    Colombia is the cheapest place to retire and it's next to the United States. You don't have to move across the globe to Thailand or India in order to largely. If your social security is $500, there's no way you can live properly with that in the United States or even Europe. The cost of living in Colombia is very low though and that $500 is enough to rent you a big house, cover all your monthly expenses and have some left to save. If you're retired or will retire soon, moving to Colombia as a retiree is an amazing opportunity in my opinion. Other than the cost of living, the weather and people are also great and you'll be having a great time if moving abroad is not something that scares you. Let me know what you think of this beautiful home and living or retiring in Colombia as a US expat down in the comment.

    now I noticed Maria in the background even though sounds very informal conversation she is actually asking key questions and doing the proper talk the colombian way, Ya'll need somebody like Maria who knows how to talk the talk otherwise you will get "gringo priced" never ever accept the asking prices ever, always make a counteroffer period. (that's the colombian way and is part of the culture and traditions)

    I agree with Daniel the undivided. Interest scares me. Good price. I’m working on my migration papers and am looking for something similar. A Gentleman’s farm, remote but not to remote. Keep showing these places. Thank you

    When you talk about your houses, talk about the charm, bricks, wood, anything that describes the uniqueness of the architecture.

    $45,000 US is not a bad deal but you can get it cheaper because it's not finished and needs water source

      What's prettier, the Chicamocha Valley area with the towns you mentioned or the Pereira, Armenia, Ibague area in the coffee region of Colombia?

      @@danielarevalo7013 Thanks for your reply, can you go into a little more detail about what the food and the whether are like and how it differs from the coffee region?

    • @danielarevalo7013
      @danielarevalo7013 Год назад +1

      @@hoppeanofasgard1365 Sure. Once in Bucaramanga which is the capital city you'll notice that its warmer than Bogota or Medellin but not as hot as the Caribbean cities. The weather is similar to Ibague. The locals, who are vey nice, are given to small talk so learning a bit of survival Spanish to practice hearing yourself and others will push to hear and speak when it comes to ordering food, or asking ,reading what's on a menu at a inexpensive restaurant. Buses are the way to get around and people do want to help you There's is great Wi Fi coverage and Google translate is a must and Google Maps to get around. Have a look at the food and see if it agrees with your stomach. I found the coffee region a bit dull but once again these were my individual encounters and who I was with but I wouldn't discourage someone from going and coming up with their own impressions. Barichara is similar to Villa de Leyva meaning they are the 2 best 500 year old ,well kept towns with the architecture and the charm of that era. At San Gil ,you would find that there are a lot of businesses along the road offering walking tours,mountain climbing, parapenting,white water rafting.My favorite place to visit is a river called "Pescaderito" 10 minutes outside of Curiti.Hope this helped .Coffee region landscape can be found all over as the country is breathtaking once you've left the capitals.

    Geno , can you make a video on the requirements for a pensionado visa? I understand that under that visa a person cannot longer be part of EPS so how much would it be to get private insurance? What about the criminal background, is the an FBI report or local police report for the last 3 years...is it easier tonget that visa in Bogota or thru a Colombian embassy in the US? Thanks
