    To me he's the best relief pitcher in baseball. As a Yankees fan he was the one I really wanted to keep.

    I think the thing that makes Miller truly great is his willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team. Some closers don't want to give up their spot and become stubborn and pissed, but Miller just wants to win baseball games.

    • @shadowheart52
      @shadowheart52 7 лет назад

      I think that has something to do with pay scale. Closers normally make a lot more than a setup man, but I think Miller proves your worth has much more to do with how you pitch compared to when.

    • @NomadicDuck
      @NomadicDuck 7 лет назад

      shadowheart52 I can agree completely with that. His mentality coupled with his ability make him one of if not the most elite closing pitchers in all of MLB.

    Release the Kraken! Fuse Kershaw and Chris Sale together, cut the stamina in half, and you get this narly 1st round pick that ended up proving the naysayers wrong when it didn't work out as a starter. Top 3 reliever with Jansen & Britton. Andrew Miller is what every reliever/closer should strive to be. Postseason for the ages!

    sucks that relief pitchers get such little love. This dude absolutely owned the late innings of 2013-2017. His career ERA is hurt by his 2-3 seasons as a starter which he was not good at. But when he switched to a reliever he was dominate.

  • @kevinmurray7793
    @kevinmurray7793 7 лет назад

    Definitely the best slider in MLB! For sure! Andrew Miller's slider is so good that he can use it as actually two different pitches. A hard slider that drives through the zone, kind of like a cutter, & the other is a slower looping slider that catches the outside corner of the plate. Throw in a 94-98mph fastball, and it's not hard to see why Miller -- along with: Zach Britton - "power" sinker & Kenley Jansen - "power" cutter -- are three of the very best relievers in the game today. When you have a special gift like these guys have, it is a truly magical thing to watch for fans. A horrific site of your on the other team.

    Andrew Miller almost single-handedly willed the Indians to the title in 2016. How do they waste that performance… They were up 3-1… Still feels like getting stabbed in the heart.

    • @kevinmurray7793
      @kevinmurray7793 7 лет назад +4

      Miller's slider if I had to pick just one of those. He can throw it hard and dive bomb and also slower with a looping hook. It's devastating! As are the other three guys pitches. However, I certainly wouldn't pick Chapman's fastball. Not after the 2016 World Series! Miller's slider anyway!

    2 full years left on his contract, dominant, certainly not old by any means (31 at the time of the trade), doesn't care what his role is, & can consistently get you more than 3 outs. If the prospects that the Yankees got for him don't pan out, this trade may turn out to be 1 of the biggest mistakes in their long history

      Plus the Indians had 1 starting pitcher all postseason long who was a starter all year. Kluber and the pen for the Tribe were completely taxed out... If the Indians had Brantley,, Carrassco, Salazar, that series is over in 5... Let alone adding Encarnacion to that mix..Good luck with that team next year.

    Learn how to throw it already. It's not hard to learn. Grab a ball, throw it like a football, stiff wrist, what's the problem? You throw it 85mph+ and have command, no biggie after that. I like throwing it over the top and get the DROP, you tube steve carlton slider montage. That's a DROP. Miller needs to be able to come over the top when his isn't working like in game 7. I'm on facebook, type in....slider slider
