for the first time ever online, a multicam edit of kate bush performing 'cloudbusting' as part of her sell-out 22-date "before the dawn" residency at hammersmith apollo, which saw her return to the stage after 35 years.
thank you to the fans who filmed and shared these LQ clips over the internet years ago. now those of us who couldn't be there will have a proper chance to witness before the dawn.
much love to kate! - Видеоклипы
I genuinely think she doesn't realise how special she is. One of the best female artists of all time.
Not one of…THE best!
i agree
Kate Bush is a treasure. John Lydon loves her. So talented. STOP BEING AFRAID OF BRILLIANT MUSICIANS's
Don't forget Stevie Nicks...
For me the best of all time ❤❤❤
I could weep for the music industry - how many artists like her are there out there, who will never come to light because they aren't disposable pop wannabe's which is all the industry seems to want these days? She is a rare, rare talent.
Horse Madonald equally brilliant xx
Shes rare or there's loads out there, make it make sense
Spot on. Well said. The crap they churn out these days makes me want to puke. Utter meaningless manufactured shite.
To be fair, she was an unlikely star even back in the day. That said, I do wish studios would actively seek out talented inventive oddballs like her
She had her big career in the 70/80ies
Shes not even a once in a generation writer. She's a once in a lifetime landmark. Staggeringly talented.
💛💯
Once, ever, period.
And a dedicated mother. Just stopped.. bang. Child first
For sure
Staggeringly talented sums Kate up very well!
Not just a national treasure, a global treasure.
Kate Bush is simply one of the most talented musicians to ever exist, what a star she is
I watch this and it makes me so emotional. I grew up on the South Coast of England in the 80’s. We were a small group of lads from the local Grammar School and only two of us liked Kate, in fact we worshipped her and her music. It’s funny seeing the comments when I remember Kate being parodied on the TV for Wuthering Heights, just because she was so different. My friend and I were mesmerised by her genius and creativity. Her music is timeless. It still touches my soul today and transports me back over 40 years.
So lucky you were to be so close to this treasure named Kate, such a talented woman a gift to us all
We don’t just hear Kate’s voice and music, we feel it in our hearts.
So true.
@@Blacklamass sad that she got older? On that stage is the same Kate as she always was. She is every age and the age she was then. There is no one.. no one...that doesn't age. You included. I am glad she's gotten older, glad she's still living the life she has chosen. Kate's beautiful at any age.
well said
She is amazing and what a song!!! Amazing!!! ❤🥰💞
we sure do , right to the very core of my soul.
Calling Kate Bush an icon is an understatement. She is a giant in modern music history. Hearing the crowd join in brings tears to my eyes. Such magic!
Absolutely agree and my eyes filled with tears too ..I wish I’d been there 😊
The video brought a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.... HOW GOOD WAS THAT!!!
I was at one of these gigs , I was offered £1000 for my ticket. I declined , and it was the best live performance I have ever seen in my life. I wish she would release the DVD , but her being self image of her weight has stopped it being a reality. Such a shame , she is amazing ! So beautiful ❤❤❤❤
That makes me so sad.
I LOVE the moment at 4:13 when she realizes the audience is doing the backing vocals and she mouths "Oh my god"
It’s almost as if she didn’t think that people liked her enough to remember her songs. When the crowd chipped in with some backing vocals, she was visibly touched and you could see her body language change. So charming and so modest.
Just watched that. How charming 🥰
I think she is the most unassuming and grounded person.
Still such a stunning voice 🥰🫶
I would die a happy man if I got to see this live. Sitting on my bed in Wellington with now deceased friends singing along. I was still so depressed at 20 after primary and secondary school. But singing “I just know that something good in gonna happen” made it feel like it would get better. It did. Thanks Kate. And vale, Neil Costello, and your beautiful voice to sing with.
Kate is a national treasure
The Force shines strongly in this one.
Kate Bush is so magical and enchanting. She is like a lady who lives in a forest surrounded by plants, animals and magical creatures. Her music always makes me feel better. Before the Dawn was the most beautiful experience i've ever seen. I wish i could have seen it live 😢
Its like she lives with and knows life's true pulse, in the human heart and how our heart lives in nature.
From the very beginning, Kate did things the way she wanted to do them. Fierce AF!
Oh my goodness. Just landed on this by accident. Absolutely incredible. So incredible to hear her live after all these years. Her voice is so powerful. The first lines I think I stopped breathing.
@@Bobbyreindeer the audio is a live recording. The fan videos are various footage of her shows edited together. So what you are hearing is a live performance.
I’ve just come across this, after not seeing Kate for years! Her voice hasn’t changed a bit, and is just as beautiful as it ever was!
She’s a treasure ❤
As a long time Kate Bush fan, I'm astounded at the clarity, tone and strength of her voice - like the very first time I ever heard her magical music. I'm SO jealous of the attendees of this show. I'm just bowled over, amazed- I love this lady!
We were there - precisely that … she hadn’t changed vocally at all. It was tremendous.
and she's keeping the footage between herself and those lucky attendees, there will be no DVD/Bluray (so far ...fingers crossed)
Her voice is booming so full of depth, feel lucky to glimpse this blurry clip
I don't know, if I had the means at the time, if I would have gone. If it was bad, it would be like killing the father. If good as it was supposed to be, it would have driven me to some dark time, when her music basically saved my life (literally), and I'm afraid I'd have gone the equivalent of a Stendhal syndrome… Gee, even that vids makes me cry like a bloody baby…
Lucky enough to attend, and it was absolutely stunning. No human has a right to sound that good live after 35 years away...except Kate Bush. She is, finally, being put firmly upon the lofty pedestal that is her rightful place. No disrespect to other notable performers of today, but she is so much more than a singer, vocalist what have you. She is an artist, who excels in creativity, originality and sheer brilliance.
Some of the most influential and unique music of all time. The lady is an absolute genius, I love her music.
She looks really happy to be singing especially when the audience comes in.
She's incredibly humble. Few stars receive that adulation. I'm sure she's aware hence why she keeps a pretty low profile.
It's like she really enjoys the fans appreciation, but she absolutely does not crave it as some artists do.
@@shpeen8835 Yeah. Totally agree. She was very flattered at the renewed success of Running Up That Hill but apart from a radio interview, didn't do a thing to promote it. Apparently it made her 6m in royalties. Not that she's money orientated but I'm sure she used it for non-selfish means which we will never learn about.
I teared up ... what a treasure Kate is ❤
One of the greatest, most original, Life-affirming songs of all my time.
I cry every time the audience sings the background vocals and surprises her
This is Kate’s singing voice in 2014?! WOW! Her voice has barely aged and her talent is astronomical. This is my favorite song of hers after Running Up That Hill. I love how unique, emotional, and euphoria-inducing her songs are. She is beyond phenomenal ❤❤❤
She is a bit darker, and the super high notes are not there anymore. There is also no more such vocal gymnastics which she did when young. But she gained even more in the expression department.
@@krollpeter She still has tons of talent and passion in her voice, far more than the overrated mainstream artists we hear about all the time! 🎶
To me, no question that she is one of the most talented artists of her generation.
Anche di altre generazioni.
Not one THE most talented artist of any Generation . ❤
Kate's voice is still as sweet and lovely as it was when Cloud Busting was released. She's wonderful.
The Real Queen of England. Kate Bush is truly one of the kind. No female artist can touch her. Her music will live on for many centuries to come.
Todays youngsters are just becoming aware of this wonderfully talented lady. Our UK Treasure.
Her streaming numbers for her entire music catalog are totally insane (total is million/day). The new generation have found her. Good for Kate!
My life was more beautiful thanks to Kates music.
When I flew to London (by way of Norway) from NYC in 2014, it was all I could do to resist the temptation to read all of the reviews and spoilers before attending my (2) shows at the Hammersmith Apollo. I don't say this often, but I was utterly BLOWN AWAY by Kate and the magically complex and dark tapestry she wove that left us spellbound throughout the 3-hour show. I have seen literally hundreds of concerts over the past 40 years by all of the legends/icons, and Kate is securely at #1. An experience I will never forget as long as I live.
i can imagine....
.. and so am I. waited since 1986 for her, and the show was and will be the best Ive ever seen.
3 hours? My God, what a lucky man you are. So many artists give you an hour and charge you $200.
WITHOUT question the a absolute best male / female singer the uk has ever produced.
GENIUS ❤ ❤ ❤
Listen to Dusty Springfield.
Kate our Kate.
Genius on every level.
I’m now paying her forward to my grandkids
And they’re doing her proud I
We are all so blessed to have this amazing woman in our lives
You're a great grandmother and your grandkids are lucky to have you ❤
I shall always be in love with Kate
The best artist of all time...I adore this lady..45 years on, I'm still listening to her albums ❤
I was at the Manchester Apollo on her first and only ever tour in 1979. Now, that was a gig !!
I was born that year, but became a massive fan just a few years ago and every interview or song she does holds a timeless nostalgia for me. Just a mesmerizing soul ❤
I was there on one of the nights they were filming for the DVD that never materialised. I think Kate is such a perfectionist that the footage wasn’t up to her standards. It was a life changing experience to see her live. The audience interaction was amazing, she seemed genuinely flattered that we were all there to see her.
Lol yeah I thought that too. I was right at the front and thought she was overwhelmed with our reaction to her! Very powerful.
You are so very lucky to have been able to see Kate's live performance. I have been a fan since first seeing her on SNL 45 tears ago this Dec 9. I fully agree, she is indeed life changing.
Hope that Kate will allow the release on DVD and bluray, loved her music since A Kick inside, through to Aerial. Such a great artist and talent, please Kate theres a lot of us out here who would love to see your concert, got the CD set but would to watch the show you put on.
How many artists can retain such a voice after all these years?
Pat Benatar !
Ann Wilson. Kate Bush and Ann & Nancy Wilson. Now that's a tour I'd like to see!
@@RosieHarp and she's a hologram
I understand the audio was recorded during 4 of the actual shows and a rehersal - with some audience noise removed.
Chrissie Hynde
Kate... You are a complete genius!!! Nobody else can sing your songs like you. So tuned, every note is always in the right place. Yesterday, I entered a music shop and the owner and me talked about you... Everything is so amazing! After many decades, your songs are chosen by girls who want to sing, especially on T.V. How marvellous! As a mezzo, those tones are high for me. "Some are born great, some others achieve greatness, Twelfth Night.) You were born great. Brava!!!
Oh my God, the happiness on her face at the sound of the crowd singing is such a beautiful sight 😍
This is my favourite song from Kate Bush. She is so beautiful. What an original and talented artist, have been listening to her since the beginning.
I’m 70 now and still cry whenever I hear Kate sing this song. I don’t know why I have that reaction, I mean it’s a happy sort of song.
it's about unrealized dreams coming true I guess that's enough to get most humans emotional
It's full of hope ❤
Because the brilliance of her genius can't help but transcend and shine through to us.
It's about a father (Wilhelm Reich) being taken away from his son.
Her voice hasn't changed at all, would love to see her perform at the sphere
Unfortunately it did. This song was performed at the very end of the show, and is quite "simple" vocally (if you can talk about "simple" with regard to Kate's music, but yes - compared to many her other songs this one is quite simple), so you don't hear that much difference in her voice. I was at one of these shows, (I'm even a happy owner of an an audio recording of the very show I attended - not made by me, a lot of high quality bootlegs appeared on the Internet right after the shows) and especially in some of The Ninth Wave parts her voice was much worse than it was once. Which obviously doesn't decrease the quality of the entire show, as it was truly a magical experience.
This woman is a genius! One of the most talented artists in the history of music.
Just cried my eyes out
I was there with my daughter - the most uplifting joyous moment whilst we were all chanting along to Cloudbusting. Didn't want it to end!
I was there on the final night singing along to the “yay-ee-ohhs” with tears rolling down my cheeks ❤
I’m not a jealous person by any means but …
I was there, a memory I will carry with me for the rest of my life, what an experience, so much love in the room for her!
@@drssexy2142 Yes that's right, some people got tickets and some didn't, deal with it.
I was there and it was such a fantastic show. More theatre than concert, though this song was the encore and performed straight without theatrics. Along with Joni Mitchell, Kate is the ultimate artist.
Timeless! Kate is a national treasure! Her voice touches your very soul.
God, the power in this. Live drums give it more kick than the recording, and her vocal is just ...
Props to presumably the keyboard player for reproducing the biting gutty edge of the recorded strings, it's note perfect.
her smile and when she touches her heart when the audience sings at 04:13 is so beautiful
She seems to be enjoying it. I saw her at the Apollo in Manchester decades ago. It's a shame she was so nervous about performing live it's taken her so long to go back on stage. She has nothing to fear. Magical songs from a wonderful artist.
I too was at her Apollo Manchester gig in April 1979, best gig I've ever been to.........
@@icicle1968 Me also. my only regret is that she didn't do more tours.
She mesmerised me way back in 1978 she still has the same effect now.
I saw Kate on TV ( SNL) in 1978 and became a devoted fan.
"The Kick Inside" is one of my favorite albums, every song is a masterpiece. I've been a fan ever since. She is a gift from God
And that ladies and gentleman is how it’s done , the sublime Kate Bush just amazing 🥰
Her voice was so untouched, she sounded as young as she was when she recorded this. Such a beautiful thing to see and hear. Thank you for filming and posting.🙏😍
Not playing live has preserved her voice.
Voice richer, more mature! lovely
You lot been on the mushrooms or something? Her voice is deeper. Good still but deeper so not youthful as back then as claimed.
Wow still her beautiful voice and seems such a lovely person. ❤
It’s clearly overdubbed
My absolute favourite Kate Bush track, the whole arrangement was so moving, but genuine goosebumps when the audience joins in.
Beautiful Kate.. and with age, I think your voice is only getting better and stronger.. all the best to you 🤗
When she said or mouthed 'Oh my god', I got chills.
me too!!!
Animathlive I think you are actually the very generous Kate sharing her videos, emotions and talent. 😅
@@cristijan3844 hahaha omg that’s such a compliment! but if i was kate, i’d release the whole thing in HD lol ❤️
@@animathlive Hopefully it will be available sometimes soon, as well as new material.
This is excellent; she can sing and move an audience so well still now.
I never got Kate Bush when I was a teenager in the 1980s - now I absolutely adore her music - she IS a musical genius ❤❤❤
been listening to this amazing lady since the 70s. Never tire of her work. For a young teenager living in a cultural bubble in French Canada, she showed me there was more then just pop music, a greater world out there. there is a lot of love here.
Love your comment
Likewise been listening since the 70's. There is another amazing singer from Ukraine who I think is the modern equivalent of Kate Bush. Not many people have brought me to tears simply by singing, only Kate & Onuka. (Nata Zyzhchenko) she did tour Canada in 2019 & 2022.
If she can't touch your heart and soul, if her music doesn't move you, if she can't make you think of better days, then there's no hope for you. There'll never be a woman like her. Love you K. B. ❤️❤️❤️
For someone who doesn't perform live much anymore, she's really nailing this.
No lip syncing , just raw talent , her voice and a live band , that’s how you do a show 👍👍😉
Loved her back then and still love her now. A unique, special artist there will never be another Kate Bush!
Thank you so much. An all-time favorite song which for my whole life existed only in its studio version. Now hearing the final chorus sung by thousands (and seeing her reaction) is making me cry.
If I had been able to be there I would have been in tears the entire time. Tears of joy and love.
I did that at the start of the show… I said to myself, enjoy! you are there, a few dozen meters from your idol!
It was Friday September 19, 2014, I was there with my wife, and it was her birthday.
@@portalr81 You're very lucky. I couldn't get a ticket.
@@DudeSilad As a fan on the Kate Bush forum at the time I was able to buy my 2 tickets 2 days before the official sale as I believe 9000 fans registered.
@@portalr81 Damn! Wish I had!
Age hasn't tainted the amazing talent of Kate. Same hopeful , soulful feel ss " running up that hill".
All of her songs remind me of my late wife who was taken to young. But every time I watch this video all I can do is cry. She is blessed with beauty, talent and grace ❤ ❤💔❤️❤️❤️🩹❤️❤️
thanks for sharing, scott! that’s beautiful. i’m sorry for your loss. ❤️🩹
Oh god and me too, I listened to this song regularly praying and hoping my wife would make it through her cancer battle. I think of her every day and this song means so so much to me and my kids. Thank you Kate Bush . x
wherever you roam
she's there in your heart
like the sun coming up
Sorry for your loss buddy …hope the music from Kate eases the loss in some way
I totally understand how you feel….i have very bad eczema, all my life, and Kate’s music especially during the 80’s gave me a safe place to relax..as I was bullied and judged on my looks….I’ve loved all her music, and when Aerial came out, it knocked me over…staggering. I just wish she would do more shows..and another album. Music is a great healer, it helps us unlock the sadness, and relieve our souls of burden. ❤
How amazing to relive this. I was lucky to be there on the opening night and it is a night I will never forget. The best concert I have ever attended and I've seen most people.
It must have been astounding for her son to have been on stage with her and to watch her perform. The fans had at least seen that in the early days but this was probably his first experience.
Dear Kate, I know you didn't want me to see this, but just want you to know I LOVE it. You sound better than ever ❤
She looked so moved when the audience joined in. She's just such a phenomena for good☮
her voice is so clear and warm, her power, her charm ... and the song is a hymn!
I don't find it boring at all - why do you think I do?@@marisaelenenadiejamusiccom3974
I would say more like a H-y-r-n...
Whatever that means …@@fretfix1
Not the typical "talent" that is forced upon us, Kate is a National treasure.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Found this by magnificent accident. Her performance was exquisite, made all the more charming by an ever-so-slightly…self conscious… stage presence. The woman never fails to move me.
such an immensely beautiful melody over a perfect rhythm,..combined with strong vocals and a fantastic mix.
pop music like it should be!
we were so lucky to have lived through this time.. in the 80's..
This is probably my most favourite album of all time. It is so disappointing that there was no official video of the serial of concerts she did at the time. Much gratitude for posting this.
As a teenage run-away in 1985, Kate Bush was one of my favorite artists during that tumultuous time, and this line meant so much to me:
*_I just know that something good is gonna happen_*
*_I don't know when_*
*_But just saying it could even make it happen_*
Bravo to you for believing in yourself and in the universe!👏👏👏👏👏👍
The musical director/band leader who put this together should be highly applauded - Brilliantly orchestrated and then the band is totally in the pocket and tight - this combined with her incredible lyrics and heartfelt performance makes this a master performance - oh, and the audience were fantastic !
Well, the bass player is 77 year old Tony fucking Levin, literally considered a GOD by fellow bassists. He’s from King Crimson and for decades part of Peter Gabriel’s back up band.
i suspect the praise needs to go to Kate, judging by this audio 'Just make it sound like the record' must of been the brief for the MD, which when youve got the worlds best players to hand is probly a lot easier than putting any of your own spin/interpretation on it.
AMAZING KATE. JUST AMAZING.
@@garrickmusic Thanks for the info - makes total sense. I don't know much about the British session musician scene but my guess was that the band is probably a whose who of top players. I know she has had a long association with David Gilmour but I can't spot him on stage.
@@CommViewerhe wasn't there, but the keyboard player is Jon Carin who played with Floyd and Gilmour since 1987.
Maybe the most brilliant concert I’ve ever missed. It seemed that five minutes after ticket sale opened I already was five minutes too late 😢. I so love her music!
She encapsulates everything about being unique different from the norm, did she not just make us all feel special in the moment? What a woman❤
When I started working with " Special Needs" clients my first job was working with three young autistic kids. The young girl would always say, " I am the happiest person in the world!" And because of her conviction there was no doubt in my mind that she indeed was. Oh how we fear our power. It is a scary place, this world we have chiseled out for ourselves. Thanks Kate for putting it on the line and delivering this message of self empowerment! Thank-You.
She is one of the best voice on the Planet. Also humble and modest human being. 4 octave vocal range. First I hear her at 10 now im 55 and love her
I was lucky to see her at the Hammersmith Apollo twice in 2014. I will never forget the experience
I was also lucky to see her then and yes will never never forget it.
Same here! And this was the perfect ending of a wonderful show.
yes best gig ever
what date ? I was there on September 19
Same here, queued up at 7 am on the last day to get a return from the box office, at 6.45pm they called me over to get my golden ticket, amazing night.
Powerful and deep voice made me cry.
Her voice is incredible. It hasn't changed!
Kate absolutely nailed it, what a performance, her best song too imo 👌🏻
this song made me fall in love with her 💕
@@animathlive totally understandable 😊
Wasn’t emotionally ready to watch this. Been a fan since I was a wee lass in the 70’s and this is my favourite song of our Kate’s. I’m off to reapply my mascara. Wish I’d been able to get tickets. ❤
What an unbelievable voice. Kate is special. I love her so much.
Brilliant beautiful Kate!! ❤ 💃🏼
This brought tears to my eyes. Hearing Kate is like re-experiencing every emotion you’ve felt over your adult life… she is ever present and has been a part of my life all the way from the mid 80’s to now. Thank you Kate.. as a musician you have always been a beacon of taste, that my wandering ship has navigated towards in troubled waters ❤️
I was lucky enough to get a ticket for this show, the whole row of seats where I sat was just blokes like me, and they were in tears, like me, the closest thing to a religious experience, and I’m not religious. I have her Babooshka poster at the foot of my bed, and I say good morning to her and good night to her every day. Her music permeates my soul, just love her, she is a beautiful genius, no Botox, no tattoos, no piercings, just genuine beauty inside and out.❤
I’m always irritated by people filming gigs with their mobile phones … but thank goodness some folks did on this occasion. This was very moving.
This was the most magical experience I’ve ever had. Will never forget this convert and then whole balcony bouncing along. Best ever ❤️
Ah! KATE !! Such a HUGE part of my 1980s days in college. Still beautiful. Still magnetic STILL KATE!!! That voice remains glorious to this day.
I would burst out into tears if I ever saw her live ngl
Hi every body Kate Bush is one of my favourite singers. Annie Lenox and Amy Lee too .Love from Brittany in France
OMG I just found this after thinking I'd never see any footage. Goosebumps from the first note then tears from the memory of the experience. I'll never forget how Hammersmith shook during this finale.
Now I'm older, the concept of this song just pierces the heart. What a wonderful thing to experience. That uplift from a father. I'm so happy to see this. Though I do feel sorry it went against Kate's wishes. I believe stage fright is part of the reason. Kate's my morning earworm oftentimes 💛
It's a shame she never felt happy enough with the footage they shot, to release it. The concert was an absolute triumph.
I was lucky enough to see this an amazing and very initimate show.
I 'm completely overwelmed! Tears in my eyes! Thank you so much!!!
