Really surprising how a holster company is doing some of the best technical testing as well as destruction tests of weapon lights I’ve ever seen in any other company.

Again… another great weapon light evaluation!!! I run Streamlights exclusively and I have had good success with them all for 5+ years. Some have taken a tumble onto the ground before and worked just fine after each instance. I’m glad someone is out here testing all these lights and destroying them for the masses so we don’t have to destroy ours and pay to replace them 👍🏼

When you consider price I would say that Streamlight is a seriously solid choice. I was a surefire guy originally, but over the years I have fallen in love with Streamlight. I choose to trust my life to them. I have the TLR-7 sub on my CCW handgun, the TLR-1 HL on my favorite full size handgun, and the ProTac on a rifle. It's not a matter of price for me either, I have surefire lights and a Modlite PLHv2. Streamlight won me over regardless of price.

I agree. After watching their previous torture video on pistol lights and now this one, I'm amazed at how well the Streamlights hang with lights that are two or three times the price and are considered the toughest lights out there. For the price, they are amazing lights that can stand toe to toe with the best lights out there. I run a TLR-1 HL on my pistol and a RM@ on my rifle and they have been great. No problems with them at all.

The great thing about streamlight also is their lifetime warranty. I have a 14 year old protac hlx that went out on me. Sent it to them for warranty work and they replaced all the internals free of charge. Now I have a brand new 14 year old light again

I’m pretty much a cloud defensive guy and have the Rein 1, 2 and 3.0’s.
That battery flicker can likely be eliminated if you tighten the battery jack down inside of the light body.

    • @gob7116
      @gob7116 8 месяцев назад +4

+1, I notice that rein 3s need to be torqued tight otherwise they flicker. Other than that, I’d say they work as intended. I’m assuming it loosened up during the durability test. Being that it can be fixed by just tightening it down, it means there’s no catastrophic failure.

    • @WerkzHolsters

It’s comments like yours that discourages some RUclipsrs from making further videos especially if their family is involved:ie insulted. Many RUclipsrs I have watched over the years have admitted that much. You could have made your suggestion without being so rude and attacking the people that put so much money and effort into bringing you these videos. I also don’t get your flannel reference…? If you are insinuating I’m some uptight stiff, no I’m not. You need to get a clue and look at the like ratio between my comment and your and then realize it’s YOU that is the problem.

To your point of people not making content because people are “mean” to them then don’t make content, especially if they are going to involve their family. And the flannel reference is to the guy who you are assuming is the son. I am saying you have the hardest of hard on’s defending that guy, like an overbearing mother would defend their son. So, the real takeaway here is that the 'premium' branded lights don't offer anything substantial over the 'budget' lights in terms of durability. Not really surprising to anyone whose run all of these lights on various platforms. My only concern is recoil vibration from heavier caliber setups, like a SCAR 17. That was the only reason I sent with a Cloud Rein 3....otherwise, I've been pleased with Streamlight and Olight.
Suggestion for the future: Flashlights that are not specifically marketed to the WML crowd (like Acebeam, Convoy, Wurkkos, etc) but who have outstanding light properties. I've often wondered if they would hold up mounted to a rifle.....

I know a not-insignificant amount of forum members that swear by them as rifle lights, especially Convoy with the C8 and C8+ and the Sofirn SP35, and part of PFlexPro's business is re-driving and potting Convoys for tactical and WML purposes.

They did drop tests and ran them over but both survived everything till their last test when they dropped a cinder block on them. Scout died on the first one I think, but the Owl they had to resort to throwing the cinder block at over 30 times to smuch the bezzel shut and the led would still turn on. My take-away from this when deciding on a WML for my AR is that all my likely contenders (Surefire Turbo, Modlite OKW, Cloud REIN 3.0) are all more than tough enough for my intended uses. So, I can focus on functionality and performance (which you covered very well in an earlier video). For me, if the REIN had a better or standardized switch, I'd just buy it. But it doesn't, so I'm going back/forth comparing total price (including switch and mount) and functionality.

I respect Surefire, and I also think Streamlight does a heck of a good job at a good price point. Regarding the M7, we are putting those on pause while we work out a better attachment system. The "belt lock" doesn't live up to our expectations regarding quality. We have some ideas for a better attachment system, one that we will build in house. Stay tuned!

I think the winner here is the customers that buy any of them. It is dark 50% of the time, and the crazies of the world are not afraid of the dark. Have a light, train with it (even if you have nowhere to live fire in the dark, you can dry fire in the dark) and be responsible.

Long story short I had a mch hc edc and mch duty. Every light flickered. It's a huge problem in their fb page group. 3 posts daily about their light flickering. Cloud kept sending out tail caps. That was just a bandaid to a bigger design flaw in their lights. 2 months later they would flicker again.
Funny I was on a call clearing a house with 2 other officers. I had to stop and fart arohmd with the duty light to get it to stop flickering. Had to unscrew it take the battery out and fart around to get it to not flicker anymore.
That was the last straw for me. I got all new tail caps and sold the lights off. That's whete I draw the line. Been a flashlight enthusiast for years and none of my other lights do this. Something to do with the battery not making full contact in the light there for the flicker. I believe the batteries are too short. They need to figure their crap out
