A comment about overheating, I had it really bad on my A7Cii, so much so that I returned it for the A7CR, which some legend on Reddit mentioned it was way better with this issue. Ever since, I've recorded almost hundreds of hours of 4k 60fps footage (I also had a 13 hour long session once) and have not had a single issue with overheating, haven't even seen the temperature icon yet.
@@rasyadhiarrachman5209 Mine overheated just before the one hour mark at 4k 60fps, 4:2:2 10bit, max bitrate. roughly 49 minutes, and thats with the auto shut off temp on high.
An addendum. Your memory card will dictate which formats you can record in. 60 at intra as well as at least some of the S&Q modes will ask for v90 or even a well rated CF Express card. Also, Phantom Gang. Great luts for most matters.
Hey Dylan, I love the colors you are getting in these videos! Can you say a bit about your color grading workflow? Is this all done in Resolve? Would be great if you could make a video about this.

Maybe one day! At the moment I don’t have interest in making videos about making videos and just want to focus on photography. A lot of the ways I do things on the video side are not “by the book” and don’t want to have elitists tell me I’m doing something “wrong”. Actually the more I type this comment... the more I kinda do want to make a video about my video workflow haha
Yea, it's okay. I have been using this camera for a while. I still haven't gotten into making videos yet. At least one simple video on reels is what I aim for. I dont know how to use the log feature and i am learning how to use davinci 🤣
no word about settings like ISO (Auto or fixed at the base iso)and record mode (A, S, M)? 60fps footage is not different to grade. Why it should? ....because a bit lower bitrate per single picture?
I might be mistaken, but I don't think that active steady shot works when crop-mode is enabled. Also, I'd like to hear your opinion on the A7CR video quality. Since it's got the high mp sensor, all video is pixel binned. I found the video very soft (personally too soft for my taste). I use Phantom luts too!
Honestly I don’t find it to be a problem at all. People are way too nitpicky. I use a mist filter for all of my filming because I dislike how sharp the FX3 is. But at the same time I feel like anyone who buys the A7CR for shooting video should have just bought an A7CII
If you’re not using official Sony batteries then the percentage typically won’t appear. Not sure if that applies to all but it does to most. It sucks but that’s just the way it is
When I click the boxes for different settings for video, I like to use wide focus for video and expand for stills but when I change the focuses it changes for both photo and video do you know how to fix ?
@@DylanBlackburnjust figured out it can only shoot 30fps in H264 but not at H265. But 60fps is available in both H264 and H265.. which is a bit strange.

Hi my a7cii setting dont have 60fp max is 50fp why?
i have also a7cii camera. Same fps
60p is only available in NTSC - you’re probably in PAL. You can switch it in the Setup menu.
Why my camera won't allow me to shoot 4K on V60 memory card? checking online V60 for 4K V90 for 8K.

thought apsc crop indeed had loss in video quality of about 1/3rd as it's digitally zoomed, not optical

I shoot 800 iso during day for log but what’s a good iso for night? I think native is 800 iso correct?
If you have the A7CII then 3200 ISO would be best for night

When you’re shooting stills do you keep it on M dial or can save your still settings to a custom number dial too

You should be able to shoot 30 FPS. I don’t have an A7CII but every Sony camera can record in 30 FPS
