@GHOSTSTARSCREAM The average age to have your first kid in Canada is around 30 years old, having three kids before reaching your 40s is rare.
The birth rate in Canada is also closer to Japan than the US or Mexico, so a millennial having more than one kid in the first place is somewhat rare.

@GHOSTSTARSCREAM I live in Canada, it's pretty obvious from visual observation and Stats Canada data that millennial's aren't having kids at the same rate or the same age that their parents did.
It doesn't matter if its related to cost of living or culture, the demographic impact is the same.

My Pixel 2 was getting troublesome, battery full of sadness causing soft resets when demand spiked. Upgraded to 7a on the blowout special last month after some bad experience with dodgy aftermarket batteries and the P2 display often not surviving the removal process making a "fresh" battery a poor option.
The 7a is much faster and the battery is great, but I miss the big bezels, small size, light weight, fast laser autofocus, front speakers, and *especially* that impeccable rear fingerprint sensor. Fortunately you can add more bezel with software, but I can't shake the feeling that I'd have been happier with a lightly used Pixel 5. I still miss the plastic-shelled 110g 4" phones.

MKBHD gets sucked off by apple and google. I doubt he did it actually blind or any of his co workers did, when u take a look a youtubers who ACTUALLY work in the photo and video industry, its not the same. Most videos that I have seen have the 7a and 8a in the best or top 3 in the mid range category. While it never really enters top 5 (nor do most of the pixels, 8pro hit top3 on some). The thing with pixels is the sensors are not as good as most other flagships, but rather rely too much on post processing. In laymen's terms this means that phots taken will look more "fake" in terms of professional photography. The cameras and photos look great for an everyday user, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty and actually looking at which cameras and which phones take the best photos, its generally not google at the top 1 or 2 spots anymore as people like samsung, apple, and xiomi have caught up with their post processing

The difference in Tensor G3 is actually because they're made differently. Pixel 8 uses FoPLP whereas 8a's G3 is packaged using iPoP, which decreases cost but in return - decreases efficiency. Google compensated for this in software and thus you see the differences in performance and thermals.

That thing morphed out of shape quick, was too sticky and thus was hard to put in or take out of my pocket and accumulated a lot of dirt. Bareback glass is just too slippery for me. I bought a real leather case and the texture is just perfect. Not slippery but also not sticky. Always feels great. (It's real leather glued on hard plastic so the shape doesn't change). I did the tab for a 7 Pro, after being on an S20 FE 5G, and there's lots to love about going back to stock Android, though the slight dip in battery life is noticeable compared to my Samsung. Koodo was running a black friday promo for all of November of 2023, right as the 8 and 8 Pro were coming out, and discounting the 7 Pro considerably for the tab. I went for the 7 Pro with the $20 tab, and the 60 GB data usage cap for a discounted price of $55 and month (as existing customers get a 5 dollar discount on the advertised plan price). Previously, I had done the same with the S20 FE 5G, as the 2021 market had depleted quite a few of the flagships for stock at retailers near me.

Is pixel A series as good as nexus? I remember pixel 7a and 6a being priced very comparably to the nexus 5X (when you account for inflation)

Well the main thing is that they release the phone with the final goal of it being the budget offering for the next series.
So the 6a came out, ready as an end goal for when the 7 series released, at which point the line-up was 6a/7/7 Pro. Then the 7a came out and replaced it, with the end goal to be the budget option when the 8 series came out, with the line-up being 7a/8/8 Pro.
They release it early just to get it out and start selling so there is a new budget phone out and keep relevant (people don't like to see phone models stay too long), but the purpose of the a series phones is not to compete with it's equivalent series line-up it's always ready for the next series. The final line-up later in the year will be 8a/9/9 Pro unless they change something big.

I've got an 8a on the way, upgrading from my 4a that I've had for years.
Google is currently offering the 8a for free if you sign up for Google Fi and stayed signed up for 2 years.
So paid $500 for the phone and that $500 will come back via 24 monthly discounts on the phone bill totalling the phone cost.

Is the 8 Pro significantly better compared to the 8 or 8a? I can get a refurbished one full warranty here for same price as a new 8.

I want one for the photo editor wich they seem to advertise much but it only shows that you can move or remove objects and people. Would love to see what else it can do.

Got mine yesterday for only €319 (256gb version). For that price it's an absolute steal deal. Coming from a Xiaomi 10t pro and I must say the 8A is an upgrade!
Sure the battery don't charge as fast as the Xiaomi, but I charged it from 0 to 100 in 90 minutes, and that's okay for me.

Okay... good job d-brand. I started skipping the commercial, but saw the stupid AI pin and thought "wait, where are they going with this?" and actually scrolled back. Worth it.

How is the heat issue? the 7a has a huge overheating issue when doing normal tasks in 70F weather, which is a major issue. How does the 8a act in moderate weather? That should be part of labs, check to see when and how a device overheats.

these things always seem to be random, some models are affected and some not. i have a 7a, and our home has been 70F and above lately, and i haven't had an issue. i do not play games, watch videos or do video editing types of tasks. what "normal tasks" are causing it to overheat? are you on wifi or mobile connection?

Just picked one of these up as i needed a new phone pretty quickly. I saw yalls review and decided to look into it. You just cant beat it for the price. Sure the others are better, but specifically for the price it is fantastic. My old phone was messing up and i rely on my phone for many things. Im liking it so far. Very snappy. I feel this is great example of a budget version of a flagship phone. Not filled with junky parts or the last model cpu. It does go to show that you dont have to break the bank or spend 1-2k on a phone. The 7 year support was also a major selling point on it for me
