I was the same way! I felt so protective of Darrow, Sevro, Mustang, Victra, and the others, and it was hard to read these new characters judging their actions.
Love this collab video! I loved Iron Gold! I did have a hard time getting into it with all the characters and multiple POVs but really ended up loving it.
I finally caught up! This is my first time reading the series, and this one is already my favorite. I was expecting something a lot slower, but so much happened here it’s kind of mind blowing! It might have felt different if I had to wait in between installments, but this felt like a perfect continuation of the series. I couldn’t believe how many bad decisions Darrow made in this. Every time one of his POV chapters would come up, I just knew he was going to get himself into some bullshit lol. So hyped to start Dark Age, and can’t wait to join the next spoiler talk!
It was so nice hearing this discussion! I just got done with Iron Gold and am 58 pages into Dark Age and some of the conversations here just reminds of what happened!
I have to disagree with the Lyria narrator opinion around 12:30. Maybe on the whole I can agree, but at the very least the chapter after the destruction of the her camp I felt the narrator put the right emphasis on emotion that it actually made me more emotionally invested in the character than I otherwise would have if I read it myself.
Pierce did a great job making the reader want to know more info like with the heist. We heard it was the biggest heist and could guess and didn’t know what it was until much later. Not many authors have the balls to not tell us and keep us dying to know ahah I like how Darrow met seraphina 10 years prior. I went back and reread that part while reading this book Loved loved the tension with the raa family. The sequence where they remove Cassius’ disguise into the fight and the fallout was amazing
Getting through the Red Rising Saga slowly and these videos are always a joy to watch when I've finished a book and need to summarise my thoughts. Thank you! Personally, I read Iron Gold and loved it. Lysander is a personal favourite of mine, not because I like him but because he's always so close to understanding why the Society sucks and then something happens to drop him right back into the delusion. It's great work by Brown. I also really enjoyed Lyria. Again, I don't like her but she is interesting as a reflection of Darrow if he never got the opportunity to infiltrate the Society. All that rage goes nowhere and just hurts people and she's nowhere near as intuitively clever as Darrow. Also, I thought Pax was like 14 when I read the book. When I learned he was 10, Lyria yelling at him, whilst understandable, is pretty scummy. She's so wrapped up in her hatred and fear that she sees Pax for the image she's made of him - this holier-than-thou, arrogant person - as opposed to what he actually is, a bit of a sheltered kid who asked a bit of a stupid question.
At the end of morning star Octavia calls for daxo to join them in the cave.. does this mean anything bc I've been waiting for that plot twist. Just finished iron gold
i love all the books but as far as ranking goes, Dark Age is definitely my favorite and I really love the first book, Morning Star for some reason always takes me longer then the others to get through

I like lysander
The one thing the new voice actor that bothers me is when he calls him Cashus instead of Cassius…
