house tell better deal?
8 by far
Did anyone notice the camera visor on 8a was a bit slant, when put side by side to 8. 1:18 Don't mind my ocd 👀
Pixel 7 is 250$ and has same and or additional features. Why do cheap versions at all?
Pixel 7 has Tensor G3 and 120 Hz screen?
Isn't fast wireless charging not good for the battery.
It has no impact
Paid 218$ with my current continued subscription. Albeit an expensive one with streaming included.
I’m ok with the £499 price given they are knocking off £189 on trade-in for a Sony Xperia L3 (which I got on eBay for £40)
I have seen MID before. But this is discovery....
You ignored what many commented in the last video about pricing.
You're comparing MSRP of the 8a against the discounted price of the 8. Pixel 8a will cost 399 shortly.
You could've mentioned that they are doing some launch deals in some countries with trade-in offers for example. In Europe they are giving you 150€ extra for trading in your current phone, meaning, it already cost 399€ vs discounted price Pixel 8 at 650€ and discounted price pixel 8 Pro at 799-899€.
Compare MSRP:
- Pixel 8a: 549€
- Pixel 8: 799€
- Pixel 8 Pro: 1099€
Compared discounted price:
- Pixel 8a: 399€
- Pixel 8: 650€
- Pixel 8 Pro: 799€
Also, nobody should upgrade from a 7a. You are out of touch if you think somebody buying an A series should upgrade after a year when it still has 4 more years of updates (2+2).
Why google dont sell their smartphones officially worldwide and also add 5G bands for worldwide too
499?? Go for one plus 12R or Nothing Phone 2A
If the 256gb was priced at 500 than ig it would be hit
Should not have bothered ,when they launch the Pixel 9 they could easily just leave the 8 on sale at a reduced price perhaps even $499 left the 7a on sale at $329 although with limited OS updates left it would be a hard sale ,the 8a just seems a pointless exercise when it’s so close in specs and price of the regular 8 ,plenty of Samsung mid rangers available for a lot lower price like the A35
I'm sorry but Samsung mid-range A series won't be alive in 2-3 years you better get a pixel
@@katinasoutherland7693why? What evidence do you have to support such a wild statement?
A35 is terrible
@@Oldasianguy
google always promises 7 years of updates on their phones
@@Goodmanperson55 I don't keep cars for 7 years, let alone a phone. 7 year old batteries never perform well. It's a selling point. Nobody is using a pixel 3 or older. Didn't even have 5g until the pixel 6. When the pixel 15 is out, nobody will be using an 8.
I got the pixel 8a for 358 us dollar
Cap
@@Oldasianguy it's not cap, with my pixel 6a trade in I got 180 for the credit. 499 minus 180 is 319 plus taxes and shipping my total came out to 358. I made 538 up front. But once you factor in the trade-in, it's 358.
@@Joseph-ub5wh but you paid more for the 6a than 180. You still paid the difference.
When I got the 6a I got that for 350 as well. Both phones cost me 350. I may pay the difference up front but I'll get it back. Yes I paid 700 for two phones that I could have spent on a base 7 or even 8. But I feel like it's worth it.
@@Joseph-ub5wh Either way, its a good deal. Personally I'd go for the 8 because of faster charging, bigger battery, less bezels, form factor, brighter screen and stronger gorilla glass on front. I only like the 8a for the smaller camera hump. Price is obviously a factor, but I'm sure the 8 will drop in price shortly, and even then, trade in should be higher.
I don't know why Google is keeping those big bezels for
To push people to the pixel 8
Google immediately raised the price of the Pixel 8 back to its full price as soon as the 8A dropped. People keep saying its only $50 more but that isn't true. The Pixel 8 is currently $699. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro WILL go back on sale soon enough, but the 8A will as well. Google will maintain a price gap between the two phones. Its not as simple as just spending $50 more the 8...
2:43 Most indeed.
Manchester has never seen so much sun 🌞
Very nice phone for daily usage
no reason 4 now to buy in Eu. 550 for 8a, 600 for 8
In India, it launched for 52,999 INR. That's about 635 USD. That's just, to be very polite, outrageously obnoxious.
They definetly increased the size of their phone.
Does it have a Qualcomm or Broadcom wifi chipset?
Neither. It's Samsung
I'm seriously considering this phone than buying a 2nd hand iPhone 14 Pro.
The Pixel 8 is no longer on sale, so it is $150 more than the 8a. Keep up dude.
"We've seen the regular Pixel 8 on sale for just $50 more." He used past tense.
When you can get a lot more at 499 this day and age
I my country, the Pixel 8 is at least 250$ more than 8a...
So google finally give descent battery life but then makes it charge at turtle speed? Damnit google.
Duh it is 399 with the $100 gift card!
8 costs the same as 8a at the moment. Weird.
Weird? Why? They need to blowout the excess pixel 8s before the 9 release. Pretty simple business decision
The price ... 🤨🧐🤦🏾♂️
The OnePlus 12r is cheaper and offers a lot more than this pixel 8a. Bigger screen and bigger battery plus faster charging
I would switch in a second if it had fast charging
I hate those big tiles top on stock.. Samsungs look better .
Nice blue. Too bad for the low charging speeds. The responsible manager at Google should say 20 times 8A as fast as possible as punishment. That will teach him/her/they. 😂
Bezal!? Enough with the bezal sizes....even the Mona Lisa has a huge frame around her....nobody EVER complains about that? A bezal is only a glass frame....
$499 is budget phone?! May be $299 is
Why does everyone obsess over the RRP? Yes in the uk the RRP is £499... but I just got it off of Voxi sim free brand new WITH a free chromebook for £350? stop crying! Once I sell the chromebook the phone will cost me about £290 overall..
Tbh I love the pixel 8 series. BUT the very slow charging stops me from buying one
How about the history of all of Google's A phones. They overheat and have to be replaced continually. I had 4 RMAs on mine last go round. Each time the screen went black and nothing could be done. Once while holding it in my hand and using Google Maps to look for a restaurant on vacation. Google needs to ditch the A line completely. Meanwhile OnePlus is eating their lunch.
I've had the Pixel 3a since launch, and no problems.
I've had the 4a and 6a, and yes the 6a overheats if you shoot 4K video. But never had to RMA.
Just got it for 280€ 😎
Pixels need a gallery I hate google photos, why I get Samsung
It's come with dumb charge like all googy phones😅
Maybe skip pixel 8a this time I'm gonna get A55 this year.
I would think twice, if I were you.
Well I haven't looked think answer on pixel a Google Fi loves giving away phones.
So its pixel A A then 😐
I’m just British 😢
Excellent job man 🫡
here you can get 8A for 580$ and 8 for 670$.. no reason to buy 8A tbh
Pixel 'a' a???🤔🤨
That phone just looks ugly and obnoxious from the front, like wtf were google thinking. And i thought the s23 fe bezels were bad lol
Why you guys don't talk heating issue, network issue, poor week processor about google phone...
Shame on you guys...
Never had any of those issues except heating issues on my Pixel phones
