You look at total resume, and I'd say that both Favre and Rodgers clearly have better resumes. Both Super Bowl champions, both Super Bowl MVPs, both 3x league MVPs.
I'd even argue that John Elway has a more favorable resume.
It's not even a knock on Brees, but he's really had maybe one season where he was arguably the best quarterback in the league. Just about every year of his career there was always at least one quarterback who was simply better than him.

People get caught up with "if you're not top 5 then you're not elite," or "Mt. Rushmore" of things. In this instance, the top tier category extends to like 7 or 8. Brees, Marino, Johnny U, they're all elite quarterbacks along with Brady, Montana, Peyton, Favre, Rodgers, and Elway. This is the absolute highest of quarterback play that has ever been played in the history of football.

Other than that he had two great defensive ends and a great safety who barely played due to injury. It's tough to judge QBs because of drastically different eras, different teams, systems, surrounding talent etc. Alot of guys have higher passer ratings all time than Favre but he's considered top 10 by pretty much anybody who knows football.

He had more help on BOTH sides of the ball and in the front office than Brady, Brees, and Rodgers and in his first SB winning run had 3tds, 7ints and in his second SB winning run put up the worst passer rating and QBR by a SB winning QB. Brady is the GOAT regular season QB. Manning just had more stacked offenses and threw more pass attempts from the within the 5 yard line than any QB in NFL history to artificially pad his TD numbers. Huge choker in the playoffs 14-13 and he needed Von Miller to BARELY get him above .500 in the playoffs.
Manning played with Faulk, Edgerrin, Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Tarik Glenn, Saturday, then D-Thomas (6'3, ran a 4.3.forty electronic time), Decker, Sanders, Welker, J. Thomas, 3 all pros on offensive line, No Fly Zone. 2 rings to show for it. NFL record 9 one and dones - and he had multiple #1 OVERALL defenses.
Yet he played with more HOF talent on offense, AND probably defense (Mathis, Freeney, Sanders won DPOY, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware) than any of the other 3.

Brady is going to pass him in many of these totals next season, but I don't think he gets enough credit for his legacy on his Post Katrina impact on that organization.
I don't think its a stretch to say that he saved professional football in New Orleans post-Katrina. He became synonomous with the area during his 15 seasons there, nad obviously got them their only title.
That legacy is far more important to me than just his stats, and his stats are no joke.
