I just purchased the black sheath a few weeks ago. It definitely has good grip! It took me a week to get used to the design overall, although I know it is designed to be minimalistic. Nice case, in my rotation, great comparison video!
I have both. I prefer the Synthesis just because of the grip. I’m not a fan of the camera cutout but it is what it is. If the Sheath had the grips on it I would be using it more.
My only complaint with the sheath is damn that thing is heavy. If they could keep the exact same pattern and design but just make it thinner, then it would beat ANY case
What is the benefit of the synthesis of they are both the same drop rating? I'm struggling to see how it's more rugged if the drop protection is the same rating
Thanks for another honest review 👍🏻 I personally bought the Sheath case in black for my 14 Pro based on your review and it feels very premium but I have to admit I have several different cases that I like to swap between just because I love having different options
thank you for a thorough comparison. Exactly what I was looking for. I love the look of the sheath. Do wish it had a bit stronger magsafe ring, but doesn't seem like much of a deterrent.
One question for those of you that have owned a sheath. Does it hold up to drops and such. . . asking for those of us who have the dexterity of a toddler. 😬
I appreciate the stronger magnets on the Sheath but that made the case much thicker on the back! Previous iteration (13 Pro) it was nicer and slimmer albeit slightly weaker magnets. Thus I prefer Synthesis this time for 14 Pro.
I had the Sheath, way back in the days when everyone was making a fuss about the "Camera Hump" on the 6s. Nowadays, there's nothing that would tempt me to spend what to me is a fortune on that monstrosity on the back of the 14 Pro. A friend has just bought one and can't lay/use his expensive phone on a flat surface without it wobbling all over the place. My Pixel 6a, by way of contrast has this issue solved, with the "Camera Bar." I've tried a number of cases and none of them "wobble." That said, the Sheath was one of the best fitting cases I had on the 6s!
I ordered a Sheath and Synthesis to get free shipping and then returned the Synthesis when I realized I liked the Sheath more. They have easy free returns.

Hi may I ask, is the camera lip raised?
Does it offer good protection?
I love them both, and bought both. I give the edge to Synthesis with its wobble resistant camera hump and grippy sides.

Oh trust me, I’m the same way! The Sheath is in constant rotation with about 3 others
@@RoyFlorez lol I have like six cases and I only have had the phone for about 3 months thanks for making me feel somewhat normal 👍🏻
Nice review!!! Does the phone slide around on a table if laid face down? Thanks 🙏

I got the sheath for my 14 pro max and I love it.

I have had a sheath on my past two phones. They work perfectly fine for drops from about chest height.

So the sheath is a thick case and Synthesis a slimmer one? I want the slimmest and I don't know what to choose.
Does the case lip over the screen? it looks pretty flush in the video

I have the Synthesis. As advertised.
I really want to try a sheath. I should just order it lol
It’s a great case!
@@RoyFlorez is the sheath your favorite case?

Bought Sheath, not really grippy as expected
Interesting because I love the grip
