@woodchuck 93 Marino never threw for 70k. He only has 61k. Brees is still fastest in history to 50k, 60k, and 70k. Faster than Manning, Favre and Brady (Brady has been in the league longer but Drew beat him to it by 2 years). Even adjusted for the rules and judging by what all the other QB's are doing currently, 80k (what Brees will end with) still has to be considered more than what Marino would have thrown for. Just because the rules changed doesn't mean you get to throw for INFINITY yards. There has to be some adjustment rate, and if Drew throws for 80k then he would've at least thrown for 65k under past rules
I think they have been pretty fair for the most part. I was shocked because since this is the social media age where hot takes are taken for common sense like this naïve fanboy above me. Brees is great and in the top 10 all time. That's what people have said and they are right. He isn't better than Brady, Montana, Manning, Unitas, Marino, Elway, etc. He broke a big record, but really isn't the all time leader because it doesn't include playoffs. These records are going to be broken all the time with the league continuing to lean toward offense. He has never won an MVP, which will always hurt him. Plus, he hasn't had a defense because he got a little greedy with his contract. If he could win one more ring, he could really cement his legacy and he has a great shot this year of doing it. I hope he does it, too.
@@thefilmeffect6089 MVP is a media voted award. It's irrelevant. Case in point, Brees has 11 TD (plus 2 rushing) to 0 INT this year and still isn't mentioned in the MVP race.
We only five weeks into the season, so no one is really talking about the MVP except when it comes to Pat Mahomes. Brees' completion percentage will give a great shot, along with him breaking records. We will just have to wait and see.
@@coreilly796 he's being disrespected regarding his place all time. Look at it like this: LeBron is an all time great. LeBron or Jordan is a worthwhile debate. Now if someone was to say Charles Barkely (who is also an all time great) was better than LeBron, that's disrespectful to LeBron. That's what's happening to Brees.
this is a prime example of hating on brees...they refuse to put this man where he belongs in history because of rings. Rodgers has one and they praise him...just two NFC championships for both... packers were 13-3 before rodgers and the saints were 3-13 before brees...he resurrected a city and a team... truly a class act
Completely agree! Hey switch from individual to team stats just to justify their dumb comments. Maybe just stretching to fill time since this is idiotic.
What they mean is that Brees has an above AVERAGE arm yet has completed so many passes which makes him GREAT statistically but we all know his arm or feet is not better than Rogers. Rogers is an all time GOAT talent. Rogers has an unbelievable arm/feet/legs but doesn't have the passing records that Brees has which does put him down a few notches but doesn't put him below Brees because great does not just mean rings. Talent wise Rogers is several notches above Brees.
This is literally the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen done to an athlete. This is borderline slander. So the Saints are perennially top 5 offense, for 13 years, often #1... But it's drew's fault that they are losing. They bring up the records of the losing seasons, but never show the defense rankings of those years, but 4 of them are 31 or 32, some are 30, but none of the losing seasons are above 28.... Yet that's Drew's fault. Skip LIED and said the Saints' best season was 09 and 17 when they ran more, but that's blatanly false. They Saints did best in 09, but they also went 13-3 in 2011... the year Drew broke Dan Marino's record single season yardage record and threw for 46 TD's... or 2013 when they went 12-4 (which is still better than '17s 11-5) and drew threw for 5200... Why are they lying on Drew Brees the day after his tremendous accomplishment just to make a point and belittle this man's career...??????????? This seems personal. Brady and Manning were the ones that got injured for a season, yet Drew is the one that couldn't do well in the past eras??? None of what they said was accurate or factual. It all came with purposely negative interpretation and cherry picked statistics... I'm hurt
Yeah, it's ridiculous. He also pointed out how Tom has been to the playoffs 15/16 years but Tom's arguably in the worst division in football while you could argue that the saints are in the toughest division in the league. No disrespect to Tom Brady because you still have to go out there and win but it's not really fair to say just look at their records when there's so much more to it.
Silver Jaiden I don’t think that’s it..they didn’t try to compare him stats wise to Rodgers or brady...because in almost every category besides accuracy, brees is below brady and Rodgers and beats manning in some stats..but I think even with a good defense he would of struggled still...because he already has more attempts than brady and Rodgers...I think his offense just couldn’t get it done when it came time to the playoffs like Peyton...but he would of had more playoff wins because back then the NFC was way weaker than the AFC..so I could be wrong..
yea, he definitely didn't bring up that Tom has had 14 top 10 defenses in his 19 years of play... and that Tom's WORSE defense was better than 11 of Drew brees' defenses over the past 13 years... Lets not bring that up when we talk of Tom Brady, but when it's Drew Brees lets FIND the 1 stat.... 1 STAT!!! that he's not tops all time in, and use that against him
Silver Jaiden Yeah I don’t know how these two idiots could have ignored the fact that drew has dealt with playing with some of the worst defenses of all time. Brady and Manning have at least had decent defenses throughout most of their careers. If you gave drew Brees a half decent defense, he’d have multiple rings by now.
Isaiah Williams Yeah, these two idiots are completely ignoring the fact that drew has had historically bad defenses that have let him down time after time. Brady and Peyton have had at least decent defenses throughout their careers. Drew has done everything in is his power to help his team win but since his defenses have always sucked, he only has one super bowl. Drew Brees might be he goat if he had half decent defenses during his career.
LeeTravius Mckay he’s in Jeter territory for how much his fans love and respect him. What New Orleans went through with Katrina they looked to the Saints to lift their spirits. Drew is a true professional. Not a Saints fan but always been a Drew Brees fan
You're right, those that don't have any knowledge of how much consistency it actually takes to do the things that Drew Brees does will blame the NFL, but in reality, what he has done has been unreal... I've viewed Brees as a guy who should have won multiple superbowls, if they didn't have that defensive targeting penalties from Greg Williams. In my opinion that was weird in its own right. As if the Saints weren't in the plans for the NFL... conspiracy, not trying to put that out there, but tell me teams weren't trying to take out offensive players prior to suspensions after that championship year. Drew Brees will go down as an all time great, great than Manning, but on par with Brady to me.
with the amount of weapons and the respectable defense he has had the past 5 years.... Drews stats might have been impressive but he has not gotten the job done. Dude is a glorified Kirk Cousins all stats no results. Cry away in the comments 5 rings= Brady GOAT
Last I checked rodgers carried his pathetic defenses farther then Brees...... Brady with Belichik would have a way better record then a pitiful .500 playoff record and missing the playoffs that many times LOL
DREW BREES IS THE MOST UNDERRATED QB IN NFL HISTORY... I'M GLAD I WAS AROUND TO WITNESS GREATNESS... IF ONLY THESE MILLENNIALS COULD'VE SEEN DAN MARINO PLAY... #Greatness
Thank you! Why is it so difficult for people to understand this? Going to the playoffs and winning Superbowl rings is a team accomplishment, not an individual one.
Skip is ridiculous. Drew has had the worst defense in the NFL during the past 7 years Drew Brees YPA for the last 7 years is 7.93 Tom Brady YPA for the last 7 years is 7.47 We are not even going to get into the yards because Brees has blown him out the water with multiple 5k seasons. To say that Drew Brees is checking it down and Tom Brady isn’t is laughable. Clearly you are bias because you know if Drew Brees has had a defense comparing to Brady he would have 4-5 rings by now. If Drew Brees was playing for the Broncos since 2012 he would have 5 chips easily. He can’t play defense, and we know that anytime the patriots give up 30 points or the defense allows 10 points in the second half tom brady loses EVERYTIME!
Calvin Robb yards avg isn’t a big difference between brady and Brees..and the reason he has more yards is because he throws more than brady..and I mean way more...if brady threw all season long like brees I’m pretty sure he would have the same if not more yards than brees...no one ever said that brady didn’t dip and dunk to receivers obviously because that’s what he is know for doing nowadays...and I would disagree that he would have 3-5 championships on his belt I’ll tell u why...if he had a defense, he would of easily gone to the playoffs and make it to the Super Bowl, but the part where I disagree is the winning part..the AFC has always had te more dominant defense than the NFC and I just don’t think drew is the type of qb that can take on a great defense complimented by a great offense in the Super Bowl..now maybe because the afc is weaker but I would say 2014 and under is all AFC DOMINATED defenses..I would consider brees as like a Rodgers but not as good because I have yet to see him beat a great defense in the playoff runs..without a defense..hence brady and rodgers
pancho villa you really have no football knowledge lol the NFC has had better defenses then the AFC you need to do your research. The AFC east has been a weak division for majority of the last 18 years lol the NFC south was by far one of if not the toughest divisions for years with Carolina defense and Tampa bay, and Atlanta lol drew woulda easily won several Super Bowls if he had better defenses point blank period. You should stick to watching soccer or some other sport.
There has never been a more disrespected QB in the history of the NFL than Drew Brees. The man is a top 10, borderline top 5 if he gets another ring, QB and no one outside of New Orleans really acts like it. It's about time the man gets the respect he deserves. Talked about this on my channel today.
mrvizcarrondo I understand that but Brady plays for arguably the best coach of all time and has never really had a bad defense. Manning had a whole group of legends on the colts and then had arguably the best defense in the league when he was on the broncos. I’m not downplaying them but if Brees has that he’d be winning consistently too
Every single 7-9 Saints season was about 5 plays away from 9-7 or 10-6. I can't remember the last game the Saints lost bc Drew and the offense couldn't get it going.
Exactly ...that should be the end of the discussion but they wanna belittle him . But don’t one belittle Tom like that and he plays in this era too right 🤔
This is so disrespectful and proves to you how underrated Drew Brees is even when breaking a crazy record like this. Shannon really tried his hardest to discredit Drew Brees’ entire career. Shannon said nothing about rules and the protection QBs receives when he talked about Tom Brady throwing 500 TDs. All he did was deepthroat Tom’s career. They literally never talk about Drew or the Saints and when they do they can’t even give him full credit this is crazy.
I'd take brees over manning, brees should've had 2 MVPS to go on his resume and then these shows wouldn't be able to diss him so easily as if he isn't top 5
Brees should have won the MVP in '09, though I understand why Manning won it. However, you can't tell me that Drew deserved it over Rodgers. Aaron was simply inhuman that year!
Someone tell Shannon and Skip that Brees doesnt play defense. The bad defenses he's had is what cost them playoff spots and wins. That's not on Brees. He played great and put up greatnumbers to win games, unfortunately his defense played worse. Can't expect him to put up 40 every game bc of the defense. That arguement is asinine
It's not about eras, it's not about baseball, it's not about rules. Is it so difficult to celebrate athletes without explaining away their successes? I enjoy Undisputed but daaammnn!
Comparing Brees to Eli should be a crime against humanity. Brees is the 2nd greatest QB in our era only behind Brady. The mans played for years without a defense. We would have had a Brees vs Brady SuperBowl if the Saints defense could have done its job in Minnesota. He also plays in a tougher division as the NFC South has produced 2 of the last 3 NFC champions
It sucks that drew has had to deal with having some of the worst defenses in nfl history. If he had half decent defenses for the majority of his career, he’d have multiple Super Bowls by now. He literally has put up 40+ touchdowns in a season and 5000 yards but they still finish 7-9 because their defenses have been so historically bad. Truly one of the all time greats.
Why does it suck? He did it to himself. Look into his contract history, you will see that he is one of the big reasons they haven't had the money for a great defense. He got greedy.
The Film Effect Quarterbacks get paid all the time. That doesn’t mean you can’t draft better as a team. He is not the reason why their defenses have been historically bad during his time there. All great quarterbacks get paid at some point and even some not so great ones get paid. That doesn’t mean your entire defense has to suck after you get paid. They sucked before he got paid. When they won the super bowl, they still weren’t that good, they were just able to force a lot of turnovers. Drew Brees can’t play defense. If he puts up 40 points and his defense gives up 45, there nothing he can do about that.
Why you hate Drew Brees so much? I bet if Brady or Rodgers or Baker Mayfield did it, they would be praising them. Stop hating on him and stop saying he has no arm.
Drew could always throw a slick spiral + an accurate one. he just can't air it out like other guys could or crazy fastballs. he has to grip it and set his feet hard in dirt, extend head to see over the Oline. the fact he overcomes that makes his accomplishments prob more impressive imo.
If Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers would've have done it with the RESULTS with Brees have, they wouldn't be praising. If you replace the name with the exact same stats. It wouldn't matter. It would mean Brady would be 7-6 in playoffs with 1 superbowl win. It would be the exact same reaction they would be having right now.
If he was that GOAT QB, he would carry the defense and lead them to wins, like Tom Brady. I know Tom Brady hasn't had the WORST defense. But he has usually always had a pretty bad Defense. Passing yards don't win you games. Points win you games which gets you to playoffs and superbowls. If those passing yards don't RESULT into playoff wins and superbowls, what do the passing yards mean? NOTHING
Skip is so wrong by discrediting Drew for missing the playoffs multiple times. Football is a TEAM sport. It doesn’t matter how good your quarterback is, if your team isn’t very good, you won’t win anything period.
Quarterback is the most important position. Unfortunately, that's who gets a share of the blame, as well. You can't knock the others for what they accomplished when the opportunity arrived.
Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning, Otto Graham, Brett Favre, John Elway, Dan Marino, Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw, and many more great quarterbacks didn't miss the playoffs more than or equal to 50% of the time during their careers. Stop it.
Drew Brees the only QB in one season to Beat Brady”Farve”Manning & Warner all Hall of Famers plus win the SuperBowl !!! He’s only QB to Beat 3 NY teams in one season!! The First QB To surpass The yards Record without having a superstar Receiver and without any going to the pro bowl last year Michael Thomas was the first of his career!!!! He’s Breaking records without a Elite Receivers
Trell Hatch yeah because all he does is check downs to rbs and tight ends and they run it in for him 😂😂 he is hot garbage enjoy another season not winning anything.
After that Superbowl the league gave the saints, how come they lost to a 7-9 team in the playoffs. And went 7-9, 7-8, 7-9 in consecutive seasons. He's benefited from the new rules to protect the QB and wide receiver. And he's played the last 13 seasons in a doom stadium. He's probably top 12-15. My opinion.
gilbert brown to answer that can’t nobody give u anything remember he played with interim coaches and players being suspended year after the SuperBowl they never recover after that what team could and the team u speaking on was Seattle upcoming and those 3 years they dominated showed they wasn’t flukes
"He threw for 5000 yards and didn't make the playoffs" "didn't make the playoffs 6 times out of 12 in New Orleans" last I checked football is more than an offensive game. For most of his career Drew has had absolutely terrible defenses so he had to throw a lot to keep the team in the game. Shannon brought up an argument for Rodgers vs Brady and he said that only once has Brady had a defense that was lower than like 15th or 20th in the league, Rodgers has had like 7 such defenses. I would like to see where Brees lands in that category, maybe 10-12 times.....
Lets not forget that Rodgers hasn't played as long as both of them and started his career three years into being in the nfl. When rodgers is their age, how many times will his defense be ranked 25th or worse.
again... it has nothing to do with the era. It has specifically to do with the blatant and unbridled hatred these talking heads have towards Drew Brees. If they spoke this way about Tom Brady then he'd be underrated. Same with Manning. But they won't because they want the fans to drool over those 2 or 3 players. They don't like brees so they FIND ways to belittle him. They search through decades of stats to find the 1 stat.... 1 STAT!!! that he's not tops all time in, and use that against him... Media is the only reason Drew Brees is underrated.
@Silver Jaiden, Your right , BRO. That's exactly what they do. Those other QB's they've overhyped for years now. Those other QB's play in much weaker divisions and conferences. Drew Brees is the greatest.
Disagree, Strong disagree. The era is everything. You literally can't compare stat for stat to an 70's 80's or even a 90's QB because the rules were so different. The way you could jam and get physical with wide outs and QB's (this plays into injuries) changes the way teams approached the game. In 2018 you can't touch anybody on offense except a running back lol. Last year in the NFL there were 8 Quarterbacks who threw for 4,000 yards or more... lol to put that into context, Johnny Unitas only threw for more than 3,000 yards TWICE in 18 Seasons (Top 10 QB all time) Joe Montana had 0! 4000 yard seasons (Top 2 QB all time arguably the best). Is Brees better than those guys? How do you determine that? if you going off just passing yards.. I don't think that will produce the most definitive answer
@@dionta6934 so explain why "the era" only comes up for Drew Brees?? he plays in the same era as TB, Manning, and Rodgers but he's the only one that they bring up the era for. Even though, IN THIS ERA he's still the most yards, td's, highest comp %, etc. I understand that the era makes a difference, but at some point it has to even out. He's thrown for 20K more than the other era QB's. Is that enough to say that he'd throw for 20K less in the 80's and 90s? he'd still be top all time
@@dionta6934 The idea that the passing era started recently is so false as passing stats in the higher numbers were becoming the norm. Drew played in the same era as these other guys who are never belittled in the media and has statistically been better. His career is never provided context but guys like Aaron who is not better..are constantly given the benefit of the doubt. Very weird
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this sound like a lot of hating. Comparing Brees to ELI?! That's a REACH along with comparing football stats to baseball stats. Yall wylin. Brees the GOAT. #WhoDat
Drew brees is in top 5 all time, wish the dolphins signed him then brady may not have dominated the AFC east might’ve actually been competitive for the past 10 years
It's crazy how they never mentioned the saints horrible defenses one time...Arguably some of the worst defenses of all time thru 2012 and 2015 but will still say his passing numbers don't equate to enough wins...But will continue to show all the love to Tom "Cheating" Brady & Peyton Manning when Brady has never had a defense worst than 19th during a season & Peyton had arguably the best pass rushing duo in the last 20yrs..I'm talking future Hall Of Famers Dwight Freeney & Robert Mathis(Maybe)...Oh not to mention Brees plays in a much tougher division than Brady, Manning or any other Future HOF QB who's still playing...Since the turn of the century, only 2 divisions has sent every team to the Super Bowl..NFC WEST & Drew Brees's division THE SOUTH(Much Better Competition)...Brady & Manning's division can't even begin to compare...And then y'all compare Eli Manning to Brees, in terms of wins..If Drew Brees would've ever had those NY Giant Defenses that Eli had, I guarantee Drew would've won much more than 2 Super Bowls..So if y'all gonna talk about people get your facts right..I digress!
See, the defense point is what I gravitate towards more. WHAT IF Drew had that giants defense? He would have a different coach, would Coach allow so much passing plays? To take away from his runners? Saquan has to LEARN, the hard way, what being an NFL rb really is.
As a Pats fan, I honestly think Brees is one of the most underrated QB's of all time. He's had a terrible defense for years and still manages to put up incredible numbers. Let him have this moment. I don't understand the hate at all.
calmly ignoring that half the reason Brady (AFC) and Manning (AFC) get to the playoffs is cause they were/are in the weaker side of the draw. Saints are in the NFC and the south too... shock horror they dont have a gaurranteed playoff place. Brees is an incredible QB and i really really really wish he was in the AFC so he could have the same records as Brady (and also cause im a panthers fan and would like to not have to play him twice a year :) )
Respect to Brees, I remember him at Purdue #15, that dude always been a Warrior. I do agree with Shannon, these Pass Records are watered down due to all these new rules but congrats to Brees. If Favre, Elway, Moon and Marino was playing in this ERA they would put up CRAZY NUMBERS!
OTKP yeah it feels like everyone can throw for 4000 yards and 25plus touchdowns that’s part of the reason why statistically in his mid 30s to early 40s Brady has gotten better, look what manning did his last mvp season that was partly due to the era he played in
Drew Brees and Peyton Manning have to be the 2 Best statistical quarterbacks of ALL time. The only knock on them is that they have 3 combined super bowl wins and drew beat Peyton in a super bowl.
Honestly Peyton for some reason he just underperforms in playoffs and this coming from the most cerebral qb of all time it is mind boggling he only has one chip in Indianapolis, and the reason why drew gets disrespected is because he missed the playoffs a lot of times at least Peyton Manning made it almost every year he was in the league which is also the same knock against Eli even though he has two rings
@@Shawn.Mathew TBH he mostly only underperformed against the Patriots (how ironic 😑🤣), but I get you. But I agree that the records factor way too much into their accomplishments, which is stupid. Aaron Rodgers has a better Passer Rating and QBR than Brady in the postseason. But he only has 1 SB as well. Records aren't everything. This is a team sport, and Drew has done WAY more for the Saints than most have done for any team. One of the best 💯
Amazing how they don't mention him having some of the worst defenses of all time playing a factor of him missing playoffs...Record breaking horrible...i remember one year the Saints offense averaged 35 pts but the defense gave up 38.
Wins and losses is a team accolade. I dunno why they bring up wins and loss record. His numbers are personal. His completion percentage with the number of throws he attempts is amazing!!! also plays In the toughest division. Brees best receiver was Colston who never even made the pro bowl. He had jimmy Graham and look what Graham has become ever since leaving the Saints. Now he has mike Thomas. We saw what he did with Brandin cooks. Brees is highly underrated. Best playoff run to the Superbowl against all HoFer QBs. Brees would be considered a GOAT if he was in an easy division and went to the playoffs every year.
So the defense doesn’t count for drew brees missing the playoffs so he can play defense oh u guys missed that point by a mile he has been a top 3 quarterback every season
Think about the division Brees plays in. Either the Falcons, Panthers, or Saints are elite each year and their always beating each other up. What division does Brady play in again? Oh yeah the worst of them all. And the Saints have consistently had a terrible defense that two years in a row set the record for the most yards allowed in a season. Food for thought.
Jeremy Sivertsen the pats beat both the almighty panthers and falcons in the super bowl the toughest division means nothing if you can’t beat the best team when it matters the most in the super bowl and Trust me I hate the pats with a passion lol
Yeah I agree that division is a roulette of who wins the division but at the same time drew should dominate that division which is why he gets disrespected somewhat
@@Broddy305 all four nfc south teams have made it too the superbowl in the last 15 years. How many afc east teams have made it in that span? I'll tell ya, 1. That said playing revisionist history or the what if game is a fools errand.
I would expect Skip to find obscure stats to make an argument but I am really disappointed in Shannon. Both of them are trying to their best to put down Bree's accomplishments in a 'diplomatic' manner. The Saints were the laughing stock of the league before Brees and Payton. Neither mentioned the terrible defenses the Saints had during Bree's career in NO. Bree's greatness, goes further than just these numbers he has taken so called scrubs and turned them into diamonds. Just look at the number walk ons and lowly ranked draft picks that turned into household names while playing with Brees: Antonio Gates, Lance Moore, Darren Sproles, Marques Colston, Pierre Thomas, Jimmy Graham, Willie Snead the IV, the list goes on. If you go further back Brees along with the late coach Tiller turned around a Purdue football program that was the laughing stock of division 1 NCAAF. Let me ask the folks in the comment section, if the QBs (Brady, Manning, Favre, Roethlisberger, etc) that most people rank higher than Brees were the starting QB in NO during the 2006 season, would the result be the same?
I believe Manning would have. He basically did the same thing, and had the same problems in our mess of a team that is Indianapolis LOL but most others, no I don't think so. I agree, the context should matter just as much, because most would NOT have been able to do for NO, what Brees has done
Work more on your data analysis Skip and Shannon........ Brees didn't make the playoffs 6 seasons because 1. He never had a running game 2. Defense was always either average or poor 3. The NFC South is more competitive than for example the AFC East.
Drew Brees is on the same level as Brady and Rogers no doubt. The man is absolutely phenomenal and deserve all the respect and praise for this amazing achievement! Put sum respect on this mans name!
They're not accounting for the fact that saints defense was trash for almost all of those years, give Drew a top 10 defense and you have what happened in 2009
5 of the 9 5k seasons... to no other QB ever getting more than 1 4 of the 9 70%+ seasons with no other QB getting more than 1 First QB with back to back 40 TD seasons. Brady has only 1 and that was with Moss Fastest to 50k yards... 60k yards... 70k yards... in history Fastest to 300 TD's... 400 td's... and soon to be 500 td's... Most 4000 yard season in the same era as Brady, Rodgers, and Manning Most consecutive 4000 yard seasons Most 30 TD seasons in the Same era as Brady Rodgers and Manning Most consecutive 30 TD seasons Most consecutive 5000 yard seasons Most times leading the nfl in Yards, Td's, comp %, But the fact that he has 500 more attempts makes him less than everybody else, lol.?? No other QB has come close to Drew Brees. You can't take his abilities and accomplishments away with made up excuses why you don't like him. WTf does this man have to do. Play Cornerback???? Even in the era of lax rules, he went way above and beyond his peers... that's a condemnation of the other QB's not Brees.
Brees also has the highest passing percentage of all time and that makes him awe some because of all his passing attempts not less . Think about it. More attempts is harder to have a higher passing percentage. And he throws long passes too not just short dinks and dunks like Skip says.
Whether you like it or not everyone felt that special moment for brees when he broke the record and he was being praised by his fam, teammates , and owner of the nfl
@@koolkitties8552 by the time Jimmy hit his prime with us was like his last year. We just targeted him a lot because of his athleticism from basketball and height
I Still Wanna Know What Has Aaron Rodgers Done That Drew Brees Hasn’t Already Accomplished? I Mean If He’s Better Than Drew Explain Why Because Both Got 1 Ring But Everything Else Drew Is Better In Soooo....🤷🏾♂️
There has never been a more disrespected QB in the history of the NFL than Drew Brees. The man is a top 10, borderline top 5 if he gets another ring, QB and no one outside of New Orleans really acts like it. It's about time the man gets the respect he deserves. Talked about this on my channel today.
I Mean Shannon Right, NFL records For QB don't mean much anymore because the rules makes it so much easier for an Average QB to throw 3500 to 4000+ yards in a season
The numbers are the numbers. I understand that the rule changes play a huge part, however his consistent accuracy speaks volumes. None of those other QBs have had to put a minimum of 35 points on the board to win because their defense allowed so many points to be scored. Drew is the GOAT. Point blank. You can't hold him accountable for the defensive play. Brady and Rogers seem to be the league's golden boys. They've had rules implemented into the league tailored to them specifically. Don't downplay Drew's accomplishments. Best QB to play the game considering all things.
He outgunned Manning SB 44, and outplayed manning during 2 of the Seasons that manning won the MVP. He had more yards, td's, and less INTs in both of those seasons but manning was given the MVP for some reason. Not to mention that he was runner up to Rodgers in 2011 and had the most yards, td's then too. So he's outplayed manning/brady/rodgers several seasons. He's def top 5 In no order bc i think that's impossible so we'll do chronological Unitas/Marino/Manning/Brady/Brees
I grew up in Texas and all my family were Cowboy fans going up and my first football game ever was watching Emmitt Smith break the rushing record against the Seahawks in the Old Texas stadium As I Grew Older I became a Saints fan and I always wanted to go watch a game in New Orleans and my first game ever I saw Drew Brees break the passing yardage record crazy how life works huh

It’s not fair to compare Super Bowls and playoff appearances when comparing Drew Brees and Tom Brady because the patriots are in arguably the worst division in the nfl while the saints are in arguably the best division in the nfl. It’s a lot harder to win a division when you have the Carolina panthers and the Atlanta falcons to beat. While it’s a lot easier to beat the Miami dolphins, Buffalo bills, and the New York jets. Also the patriots have probably one of the best defenses in the league almost every year and you know what they say “ defense wins championships”.
What are your thoughts on Drew Brees breaking the all-time passing yards record?
Well Deserved by Brees
🐐
Deserved but not the same as when Marino did it
You guys are dead wrong, The Times he didn't make the playoffs his Defense was last in the league
Most underrated quarterback of all time. I wish he had a more decent defense over the years.
Mr. FOOTage I don’t think he’s underrated it’s just that he’s played around some who are better Rodgers, Brady
If he had a defense he would have 2 or 3 more super bowl rings

How is he underrated?
he’s a top 10 QB, how is he underrated
As a Brady fan the disrespect Drew Brees gets by the media and the league disgusts me.
Who is disrespecting Drew Brees? All I ever from the media is that he’s a class act and an all time great QB.
Drew Brees is the most underrated GOAT and probably the most likeable great QB
Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees the most talented qbs🐐
You really think Brees is the greatest QB to ever do it?
Aaron Rogers is way more talented than Drew
Peyton is pretty likeable
that because people that win arent likable, these guys get some rings they get as many haters as fans
Replace Dak with Drew Brees and Skip will realize how great Brees is.
Bro them boys would literally go undefeated I would put everything on it!
You could say that about a lot of teams, Dak can’t throw
Brees would easily be celebrated as a top 5 qb if he was playing for a franchise like dallas, green bay, etc.
Replace Dak with Sean Lee 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Isildur17 Word!
this is a prime example of hating on brees...they refuse to put this man where he belongs in history because of rings. Rodgers has one and they praise him...just two NFC championships for both... packers were 13-3 before rodgers and the saints were 3-13 before brees...he resurrected a city and a team... truly a class act
Don't forget Brees also won a Super Bowl too; the game where the Saints beat Peyton Manning.
Rodgers is still a great qb tho but still what drew brees has done is absolutely amazing
Completely agree! Hey switch from individual to team stats just to justify their dumb comments. Maybe just stretching to fill time since this is idiotic.
Landrus Brown both Rodgers and Brees are over praised
Silver Jaiden I see you're in the excuse making business.
Drew constantly gets disrespected...smh I thought they’d give him more credit disappointed in Shannon and Skip
This is straight up disrespect
Isaiah Williams Yeah, these two idiots are completely ignoring the fact that drew has had historically bad defenses that have let him down time after time. Brady and Peyton have had at least decent defenses throughout their careers. Drew has done everything in is his power to help his team win but since his defenses have always sucked, he only has one super bowl. Drew Brees might be he goat if he had half decent defenses during his career.

Skip is ridiculous. Drew has had the worst defense in the NFL during the past 7 years
Drew Brees YPA for the last 7 years is 7.93
Tom Brady YPA for the last 7 years is 7.47
We are not even going to get into the yards because Brees has blown him out the water with multiple 5k seasons.
FACTS!! Love this point I couldn't believe Shannon Cosigned this. SMH
pancho villa you really have no football knowledge lol the NFC has had better defenses then the AFC you need to do your research.
You can't compare Brady and Brees. Like they said sure he has a lot of yards but did that equate to wins and Super Bowls, No.
There has never been a more disrespected QB in the history of the NFL than Drew Brees. The man is a top 10, borderline top 5 if he gets another ring, QB and no one outside of New Orleans really acts like it. It's about time the man gets the respect he deserves. Talked about this on my channel today.
If drew had a consistently good defense or running game the saints would’ve made the playoffs at least 9 of the 12 years
Pj Simmons I’m not down playing his greatness. He is great. Yet both Brady and Peyton shared those intangibles and still won consistently
mrvizcarrondo I understand that but Brady plays for arguably the best coach of all time and has never really had a bad defense.
Kam exactly
Exactly ...that should be the end of the discussion but they wanna belittle him . But don’t one belittle Tom like that and he plays in this era too right 🤔
From the college of Purdue, to NFL greatness! Drew Brees is an all-time GREAT! RESPECT THAT MAN!!!
@Shawn Kemp dont you dare say peyton isnt good and brees great
@Shawn Kemp I think manning is better but I'm a denver fan
Brees and Rodgers will be held back for the rest of their career because of their own defense.
It's not about eras, it's not about baseball, it's not about rules. Is it so difficult to celebrate athletes without explaining away their successes? I enjoy Undisputed but daaammnn!
Its true that the rules matter. Montana gets the edge on Brady because of the way the game was played during his time.
see i'll disagree with that 5>4 and half of bradys teams didn't have more than 6 pro bowl players where montana had all team players
Secret Agent Randy Beans he doesn’t 🤷🏾♂️
Vinny You realize Drew Brees was playing with historically bad defenses right
If he was that GOAT QB, he would carry the defense and lead them to wins, like Tom Brady. NOTHING
Vinny I’m pretty sure top 15 defenses are good enough to win games with a great offense
This isn't Drew Brees era.. Hes 40 he was shredding fools before the NFL got soft..
Skip is so wrong by discrediting Drew for missing the playoffs multiple times. Football is a TEAM sport. It doesn’t matter how good your quarterback is, if your team isn’t very good, you won’t win anything period.
Jack S Great quarterbacks don’t miss the playoffs. Stop it.
If Drew was 6' 4" and played for the Cowboys, Skip would view him as the second coming of Football Christ.
again... it has nothing to do with the era.
OTKP yeah it feels like everyone can throw for 4000 yards and 25plus touchdowns that’s part of the reason why statistically in his mid 30s to early 40s Brady has gotten better, look what manning did his last mvp season that was partly due to the era he played in
No it's just more skilled QBs
The disrespect of drew brees is Just CRAZY
Drew Brees and Peyton Manning have to be the 2 Best statistical quarterbacks of ALL time. The only knock on them is that they have 3 combined super bowl wins and drew beat Peyton in a super bowl.
Yep. And both of them had the same problem. No defense LOL
@bdrmongoose78 that's only if you count his Broncos defenses. His Colts scoring defense average was horrible LOL
@@Bakuru if they had no defense, how did the saints hold the colts to 17 and end the game with a pick six?
Drew Brees is forever a legend, nobody can bring down his accomplishments and his legacy.
Amazing how they don't mention him having some of the worst defenses of all time playing a factor of him missing playoffs...Record breaking horrible...i remember one year the Saints offense averaged 35 pts but the defense gave up 38.
If this would be Rogers or Mahomes I guarantee Shannon would be salivating.
“Football records isn’t as sacred as baseball”
Lel
I mean he does have a point
He's not wrong
cmatthewb103 the steroid era totally tainted most of those “sacred” baseball records, unfortunately.
Who TF watches baseball?
Nobody even watches baseball lmaooo
Drew Brees is the 3rd or 4th best QB of his era. Hall Famer!! Most Accurate QB of his Era!!
Drew is so underrated. Such a great guy and an even better quarterback. And also shame on you both for disrespecting Drew like that.
About time you guys touched this topic!!!!
0 respect given smh
They're not accounting for the fact that saints defense was trash for almost all of those years, give Drew a top 10 defense and you have what happened in 2009
Brap Genius facts
Drew Brees is officially Sean Lee esque.
Mannnnn CONGRATS Drew Brees💯🙏🏿
5 of the 9 5k seasons... to no other QB ever getting more than 1
4 of the 9 70%+ seasons with no other QB getting more than 1
First QB with back to back 40 TD seasons. Brady has only 1 and that was with Moss
Fastest to 50k yards... 60k yards... 70k yards... in history
Fastest to 300 TD's... 400 td's... and soon to be 500 td's...
Most 4000 yard season in the same era as Brady, Rodgers, and Manning
Most consecutive 4000 yard seasons
Most 30 TD seasons in the Same era as Brady Rodgers and Manning
Most consecutive 30 TD seasons
Most consecutive 5000 yard seasons
Most times leading the nfl in Yards, Td's, comp %,
But the fact that he has 500 more attempts makes him less than everybody else, lol.?? No other QB has come close to Drew Brees. You can't take his abilities and accomplishments away with made up excuses why you don't like him. WTf does this man have to do. Play Cornerback???? Even in the era of lax rules, he went way above and beyond his peers... that's a condemnation of the other QB's not Brees.
Brees also has the highest passing percentage of all time and that makes him awe some because of all his passing attempts not less . Think about it. More attempts is harder to have a higher passing percentage. And he throws long passes too not just short dinks and dunks like Skip says.
He is one of the best straight up passers who always puts on a show. Lots of teams wish they could've given him a shot.
Is Brees The Best QB Under 6 FT Ever??
He's the best QB ever. End of sentence.
Whether you like it or not everyone felt that special moment for brees when he broke the record and he was being praised by his fam, teammates , and owner of the nfl
anyone seen DeMarvelous DeChosen since the Raptors got LeSwept? we may have to file a missing persons report.
Brees is and has always been elite...
Marcus Colton never made it to a pro bowl?
Naw. He got cheated out by T.O. one year. His numbers where alot better but T.O. got the go ahead. He was an alternate.. I think 2x
Colston was a great receiver plus he had Jimmy Graham in his prime!
@@koolkitties8552 by the time Jimmy hit his prime with us was like his last year. We just targeted him a lot because of his athleticism from basketball and height
I agree with the type of protection qbs get now. They put a lot on the defense to shoulder, which is why the scores are so high.
I Still Wanna Know What Has Aaron Rodgers Done That Drew Brees Hasn’t Already Accomplished? I Mean If He’s Better Than Drew Explain Why Because Both Got 1 Ring But Everything Else Drew Is Better In Soooo....🤷🏾♂️
aaron rodgers is a bit better w/advanced stats.
2 MVPs and carrying our team to the playoffs and also Sean Payton is the best offensive of all time
There has never been a more disrespected QB in the history of the NFL than Drew Brees. The man is a top 10, borderline top 5 if he gets another ring, QB and no one outside of New Orleans really acts like it. It's about time the man gets the respect he deserves. Talked about this on my channel today.
🐐
Drew Brees is top 2 all time
I Mean Shannon Right, NFL records For QB don't mean much anymore because the rules makes it so much easier for an Average QB to throw 3500 to 4000+ yards in a season
And for the record (pun intended) I'm not hating on Drew Brees new record, I just don't think it will last long
Only one 2 players have ever thrown for more than 5000 yards drew is one of them but hes done it 5 times
Now here’s a debate. Is he a top 5 QB ever?
I got him six on my list
Opinions. Totally depends
He's def top 5
In no order bc i think that's impossible so we'll do chronological
Unitas/Marino/Manning/Brady/Brees
Yes- Peyton , Marino, Montana , Brady , brees
No.
Justice for Brees!!! One of the best ever!!!
Now imagine if Tom played in a dome his whole career considering just how good he throws in bad weather too.......
Bruiser King imagine if drew played in the AFC east
Imagine if any other great QB played in the AFC east.
Well, Drew did play at Purdue in college, which gets bad weather just like New England, and he lit it up.
Umm didn’t manning play in a dome most of his career too?
Aaron Too
the disrespect drew gets is disgusting to watch
I disagree with Shannon Sharpe, numbers are greatly valued because of how tough and brutal the game of football is...
His point is that its not tough for QBs anymore. Which is why Joe Montanna id still the GOAT imo.
@@condorgaming4000 Montana? Yea, that's ur opinion? Lol.
@@qsplak he played football in a much tougher era for QBs. Has 4 superbowls with 0 losses. And has never thrown an INT in a superbowl. So yea its my opinion 🤷 like I said.
@@condorgaming4000 Yea THAT'S what makes him the greatest right? He's also played with 1 of the greatest WR's ever along with other good WR's, TE, RB & a good defense in that era! So yeah...it is ur opinion. Lol.
@@qsplak you act like jerry rice was some athletic freak. He ran like a 4.7 40. They made each other great. And go ahead and name the other receivers the TE and ppl on their defense since it was so great... They had deion for like 1 superbowl
Jerry rice td record 197 and emmit smith record is 18,355 rushing yards
Those matter
We need this fuel, keep it up media.
Light a 🔥 under my SAINTS. If Drew
wins the SB this year & repeats, then he is hands down the GOAT.
God bless drew! Good man
It’s not fair to compare Super Bowls and playoff appearances when comparing Drew Brees and Tom Brady because the patriots are in arguably the worst division in the nfl while the saints are in arguably the best division in the nfl.
Losing seasons were not his fault. The defenses were pathetic. Brees is top 5. Goat if he had bradys defenses
Drew is my all time favorite player and this hurts to watch
You can't blame Drew Brees for his 7-6 playoff record. The Saints have never really had a good defense until this last year.
Only Skip would compare Drew Brees to Eli Manning. This man is Senile.
Shannon stop hating on Drew Brees man he broke a record that only Peyton Manning and John Elway we’re able to accomplish cmon man admire his greatness
