One of my all time favorite singers wrote a song inspired by the story of Hachi. She wrote it before this movie was made, but I think the movie was already being made by the time she released the song. She's from the US but as a teen got signed on to a S.Korean company. So in her travels as a kpop singer they visited Japan & she heard the story, & having dogs of her own that she loved she got inspired to write a heartfelt song about the true & loyal love dogs have. It's in Korean & English mixed. It's called Love Run by Amber Liu. No official video, only a couple of fan made vids, but very pretty.
0:51 Amber, you absolutely MUST arrange a screening of OLD YELLER (1957) for Jay & yourself sometime soon. I completely adored that film when I was a boy, and Jay will really love it. It’s one of the best Walt Disney live action movies made when Walt was still alive! Your kids will love it too!
Wife and I had never heard of this movie, so we watched your reaction. Interesting movie based on a real story. Akita's are a great dog breed. I worked for a veterinarian in high school. Started when I was 15 back in 1972 and he always told his clients, when you select a new pet, be it dog, cat, or horse, let the animal choose you. This dog lived by his choice. Sadly moving.
I have a 3 year old American bulldog, her name is Diamond, after watching this I held her for awhile, what a great story of loyalty and pure love, love you guys and all the movies and music
Another true story of a faithful dog is Greyfriars Bobby, I think you would like this one too. “Walt Disney presents the remarkable true story of one of Scotland's most beloved and celebrated heroes - a terrier named Bobby! The enduring friendship forged between a tenderhearted shepherd known simply as Old Jock and his devoted dog cannot be broken - even by the kindly old man's death”.
My favorite Disney movie. I’ve visited Greyfiars Pub and Bobby’s memorial in Edinburgh. That movie meant so much to me that I started my career working with dogs 😊
I would highly recommend “Homeward Bound The Incredible Journey” a Dog and Cat movie that will make you cry happy tears. It is centered around two dogs and cat who are voiced by well known actors. It is a good family movie that touch’s on similar love and devotion as that seen in Hatchi a Dogs Tale.
Watching this movie caught me off guard was very beautiful and incredibly emotional someone had onions right under my nose while I was watching LOL and being a dog owner and lover brought back a lot of sensitive and great memories of dogs I had in the past thank you very much for sharing. And happy holidays to you and your family.
Me, had 2 cats adopted a 3rd. Noah & NeeHi siblings, last year 2022 I woke up to 16yr old Noah not being able to walk took him to the Vet, needless to say I returned home without him. The 1st day Neehi didn't trip but the 2nd day she started going from room to room looking for him and started to 'cry'. She cried EVERY DAY for a year. Didn't matter how much time I spent with her, she'd cried, she stopped using her litter box, did all kinds of things, bought a new box maybe she couldn't climb into her old one, laid doggie pee pee pads down in front of the litter box, then she stopped eating would just lay on her bed, still would cry from time to time. Took her to the Vet, the attendant looked into the carrier, immediately took her to an exam room. Came back to the waiting room and said NeeHi had passed. Guys, sometime between home (still alive) and the doctor she joined her brother this year 2023, almost a year to the day. Noah had passed in January NeeHi a year later in February, she was 17. And yes I had them since they were 3 months old. I miss my little fuzzballs. Seeing this movie with you guys today brought the tears. NeeHi, missing her brother, I really believe, died of a broken heart.💔😥
There's so many amazing animal bonding films that this one touches your heart strings so much. I can't ever watch it without bringing a tear to my eye. I highly recommend a dog's life Turner and hooch how to drive in the rain and of course you should watch old yeller

This movie absolutely broke me. Not normally one to cry at movies, but jesus...this one messed me up, I was welling up at you guys reaction and thinking of our old girl Polly who passed away just last year 😭
I had a female Akita years and it was the smartest, loyal and all around best dog I've had. Unfortunately she got Lupus and I eventually had to let her pass rather than suffer anymore, I had her ashes put in a Japanese urn.
Old Yeller is a very emotional story, both the book and movie r classic greats. I had an Akita named Buddy for 9 yrs. Love how their tails curl. Such smart, beautiful, loving animals. Sadly chasing a cat in the back woods he broke his back. He lived a few yrs in diapers and dog wheelchair but couldnt hold out, hard keeping him comfortable and out of pain in the end. Big part of our family lost. We r big dog people too, like u not to fond of cats either. But all animals r precious to existence, I think. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
The dog is an Akita Inu (As opposed to an American Akita) from the Odate region of Japan.Hachiko was an actual dog and the movie is based on a true story that happened in Tokyo. This movie got me very interested in Akitas and I ended up getting my first (American) Akita in 2012.
I cry every time I see this movie. Your reactions were priceless. You felt the connection. Old Yeller was one of my favorite childhood books and movie. I cried over Old Yeller too. The Yearling is another one of these movies ( about a deer) the evokes the same emotions. Richard Gere is an excellent actor. Now that you have seen him in two movies, i'd like to suggest you watch him in..... "An Officer and a Gemtleman", "Nights in Rodanthe", and the musical. "Chicago" Richard Gere was the original Danny Zucco in the Broadway production of "Grease"
I clicked on this reaction so quickly! This movie is so incredibly beautiful yet so bittersweet and even though I've seen it a ton of times it still turns me into a blubbering mess! 😭 I'm just such an animal lover and this movie is just so special and I love it! ❤️
This movie is disgusting. Nobody tried to work with this dog so it would stay in at home. So it's left out in the cold with scraps to feed itself while it froze. I find it really disturbing that people think this movie is beautiful. Why, because the dog was loyal to his owner? How about if somebody showed some loyalty to the poor helpless dog.
"The Yearling" (1946, in color) from the best selling and Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Marjorie Rawlings, starring Gregory Peck, has a boy in 1870's rural Florida adopting an orphaned fawn. Nominated for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture, the storyline includes struggles with the local wildlife (bear and poisonous snake) and some diverse neighbors. Drama and humor and heartwarming.
I can NEVER watch this again...EVER!!!...It simply hurts too much...I realize that in this movie its a much different thing, but im tired of living in a world where children and/or animals are neglected & abused... I have no idea why the Good Lord gave me a heart that loves animals so much...Movies like this hurt me to the point of being sad & depressed for days...I cant imagine the hurt & confusion this dog had...Yet for over 10 years he would go back to the place where he last saw his owner/best friend...A love that is so unconditional that we humans cant understand...I hope i make it into heaven, where i can be reunited with the pets that i lost over the years...I long for that day...I always picture it in my head...I really miss them so much
The one I love about dogs Is there pure and loyal but there not driven by greed or hate like humans. They don't act human they are loyal and good companions. And will be there for you. As long as you treat them good, they will be good back to you. I love how smart they are too how to train to for recuse and helping out others.
I once got sprayed by a skunk because it we scared one as we were driving by it. You never want to get sprayed; it smells awful. We had a Australian Shepherd and she was the smartest dog we ever had. According to my mom, she wasn't a dog, she was a person.

The loyalty of Akitas is real. My son got his first Akita 12 years ago and now has a 2nd. I have a Shiba Inu (which is the breed the puppy in the movie is) and an Akita. These dogs are amazing and SO smart. And no, they don’t play fetch. It is as if they are insulted by the notion. They are AMAZING dogs. I absolutely loved watching this with you. ❤❤❤❤

I saw the title of this reaction and jumped on it. I watched this film when I was home from work sick, I was telling my daughter the story a week later and couldn’t stop crying again. Believe me, you are not the only ones that have sobbed at this film!
I love that movie. But every time I watch it I know I'll end up in tears. I love dogs. Had a few and lost a few. Our current Bulldog is five. I love hear every minute every day. But I dread the day we have to say goodbye. Breaks my heart every time and the pain is beyond belief. But I just can't imagine not having a dog. They give us so much. Of course when we were travelling in Japan a few years ago we had to check out the Hachiko Statue in Shibuya City, Tokyo to pay our respects.
I knew you 2 would be in treas 😢watching this as you have had animals. I watched this and was in tears!!! I knew i would be intears again with you, great reaction team ❤

Think you should see a young Richard Gere in An Officer and Gentleman. By the way, I grew up with a beagle - 77-19 - named him Silk for his silky ears. He was the most loving, loyal and protective dog, kinda like Old Yeller
"Kavik the Wolf Dog" is an excellent book that I read as a kid in the early 90s. I re-read it in my 30s and was surprised it's actually an excellent read for adults too. The husky in the story travels hundreds of miles to be reunited with a boy that cared for him. Spoiler alert: he barely survives, multiple times.

Crazy that Richard Gere and Jason Alexander were both in Pretty Woman together all those years ago and get to be co-stars again.
This movie, Ol' Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows get me right in the feels every time.
The greatest dog actor of all time is Jed, half wolf half half husky. You already saw him in his first movie "The Thing" where he played the alien dog. If you want to see Jed play a hero watch "The Journey of Natty Gann"(1985) such a beautiful movie. Or "White Fang"(1991) based on the classic novel.
This film made me cry like a baby…it’s just such a beautiful yet tragic little film and the fact that it’s a true story is even more emotional
I have a 3 year old American bulldog, her name is Diamond, after watching this I held her for awhile, what a great story of loyalty and pure love, love you guys and all the movies and music
great story I regret not seeing the statue when I was in Tokyo this past September
How many times i’m gonna shed my tears 😭 every time i watch this movie i cry just like the first time 😭😭😭😭 dogs are really the blessing in our lives 💔
Yes!!!
I have seen this and the original a few times over the years, but oh boy I forgot just what a tear-jerker this one is!!!!
Great reaction guys! oOo
This movie made me cry and I cried again while watching it with you. Another great dog movie you would like is Togo.
Watching this movie caught me off guard was very beautiful and incredibly emotional someone had onions right under my nose while I was watching LOL and being a dog owner and lover brought back a lot of sensitive and great memories of dogs I had in the past thank you very much for sharing. And happy holidays to you and your family.
whew this is one you have to have tissues ready for.
This is one of those movies you love, but can't stand to watch again because it's so heartbreaking. I just ugly-cried through your reaction of it.
If people were half as loyal as dogs, the world would be a much better place.
I’ve seen this movie six or seven times and I still cried my eyes out watching your reaction
This movie is guaranteed to bring at least 1 tear to anyone’s eyes. Great movie!!!
This is a movie you can only watch once. Now I start tearing up when the opening credits start.
There's so many amazing animal bonding films that this one touches your heart strings so much. I can't ever watch it without bringing a tear to my eye. I highly recommend a dog's life Turner and hooch how to drive in the rain and of course you should watch old yeller
Grew up watching this movie and love it
One of my all time faves. I cry every time I watch it
The head of the bronze statue has been worn down after years and years of people petting it.
@6:41 "Oh, that makes me so sad." Oh my poor dear, you have no idea what's coming. I just want to give you a hug. This movie WRECKS me every single time.
Why do I put myself through it 😫 everytime I watch, it breaks my heart. Such a pure and beautiful story 😢
This movie absolutely broke me. Not normally one to cry at movies, but jesus...this one messed me up,
I was welling up at you guys reaction and thinking of our old girl Polly who passed away just last year 😭
Marley and me! Another true dog story!
I had a female Akita years and it was the smartest, loyal and all around best dog I've had. Unfortunately she got Lupus and I eventually had to let her pass rather than suffer anymore, I had her ashes put in a Japanese urn.
such a beautiful bittersweet movie! Great cast! ♥
When I was a little girl, Old Yeller was the first movie I went to see by myself. Love the movie. You won't be disappointed. Must see.
Now that you have seen him in two movies, i'd like to suggest you watch him
in..... "An Officer and a Gemtleman", "Nights in Rodanthe", and the musical. "Chicago"
Richard Gere was the original Danny Zucco in the Broadway production of "Grease"
What a beautiful story. I've never seen this movie before, so thank you so much for bringing it to our attention! ❤️😭❤️😭❤️😭❤️😭
@@clarkmacgowan5114 Oh my, are you a treat! 😂😂😂
I've seen this movie so many times ! I LOVE it and it always makes me cry everytime !
The most meaningful thing an a beautiful thing about waiting for his owner 😢😅❤
This is one of the very few movies that can bring tears to my eyes
My kid and I watched this movie together and sobbed so hard. It’s the most I’ve ever cried over a movie.
I once got sprayed by a skunk because it we scared one as we were driving by it. You never want to get sprayed; it smells awful.
We had a Australian Shepherd and she was the smartest dog we ever had. According to my mom, she wasn't a dog, she was a person.
Oh No!!! 😢😢😢 I'm already crying!! Also, JAY!!!, Old Yeller is a classic!!
Also need to read "Where the Red Fern Grows".
I came here to say this! A classic. I think they made a movie too.
They did make a movie but the book is so much better. Movie not bad just old.
I can't stop crying
Great Reaction to an amazing true story ❤❤.... this movie was filmed mostly in my hometown of Woonsocket, R.I. where we have a statue in honour of Hachi at our train station.. I TRULY CRY LIKE A BABY WATCHING THIS MOVIE 😭😭
If you like dog movies and you like Tom Hanks, Turner & Hooch is a lot of fun.
You would like Greyfriars Bobby, it's a true story, too.😌
This one is SO good. Man…
My best friend, my pit bull Alley, passed away a couple months ago. She was so attached to me and me to her. God, I’m crying already and the movie hasn’t even started. 😢
When hachi at the end, sees him in color, that's them in heaven!
Another amazing movie ,great choice ,yep cried ,being a dog lover ,tears your heart apart had to hug my dog after watching this..
a tear jerker movie. a faithful friend who can find?
i seen a scene from this on tiktok and i watched the movie and my god what a tear jerker, that dog is so loyal and its based on a true story
Thank you so much I've been asking you to play this for a long time. Thank you
I saw the title of this reaction and jumped on it. I watched this film when I was home from work sick, I was telling my daughter the story a week later and couldn’t stop crying again. Believe me, you are not the only ones that have sobbed at this film!
I cry so much when I watch this. Like right now. It cuts like a knife. And the music, ya'll. I LOVE DOGS.
Lassie Come Home is a classic. I also agree with Seabiscuit!
I knew you 2 would be in treas 😢watching this as you have had animals. I watched this and was in tears!!! I knew i would be intears again with you, great reaction team ❤
You get one special dog in a lifetime…mine was a Pitt bull named Sonya who loved me like that…I have loved other dogs since her…but there has never been another like her…🇨🇦🖖🏻
Think you should see a young Richard Gere in An Officer and Gentleman. By the way, I grew up with a beagle - 77-19 - named him Silk for his silky ears. He was the most loving, loyal and protective dog, kinda like Old Yeller
I cried just watching your review! I don't think I could actually watch the full movie! What a beautiful story! ❤
