In 98% of the countries that have VAT, it is included in the end-user price tags. Having a stupid system in USA, is just that, specially stupid, and only in USA. Qatar, UAE etc do not have VAT, so that is of course not applicable at all. Nothing new for people who have visited more than one country, even in the GCC area. Most other counties have good health care, without having to have a special insurance. For an U.S. person, these all sound weird and somehow "Qatar special", but again, 98% of the countries have that. It seems you haven't seen a single country outside of your home town, and some restricted Qatar tiny areas. For claiming that "coming to work here, gets your passport confected", that is complete BS. Anybody not coming to dp slave labor, will keep their passports, just like everywhere else. If you think all/most other people visiting Qatar are coming to do physical labor, you haven't seen anything there. It seems you were working with some place that offers you McDonalds, and does not suggest you to go outside of your own perimeter, all inside of their compound. Phew! You might want to see other countries too, and then make these Qatar-videos. Qatar is boring and still quite restricted. And again, Qatar does not have too much oil. It has gas, which the biggest field is shared with Iran. UAE does not have oil either, but there are ways to make any shipment of oil to get a "UAE oil" label, money laundering is very important. For Qatar, two days is enough, the museum of Arabic Arts, and the museum of Modern Art. The stuff in this video are less than what people know after 4-5 days of Qatar. But again, being in a restricted compound, only seeing a McDo, it does not translate to any experience of any kind, anywhere in the world.

I find the video truthful as my passport was also held when I worked there. Although it is a natural gas rich country, it also provided oil. I'm not from US, so I don't look at McDonalds as everything. Just being straight honest.
