Knight has excellent instincts for how his character is presented, Cena gets it and has the improvisational skill to meet LA's energy. It is kind of a shame they don't get to work together more often as Knight is the same kind of Babyface with an edge that Cena can be when he really embraces roasting his opponents on the mic.
The whole thing played out MUCH better with John raising the hand the 1st time when he was ref. And Knight returning the favor when they tagged together afterward. It just made more sense 👏🏻 Once again, LA Knight proving why you have to go with your gut and understand “who you are”.
People just don't understand how amazing proper healthcare has gotten now days. Nutrition, TRT, probiotics, and all these breakthrough medical advancements, even just in the last 10 years. You look at wrestlers from the 1980s and they look 50-55 at 30, and they're retired at 40. Vince wouldn't let "Macho Man" wrestle after 40 because he was "old", so he went to WCW. Now days, 40 is a lot of these guy's physical prime.

So it would have had to been another wrestler. Rhodes meant well but Knights approach to his character is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE and you’re right it would have made absolutely no sense for him to raise Cenas hand. I remember cena saying at the post press that moment caught him off guard but really appreciate the respect from la knight and was happy to have the chance to work with the guy. I also remember the journalist asking cena all the questions and cena got testy asking if anyone has a question for la knight lol. It was cool to see that show of respect from la knight though. The fact that cena knows many consider him one of the greatest of all time but would prefer to raise the hand of those he is in the ring with rather than have his own raised. Is really cool.
