The first full ranking I ever uploaded here. Quite special, don't you think? :D
This was my biggest Sony Vegas project ever and the longest video that I've ever done. I started it in May and edited it on and off for one month. Uploading here took like 3 hours.
Anyway, this my ranking of Elsa's voices. Elsa is my favorite Disney character ever and therefore really important.
As you see, I didn't use numbers at all in this video. It's divided into categories and I've explained them all separately.
This is also kind of my 3800 subscriber special for you :)
This time I took a risk and didn't change the pitch but I did mirror the video clips just in case.
I only included the 40 official voices of Elsa.
I was like "Really? she forgot the best one? -.-" and then BAM new section, "Willemijn Verkaik" :D nice one

OMG! So happy to see someone who agrees that Hungarian Elsa is super fitting!!!! To me Hungarian Elsa is the most fitting voice for Elsa, I love her so much! ♥ I love the fact that you made this into categories, like I did too, this way is so much easier and truth to one's opinion since many versions are really at the same level :)
We share many favorites: Malay, Hungarian, Serbian, Swedish, Italian, Danish and of course Dutch/German! ;)
I'm quite used to mature voices for Elsa (like Finnish since I've watched it the most) but if I really think of a fitting voice, it's Hungarian :) And yeah, categories are easier! I have these in an order but many of them really are on the same page. Those voices are amazing!

I was so happy when I saw that the German / Dutch version is your favorite! I am from Germany and was very surprised that finally someone really loves the version without coming from Germany or dutch!

You were very lucky! I've been wishing to go watch Wicked and meet Willemijn for some time now. Her voice is simply overwhelming and she seems to be an amazing person. For me, she is the best Elsa AND Elphaba.

I myself am Dutch and I learn German at school, but most people who like Dutch & German are from the Netherlands & Germany but I guess there are exceptions ;)!
I'm from Finland and I love German :D I can speak it to some extent and also understand some Dutch :) and I love Willemijn to death
I love the Swedish version and I'm really glad you put it so high up, granted I am from Sweden but I just think that her clear and powerful voice fits Elsa. Other than that I also like the English and Japanese versions, I like the Finnish voice also but the language throws me off a bit since it's pretty far from my usual, though I study Japanese and my dad and I always say it sounds a bit like a mix of Finnish and Spanish :)
Anyway, I really like your ranking system.
As a Dane, I agree with Maria Lucia. She has a beautiful voice. You should hear her sing the Danish version of "On my own" from Les Miz. She's going to be Belle in the stage Musical of "Beauty and the Beast" this fall. Wish I could afford going and see her live :P
She actually started her carreer in a TV talentshow a decade ago. Some people actually do go very far, with starting their carreer like this.

Willemijn is so good.I like her more in German.
I prefer Will in German, but still my fav Elsa either way. And don't get me started on her Elphaba. She's too amazing, I'm addicted to her voice and personality! There's nothing fake about her, she seems so sweet and down to earth! Would love to meet her someday!😍😍

About Ukrainian. She sounds aggressive because she sings folk songs well and Olga Shanis just sang as usual. I was really pleasantly surprised to see Anna Buturlina in category "so great". Of course I really enjoyed by her voice, but... You know, it's difficult to make an objective assessment because this is my language. Thank you

Mirka Karoliina Oh so beautiful! But, Finnish is somehow "similar" ( not really similar, but from the same language group with Hungarian ). Tho, they are SOOOO different! That sounds so cool! Good luck with that
Yes, I've done a lot of research :D Our grammars are similar and there are also some old words that are similar like käsi = kéz :)
But yeah, that would be so cool!
Mirka Karoliina Wow that is so cool! However, Finnish sounds so MORE harder than HU ( well Hungarian is also hard ). But finnish sounds so cool and unique and interesting. And at university will you be studying bothing languages, or something like evolution of both languages? Or history of them?
I don't know yet.. I still have one year of upper secondary school left and I will then see what I will do. That is still my "goal" at the moment. You can study all those things in Helsinki University but I don't even know if I will get in :D

I almost wanted to comment that you forgot one but then she was there! Though she is from the Netherlands, I like her better when singing the German version though. Maybe because she was Elphaba when I went to wicked :) But then... I've got the German Wicked cast album and there she's Elphaba too xD Maybe it's just because I'm Dutch myself and I simply love other languages more than my own
I'm sneaky :P Lol, I can speak German but I prefer her Dutch one because of her performance. I saw her in London with a British accent and I think she nailed that :D

As a half German, half Dutch person, I am so proud and joyful that Willemijn is your favourite. She's my role model when it comes to professional singing. I fell in love with her voice the first few notes I ever heard. And she even does both the German and Dutch version of Elsa. You can't imagine how happy I was!
I loved that you explained your choices of singers, it's still a list of personal preferance and you even gave people the reasons; but someone will always feel insulted or offended, so try tnot to mind the, perhaps, hateful comments.

I like around half of the ones in your LOVE section. Malay, Swedish, Italian, Danish and German/Dutch are just works of art. I also like Hungarian and Korean high up, but they're not at the same level for me. But, great ranking anyway.
For me, the finnish is the perfect Elsa. This character has to be nordic, and I personnally love finnish language, but anyway, finnish suits so well with the character, her power, her land, the song and the singer is great.
I'm hungarian, and my favourite version the hungarian :D I love it :) And the hungarian isn't ugly language :D This is a very nice language...
Patrick McCarron, your comment cannot be answered but Gisela sang in both of those languages and this top is about singers, not languages.
I like high and powerful versions like ukranian , German Icelandic and Latin!
You should see Classical Latin her voice is both haunting and powerful!

I agree Annika's Swedish performance is "too perfect". So shouldn't that make her #1?
In this case "too perfect" is a bit negative for me. Sometimes I get the feeling that she's just singing the song perfectly and thus not being "the" Elsa for me.

For Czech, the clipped pronunciation clashes with song dubbing a lot and I think they should have worded it so it didn't

I don't know exactly how it started but I got interested in the similarities of Finnish and Hungarian and other Finno-Ugric languages when I was about 12 and since then I've been loving them :D

Thank you for putting Idina so high! A lot of people don't like her, I don't understand. I think she deserves a little more credit than all the other singers. I mean, she brought Elsa to life and had no one to look up to. I adore her so much. And Willemijn is from my country! She's a real queen, isn't she? I love her voice so much!
You clearly put a lot of time and effort into this, and it shows. I love how a lot of the instrumental parts just flow right into the lyric dubs; just flawless! I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a little emotional during your final Willemijn Verkaik tribute; though I love her Dutch, her German version is my favorite Let It Go dub period, and seeing her onstage in New York as Elphaba in Wicked left me with the most elated feeling ever in my life. Long story short: love your videos, and Willemijn Verkaik, and Elsa/Frozen/Let It Go, so keep up the good work! I had a good feeling when I subscribed having watched your multi language mashups daily.

Hej, I agree 100% with your opinion on the Czech version. Monika Absolonova HAS an annoying singing style :D and the text is not very well translated either. I really don´t understand why Monika was chosen to sing this song.

I would rank the original English and French versions tied for the top. For me, French versions of Disney songs usually win by default due to the inherent beauty and harmony of the French language. However the incredible power of Idina Menzel's voice places the original in equal par with the French (been a fan of Idina since Rent and Wicked).
This is based on only the singer's voice, not language and French singer is not my favorite.

Finally a ranking I can relate to! Only I would have put the Greek version in the last category. And I prefer Willemijns Dutch version too. The only bad thing about the Dutch version is that she tries too hard to pronounce everything perfect, which make the language sound hard. But I love her anyway

Hello your video is so good :) I like German/Duth version she has a very nice voice but she isn´t my favourite. My favourites are castlian (it¨s normal I´m from Spain :3) and Japonese (normal too I´m a little otaku :3) And I´m happy that you like that versions :))) I like your video because you didn´t put numbers and that is nice and different and I love Elsa too ;)

Slovak is sometimes appreciated the most and sometimes it falls on the last positions, and I don't know why. I think Slovakia did really great in Frozen.

I agree with Brazilian Portuguese and Lithuanian. I also agree with the 'love' ones. and Willemijn Verkaik sounds great in both German and Dutch, but I do like her Dutch version better as well. Maybe she sounds a little bit better because Dutch is her native language? anyway, nice video :)

Love this video! Discovered some new versions thanks to this and your analysis was really spot on. I would put french higher because I adore the poetry of the words translated back to english and her voice as well as a personal favorite version, but you really pointed to all the best ones. Serbia and Sweden were my favorites before but really that Danish version though... man. So good.
To be hones, you can't criticize Norwegian cuz Elsa's Norwegian.

The entire video I was waiting for Willemijn's judgement and then whole new section dedicated to her. AWESOME! I'm Belgian and I heard the flemish dub and whilst I prefer the flemish one in terms of transation I just gotta hand it to Willemijn as my favourite Elsa of all even topping Idina.
