If there was one piece of music you knew by the end of 358/2 Days, it was this one. Once that shimmery celesta began to play, you knew that one or more of the Seasalt Trio was eating seasalt ice cream atop the clock tower in Twilight Town.
We aimed to capture those suspended moments in time - a break from the stress and strain of the daily grind, where you can just sit back and enjoy the sunset. Got it memorized?

In celebration of KINGDOM HEARTS and the stunning melodies of Yoko Shimomura, Utada Hikaru, Takeharu Ishimoto, and Tsuyoshi Sekito, we present Project Destati’s second volume.
DARKNESS is the highly-anticipated follow-up album to Project Destati’s 2014 Billboard-charting soundtrack album “LIGHT.” The album is a musical amalgamation of fan-favorite themes from the KINGDOM HEARTS series, re-assembled in an all-new fashion like long-forgotten memories.

Roxas, Axel, and Xion's team attack in ReMind was called "Thinking of You".
Such a beautiful, touching name for an attack that sets Saix and Xemnas on fire.
The bits of Roxas's theme and Xion's theme and everything in this makes it so much more emotional. Days is my favorite KH game, and I've told people you CANNOT get the right feel for it by watching the remix's 'cutscene' version. By the end of the game, you've spent so much time with Xion and Axel, in the cutscene moments of ice-cream and completing missions, that they're legitimately your friends. You rely on them, and you know they'll guard your back better than any other member of the organization; you've worked with them so much you just know what they'll handle and what they can't, like a real partnership. And that's what makes this song work so well, and what makes it so heartbreaking to lose at the end.
Well, that's true, but the main reason why most people would rather deal with the Remix version is because the gameplay is very problematic. Leveling is limited to what you can fit in panels and most enemies are HP sponges on single player. Traversing the worlds, more often than not, is the height of tedium as well. It's small wonder why people would rather just watch the cutscene version.
And even then, people barely tolerate it. Story-wise, it has a lot of problems, too, with one of the more egregious problems being that all characters outside of Roxas habitually talk in cryptic nonsense, if only to keep Roxas guessing, which has infuriated players to no end. It's good that you like Days, but for the fanbase in its entirety, it will always bee considered one of the worst KH games to date.

EikaPrime Even if I watched the game cutscenes by themselves, I feel connected very strongly to every KH character. Frick I dadgum cried for like an hour because of the KH3 ending. Maybe I'm just a KH fanatic, but it's true.
I completely agree. I was so sad that they didn't remaster the game as well as just releasing the cutscenes.
I”ll get the DS game and play it, I always thought 358/2 days was an average game, but now I’ll play it.

I was honestly unprepared to hear Twilight Town's theme transition into 'At Dusk I Will Think of You' I had the worst whiplash of my life and started crying 0:32. It's like my mind is opened with KH2, and then I'm suddenly transported to Days and that HURTED

The character themes on Light are the characters who are in "the realm of light" so to speak, and the characters of whom the themes are on Darkness are lost in the darkness, one way or another. At least, that's my theory.
Has someone else thought about The Lord of the Rings when hearing the 0:23-0:33? I mean, the Song 'Conerning Hobbits' has a similiar String part.

Darkness is horrible compared to light, transitions and homages are almost always rough as hell... it seems it was written by someone without in depth music knowledge or maybe edited by someone who doesn't understand how to do it right
