Although the game today is mostly associated with black Americans, the origin is Chinese, brought to the U.S. by immigrant rail workers in the 19th Century. The name, Cee-lo, comes from si-wu-liu (Mandarin) or sei-ng-luk (Cantonese), meaning 4-5-6.
Nice video Chris exactly how we play it but we take turns and don't have a banker. Easy game for all the family to play. Having a phone safe helps ha keep the Bambino off there phones.....
Agreed, a very fun and quick game with a bit more room for additional rules and side bets. As simple as Ship Captain Crew, but with more expansion imo. I also fully agree that screens have no place during game time!
That's a very important game indeed. I've been reaching out to board makers for the more traditional games to feature their craftsmanship and play older games with high quality boards. I'm beginning with Cribbage. I haven't found a good Ludo or Parcheesi board maker, but I'll start looking.
yes the play diffrently part, the part where skill is involved . . . i played video games with this game and in it they use a bowl and you get 3 chances to roll a set and you have to keep it in the bowl for if they fall out its sloppy dye and you loose one of you 3 rolls . . . the skill comes with the venese in the wrist when droping the dye in the bowl cant be too aggressive . . . . BUT! THATS EXACTLY why im commenting do you have any outstanding suggestions for bowls/tea cups/tea pot lids that i could use for the game? i intend to use it as a form of raffle.
Wow I’ve never played it that way, sounds really interesting and yes I suppose it would add some skill. I’d just experiment until you find something you think is fair and also allows for some skill/risk. LMK what you settle on. Thanks for the comment.
@@Play-In-Games ya i haven't played it myself that way yet but looking for a good bowl is hard alot of material is too load in alot of the tea cups BUT i have tried cup that came with a shaving kit for the shaving cream, i tried a muttling kit for grinding herbs and then the dice didn't bounce enough so sloppy dye isn't a real possability, and i tired 2 other tea cups but one was too load and the other the cup was too small . . . thats why im thinking to move towards tea pot lids one that i can flip over and that should be efficient amount of surface area to play with, im hoping the lid being a big piece will keep it from being too load but i think thats where the bip bop boopity bang pow is.
A fan of the Yakuza series, I see. As for a bowl, you might want to check out your local H-Mart or other Asian grocery. They will usually sell Asian dinning ware and kitchen ware (chopsticks, woks, &c.), including bowls. The bowls used for soup would work for what you are looking for. As for teacups, look in the same store; they are commonly either really small (like one sees in Chinese restaurants) or around 6-8 oz with a lid. You could then put the dice in the cup, put the lid on and shake it while holding the lid to the cup, then roll out of the cup. Alternatively, you could buy a dice cup from a local boardgame store or one of those online stores that sell tabletop games, RPG's, miniatures, or CCG's. If you use the small teacup, you could use one of those small plates that you find in pho or sushi restaurants and as lid, then after shaking, put it down on the plate and lift off the cup. An example of this can be seen in the beginning of the Chinese film "To Live," directed by Zhang Yimou. The film is available on OOP DVD and can be found on Amazon or eBay for a prince anywhere between reasonable and a ridiculously expensive. Naturally, what will work for you will depend on the size of the dice you use. For what you want, I would suggest the 12mm size. Also, if you want that Yakuza feel, try getting some Chinese dice (with the big red "1" and red "4"); search for "Chinese dice" or "mahjong dice" on Amazon or eBay.
You're not wrong. Nonetheless it's an enduring classic with so much folk history. In many ways it's a carry over of a duel with slightly more 50/50 odds (only if everyone is playing fairly!).
Ask nicely or support the channel's hard work and maybe all your grammar dreams will come true, other wise you're kinda just looking a gift horse in the mouth 😂
Nah nah nah bro Bank start wit however much you wanna put up If bank start at $100 and there's 5 rollers then each could stop $20....or 1 roller could stop $80 then its $20 left.....the 4 other rollers could get $5 each or even 1 other roller stop the rest of the bank at $20......if there's $100 and 5 rollers they could stop as little as $1 out the bank....in that case it would be $95 left. Now this is extremely important because if there's enough in the bank a roller would get double when they hit CEELO &&& they would get the option to start the bank or sell it to the next roller. NOW CEELO IS THE ONLY TIME THE BANK CAN STEP OFF WITH THE BAG....DOESN’T MATTER IF BANK OR ROLLER HITS CEELO And if it aint enough in the bank roller cant get paid double but does get the bank....if out of $100 all rollers stop $20 bank is stopped so not enough for double. If 5 rollers stop $15 each out the $100 it would be $75 total with $25 remaining....if any roller hit CEELO they get $30 which is double their initial $15 bet

Hey Chris! Great video as always! I’d love it if you could make a video on the game Ludo sometime.

So if the first player roll a 1 2 3 or 4 5 6 , the rest of the players dont get the chance to roll the dices ??
Correct those are instant lose and win rolls for the shooter
Thank you! 🤙
I love dice games, and you made a great clear video, but I can’t shake the feeling that this game is really dumb.

For hustlers
I played this like 14 years ago with coworkers and I totally forgot the rules I make alot of money tho 😂
👌 best way to play, retire on a win!
C lo works great as a drinking game 🍺🍷
I see you driving 'round town with the girl I love
Yeah, I’m sorry I can’t afford a Ferrari 🏎️
Needs to fix some typos on the score guide.
