Brilliant research. Thank you profoundly Jamaican Chapter. I have always wanted to find out what happened to the cast of this brilliant movie after its resounding success after its 1972 release. Considering the amount of research and work you are putting in your RUclips channel you should by now be clocking over a 100 000 subscribers of lovers of serious content but anyway I know you will soon get there.

Now the preacher you see preaching in this scene from The harder they come......... He also died he was actually the pastor of that particular apostolic Church here in Jamaica.
Hello, Adrian, thanks for watching. I did find out his name, which is Bishop Luther Martin Allison. He died in about 2008. But I decided not to re-edit the video.
Mi tink sa a Danny Glover.
Thank you so much for sharing this!!

So much history. Thank you my friend.
Do the movie rockers next please.am invested
Excellent research 👏 👏 I watched this iconic movie the first time in 2021 and it accurate portrayal of the divide Jamaica the haves and the have nots 🤔 great movie Jimmy Cliff 🔥⭐️⭐️🔥
It's rarely mentioned that this movie features cameos by notable figures like Duke Reid, Joe Gibbs, Prince Buster, and Carlton Lee (who is often mistakenly confused with Leslie Kong), among others.
I enjoyed thanks for sharing
This soundtrack was my introduction to reggae back in 74 and it's still one of the greatest genres of music out there!
Intresting.thank you.
I love this movie lol … Good 1
I didn’t know it was so long wow
Would love to know what happened to the entire cast of Smile Orange.
Yes can u do the classic movie the rockers 🇧🇴
Good job boo
Ed Lewis (photographer) and Aston Winter (drunk man) were Bim and Bam - a famous double act. They were very accomplished comedians and showmen in Jamaica from the 1930's until 1976
Yes, indeed
Thank you for sharing this information sir
Thank you this was wonderful
My dad played a roll in this movie as a child
what role
It is also important to know that the reason why Leslie Kong died in 1971 was because he and Bob Marley and the wailers had a dispute over the release of an album entitled Best of The wailers this may Bob Marley and Bunny wailer very angry and there was an argument between Bob and Leslie Kong whereupon Bob wished occurs upon Leslie Kong and he died of heart failure shortly afterwards. No Leslie come previously had no trace of heart failure issues before this incident and that was how he died this was in 1971.
Interesting piece of data. Appreciate it.
Mr. Salmon, The preacher at the end of the video is Bishop Luther Martin Allison. He died in 2007.
Belated Christmas greetings to you , thank you for the historical information it's educational and informative thank you very very much.
Please be safe and have a happy new year when it comes God's willing.
Thank you
People still say flim in Jamaica..intelligent people 2..
Is there any place that one can get hold of the original 197 UNCUT version? All o the versions that I see for sale have many minutes cut from them
Unnamed preacher is bishop Luther Martin Allison he died In the early 2000s in his 90s
The church choir that Ivan is on is born again apostolic bishop Allison
Elijah Chambers, Longa, died in 1990's he lived on Brentford Road now Studio One Blvd.
Thanks for this info, Wayne. Appreciate it.
He was founder of: Bethel Born Again Apostolic Church, located at 3-5 Oakland Road in Kingston Jamaica.
Yes, indeed. I found out after publishing this video.
Carlton Lee was a Recording Engineer while Leslie Kong was a music producer who passed away in 1971. The person appearing in the movie is not Leslie Kong; it's Carlton Lee portraying him.
I was corrected on this some time ago. I will edit out the error soon. Thanks for the clarification
How you never feature Bobby Lobban the man in photo graph shop with the photographer whom was congratulate Ivan and asking for his authorgraph. He died a few years ago
Thanks for this interesting info. Many of the individuals who appeared in the film were not credited (named among the cast) so it was difficult to find all of them.
BOBBY LOBAN I SAW MANY TIMES AT SABINA PARK..A VERY COLOURFUL CHARACTER..WAS PASSIONATE ABOUT CRICKET ESPECIALLY LAWRENCE YAGA ROWE
@@donnavanlakeman9294Bobby Lobban they used to call him the walking enclopedia for his knowledge of soccer, cricket and track and field
Bro too bad for those who don't understand your dialogue, start using 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, you got to start saying someone died on the 23rd not 23 Twenty three Don't water down ur thing love this review.
Jamaica doesn't really use 1st 2nd and 3rd like that. We say the number. Like May fifteen instead of 15th. It's obvious that the man is trying.
Where are the maytals?
You did your best
The young boy who played Pedro's son,is actually Ras Daniel Hartman's son in real life.
Very interesting. I never discovered that during the research.
His name is Man i
@@JamaicanChapter
Mr chapter Carl Lesley is living on chesolm AVE he is my friend
A lot of unknown people. Should of been in the credits
Leslie Seymour bishop Allison said he wasn't told the exact truth of the making of the film nor was any money paid to him I asked him personally of his involvement as was a baptized member of the said church
👍👍👍
The pronunciation is film....not flim. CHO!
Lol. For some reason, my lips are unable to say it that way.
@@JamaicanChapter Don't fret!...Most unno pronounce it dat way. 🤣
@@JamaicanChapter Practice by pronuouncing the world "fill" then add the sound "mmmm".
Fill+mmm = Filmmmm
@@ColtanFree Thanks. Your instruction got me saying it.
...how allyuh nuh know dat "fLim is Jamaican for "fiLm"????
...allyuh too ignorant...
😂😂😂😂
FILM not FLIM
Go sit down.
Oh stop it.
Stop doing this if you don't know what you are doing you keep calling Carlton Lee Leslie Kong. Misinformation.
Leave the man alone. He is doing what he can .for sure he will get better.
For many years i thought it was Leslie Kong as well. You can correct the person but don't discourage him.
@@kfreckle5453 So the producer was Carlton Lee and not the famous Leslie Kong? I understand the Kongs were a Chinese Jamaican business family of repute and Leslie had an older sibbling who was made famous by Toots Hibbert's hit song The Monkey Man..
@ColtanFree, Cho man 😀
Quite informative and educational. Hyacinth Clover and Ed Lewis had a chart topping single with "I Would Like You and My Sweetheart to be Friends" Also, Beverly Anderson became first Lady of Jamaica after marrying PM Michael Manley. Don't you think you're too intelligent to be unable to pronounce the word "film"?
You ungrateful hater from you so clever why you never come and do it
Yes - Edward "Bim" Lewis
