@@MelissaBackwoods Test out some Microtech blades please, I wanna see if their worth the price that they are, but if one can't be donated then we'll I guess nevermind then, I'll just have to find out later on, alright Miller have a good day.
Finally something affordable. Nice testing basically what you might actually do with it. Every day carry. I do use the pouch to carry. But sometimes take the pocket clip off and pocket carry. But the pouch is there so I remember to put it back. Most of the time.
Just wanted to add that trying to drive the knife through the 2x4 across the grain makes it more difficult, of course . Thank you for the video, Melissa Backwoods❤
Exactly. That’s the first thing I saw. It’s a soft 2x4. If she went with the grain it would have gone through in two hits. But that she went against the grain and the knife survived, is impressive.
My last 5 purchases have come from your recommendations... The swivel Kydex sheath, i didn't even know was a thing until you showed me. I ordered two of the QSP fixed blade Canarys, 1 of the Kansept Niko, and I just ordered 2 of these Schrades, 1 of each color. Just wanted to say that I find your work valuable, and actual purchases are happening as a result of your hard work! That hammer test on the OTF ... I was like yup gotta order one ! that was genius !
Your editing is great! A 10-minute video that keeps my peanut running without getting distracted. Your enthusiasm, knowledge, engagement is captivating.
Wow thank you for that! I was really really proud of this video, it took a long time to make an edit but I am happy with it turned out and I appreciate those words
I definitely do with my otf on occasion lol. They're just so fidgety. Even just pushing the action forward without deploying it makes a satisfying sound like clicking a pen.
As a person with disabilities ive been looking for a good otf due to arthritis problems. I have gotten a civivi mini i believe number 4 on you civivi knofe video. Its a great fidget knife. I have only been able to find otf Benchmade so im glad to see i have another option
HOW am I just now finding this channel?! So...pointy/bladed instruments on display by, & rundown given by smart, funny, really pretty girl. Sign me up-subbed. Seriously, its obvious you've got genuine passion for the topic of blades, & in my book, that's awesome. I defer to your superior knowledge of the topic, & I'm gonna stick around a bit & learn. Thank you.
Knife testing in WI? Hope you had some curds while here (both fresh & deep fried). Wish our paths had crossed, would love to talk blades with you. I've been focused on historical more; loving your modern reviews and that you've listened to fans in showing us some more budget-friendly options.
Wow! I was not expecting that. That was.. fun. I had fun watching your video. That sound’s weird as i write this but it’s true. So I’m still going to. And, thank you! I will be looking forward to watching more of your videos. And probably going to go and find/buy a new shrade otf. Good work.
The fact that you went sideways in the 2x4 with the blade against the grain instead of with it was very brave & most impressive no fear!🎖a most excellent knife indeed & affordable price for a broke young Jedi! well done🙏🤺⚔☮
Oh my , you put that knife through a real torture test , looks to me it held up pretty darn well ! I was a bit concerned when you drove it through a 2X4 , I thought here is where it breaks but it didn’t just right on working ! For the price range that’s impressive durability!
That’s a crazy test but really impressed it survived. On the sharpness, I guarantee you could improve the factory edge on a Worksharp (that’s easy!) I have some of the newer Schrade blades, they are a good value. Thanks for the test
Maybe could be a video. Top 5 non threatening camping knives under 100. PS Love you're Channel, I feel bad for anyone you may be involved with that misses an anniversary or birthday.
Especially when there are microtech clones out there for under $80 that perform exactly the same as the $500 counterpart... And @eatmoreporkyporky, Yes! Cobratec blades are fantastic!
@@Pibblesncatsnreptilesngats72 ya, sometimes that is the case. I own two Chinese Microtech clones and they are nowhere near the build quality of the real ones. Sometimes the Chinese get it right though an you get a really nice clone. Both of my have the weaker Chinesium springs.
Schrade has always been pretty badass I thought, but can a Microtech knife take that kind of abuse.! Cause dam that's a hellava test, anyway just wondering.?? Perhaps test one out for me.. 😊🙏🎩🗡
Thank you, I’ve never had an OTF knife go on my pocket. You have to put a lot of pressure on the switch. Even if they do go off in the pocket they are made to go off track if there is anything resisting so they would not stick through your leg or anything
I am from MN and we can not carry OTF knives but can own them... Don't make sense! I have a few Viper-Tec knives and I like them a lot. Have you tried them Melissa?
I was wondering why it took so many strikes to put the blade through the 2x4. Then I saw that the blade was faced across the grain of the board. I was wondering if you own any blades with handles other than the outdoors and military/combat knives?

I'm actually surprised that the mechanism is still in tact. You really hammered the heck out of it Melissa!
I tried haha. Don’t know how it would hold up if I did it multiple times but I am impressed it survived
Why do I like this knife channel so much ? Also Front Squat and Bulgarian split squats are awesome. 🔥 legs! 🎉

Hey thanks again Melissa for a wonderful video plus don't worry about it not scripted out as it was very enjoyable and real😊
I suppose that's not too shabby. I usually sharpen or reset the edge angle on the majority of my new knives anyway. Thanks for the torture test.

Hello Melissa! I've been watching your videos for awhile now, awesome content!
On a side note what workout program do you do?
Really enjoyed your enthusiasm and genuine pleasure at the knife's success was truly entertaining and convincing. Well done.
pounding the blade cross grain too so... pretty good 👍🏻

The fact is, I watch this channel for its content. Not because she is easy on the eye. Okay, both actually. : )
Great job 👍. Love the autocorrect knife reviews.
I'm impressed! Your comment about not driving while playing with an OTF reminds me of a memorable scene with Ray Stevenson in 'The Book of Eli'
Bruh, she making them shorts look good!!!

Work of Art.
She's pretty tough

Welcome to Wisco!! I'm in East central Wisconsin, love the videos keepm coming
Looks like you’ve recovered from the blade show not seeing any first aid tape 😊
great video, do you have any videos on how you like to sharpen your knives, again great videos keep them coming
Is schrade looking to get past their crappy reputation now? I'm impressed with this.
Always wanted an OTF, but good ones which withstand a lot cost much, so never changed my RAT 1, but now maybe it's time to upgrade
That definitely surprised me! I thought 4 sure it would have broken the mechanism!! Awesome!!!
That's pretty impressive for an OTF. And even more that its Schrade.
Awesome video I really enjoyed watching it 😎👍🏻
Looked like a petrified 2x4. I’m impressed

Melissa, would you please review a SOG pentagon OTF I bought one and love it. The best thing about it is that there is no blade play.

It’s cake to put spec edge on it!
Knife test aside, pretty good with that hammer. From someone who’s been using one longer than you’re on the planet!

PS Love you're Channel, I feel bad for anyone you may be involved with that misses an anniversary or birthday.
I found you a few weeks ago as im getting back into knives. You remind me of me lol
Nice to see a fellow Michigander doing so well. Great video.
Whats good for the Michigoose is good for the Michigander.
You gave it a beating and it's still working. I would buy one.
Too be fair that test was good enough for me. Good blade/knife.
Most of the time you’re paying for name recognition. Rarely are you paying for actual better builds n materials.
Praise the knife nerd goddess .. A wicked sharp woman!. Much love M.B..
great video.
I like your look...you look like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. The orange hammer is a nice touch.
becoming more and more apparent there is no reason to pay $500 for a Microtech.
Hell no, I've got a cobratec that I use all the time and it's never miss-fired and I paid 80 dollars.
Especially when there are microtech clones out there for under $80 that perform exactly the same as the $500 counterpart... And @eatmoreporkyporky, Yes! Cobratec blades are fantastic!

Schrade isn’t Microtech
A high point works too should we buy that instead of Glocks or similar caliber brands?
Here for the knvies, staying for the beauty. 😂
Love the chaos of the video
Wow shrade coming through
Thanks for sharing
Great video production. You should host/narrate a TV show.
Thanks!!! I appreciate that!

Me gustan muchos tus videos abrazo desde argentina
Id love one , but here in Canada i cant even carry a platic fork here unless youre a criminal then you can have s firearm .....unreal
Nice video Melissa. Thanks

I found out myself, yes Microtech can take that kind of abuse! No problem at all.
I thought you liked knives !!!!!
You are the best
What a brave young lady you are! Driving around in the Liberal state of Wisconsin with a carload of knives? Better hope the cops don't find out. Skal
You were even going across the grain of the wood. Tough job for the knife.
spring assist knives are illegal in north carolina and most states
Keep the horn ❤ use it for a handle for a beautiful knife.
Thar is a cool tough knife.
Nice test you did a great job
Forged in Fire with Melissa. But will it KILL? Love the chaos! And a very good summer to you. Peace!!!
Think I just found my introduction to OTF knives 👍
Damn you beat the crap out that knife
"WE GOTTA POUND IT TO GET IT THROUGH THAT!" 🤭
I think I might buy one, having a few Chinese otf's and only one still working . This looks like a winner
When I initially opened it out of the box I was not that impressed because of the factory edge but after running it through these test I was impressed
not bad at all
Great video! I didn't know about this knife!

That being said
She’s the best.
Oh trust me I have made some bad ones but thank you 😆

Early ones don’t count. You have them down now. And besides when you start laughing during a video it just makes it real…
Question for Melissa. Cold Steel Code 4 spear point or pm3?
Nice video and knife, but how do you keep it from opening accidentally in your pocket?
Thank you, I’ve never had an OTF knife go on my pocket. You have to put a lot of pressure on the switch. Even if they do go off in the pocket they are made to go off track if there is anything resisting so they would not stick through your leg or anything

That's a pretty good torture test

woah awesome knife torture test ive ever watched, surprised a switchblade can actually be hammered on through wood and actually survive
yes! like this style of review.
D2 steel done right is good imho . It’s done right by me in NE Ohio weather and am carrying a small fixed D2 atm 👍.

Yea!! I think vipertec makes a great affordable auto. I have one I want to do video on soon
