I’m so excited that I finally took the plunge into this series. I really enjoyed Red Rising and if it’s the weakest in series then this is going to be a hell of a ride.
Just finished the first book and thought it was great! I’m really excited that I have so many books I can blow through now!
Mike I just finished Golden Son and it has left me with a profound grief. This isn't a feelgood trek through the wetlands anymore man I'm on Mars now and Mars is crushing me
I have to say "Thank you" this is now one of my favorite book it hit just right.. cant wait for the next books.
Can’t believe I put this book off for so long. When you started talking about a reread I figured I had to see what all the excitement was about. It swept me away! I finished book one in a few days and I’m already half way into book two! Definitely having a lot of fun with this series
Let’s gooooo. Just finished book one been looking forward to hearing your guys spoiler talk
You are the single reason I read this book, so thank you Mike! I enjoyed it a lot and look very much forward to the rest of the series 😊
Got to watch this video finally
I had purchased Red Rising last year based on your recommendation, finally started it last week and finished it today. This was really good I couldn’t put it down. The world Pierce Brown created is unique and well thought out. I can’t wait to start book 2.
Man, this is great. Just finished Red Rising in a week and am onto Golden Son -- about 60 pages deep. Looking forward to the next conversation once I'm done.
Fun discussion on this first book! Its tough to discuss without going into the details of the entire triology/series but yall did a good job going through different parts and staying on topic for the most part! looking forward to more
Big Guns! Light sabers! Infiltration! Body Mods! Artist! Enders Game! Big heavy big! Love Triangle. Mining!!! Deconstruction! Eating people! Even their legs! Let’s Goooooooo.
Hey Mike just finished up red rising it was kind of a struggle because the tone and pacing were jarringly different from WoT, but the latter half of the book got me hooked. Just picked up Golden Son
Edit: PAX AU TELEMANUS
First read for me and thoroughly enjoying it, can't wait to see where the series goes from here
I was so excited for this that I considered staying up until 2AM to watch it but I couldn’t do it. I’m here now 😉
I've only gotten through the first couple of sections, but I will jump in with the Howler Pod folks and recommend Andor. I got Disney+ for a month just so my wife could watch some movie thing but decided to try out Andor while I had it. It blew me away! I tried to watch Obi Wan and the difference in quality and tone is insane. I didn't make it through but a couple of episodes. Obviously, season 2 isn't going to happen for over a year, so there's no rush to watch it.
This got me excited! I had to start book two a few days early!
Picked up this series after reading The Expanse. I nearly stopped at the first book just because Ive never been a fan of the Hunger Games theme. I was told to stick with it and glad I did! Golden Son and Rising Star was absolutely amazing. Reading Iron Gold right now. It definitely it harder to get into but still enjoying the new POV's. I've heard the most recent book is the best and can't wait to get to it.
Enjoyed this video a lot though. I almost need to re-read the first book at this point since I didn't pay full attention to a few parts in it. Was looking for a recap/discussion and really enjoyed this talk. Going to check out the next two discussions here soon.
I’m on the second book already lol
I had a very different reaction than you Mike. I thought book 1 was pretty fun but nothing too special. Definitely good enough to read book 2, which I found really boring with a few really good moments. I'm only about 15% into book 3, but it's by far the best one so far
Tim Gerard Reynolds is most definitely Irish
I enjoyed the talk but I haven’t started the second series yet so I’m afraid that I can’t continue with the talks in the future. You tried to stay spoiler free but too many times you’re throwing stuff out there about future books that I need to stay away till I’m caught up. Enjoyed the banter though.
Just finished red rising and came here to see other discuss it. Love these video but the girl needs to chill on the spoilers. Stuff like mentioning who will still be around in other books I was like 😐
I’m not sure I fully understand what is going on I’m not sure about carrying on
