Yeah......and now hes a dumb-ass who can act a bit selfish (at least that is what I got from the two episodes I watched before I banned myself from watching the new series)
I think it was the same in the original cartoon, seem to remember Splinter being the only one able to hand Shredder his a$$.......except on one episode where Leonardo comes up against the Shredder and defeats him after suffering from a huge bout of self doubt on being a worthy leader. Also one of the reasons why I've always considered Leo the best fighter out of the turtles...and in the movie hes the only one to injure Shredder in the battle on the roof top.
That film was solid and I really enjoyed the vibe, but the story and bad guy was just too dull. Winters just isn't a good replacement for Shredder, and it felt lacking in that department. However, it 100% deserved a sequel and continuation in that style.
It came out when I was very young and I watched it on repeat all the time. I love it to this day and is my favourite behind or just in front of the 1990 movie. The design is amazing and the turtles are great!
@@Syklonus Agreed. The villains wanted to be separate from Shredder but the main stone general had costumes look like the Shredder's. The story felt more like something you would see on tv than in the theaters. Still a great design though.
i love 2003 version, because it was going places remember that episode when Donatello stuck in alternative future where Shredder won? or when Stockman regained his body but started hallucinating his mother?
2012 is my favorite due to master splinter being so over powered. When this dude left the joined the fight there was no stopping him. I was like uh oh, you got master splinter out the lair. I also how you can possibly rank all of the characters due to their multi-fighting duels.
I am only 14, so I grew up with 2012 and it was my favourite, I see nothing wrong with it, the story telling is perfect, they made the origin make some kind of sense, and the design in my opinion was insane. Every season had been awesome and I was pretty bummed when it was cancelled. My favourite version for sure.
same tbh. i also grew up with it and it's just so good. the turtles feel so real, like actual teenagers would act, but without being to childish. the space travel is a bit weird now that i look back on it, but i loved it when i was younger.
@@evilsizer4428 I'm 26 and I grew up with the 2003 and 2007 iterations, and even with Rise's controversy I can say the same, I'm glad kids and teens are still into the turtles.
The 2012 series was perfect. It was a great balance of distinct character development, interesting stories while also remaining funny and not taking itself too seriously, while also having some fantastic fight choreography. It was a perfect and unexpected gem when it came out.
I wouldn't say it was perfect, there were definitely some filler episodes that kinda wasted time but that's literally my only nitpick with the series, it's my all time favourite and I'm glad it still gets some love :)
2012 was a brilliant series, and in my opinion the very best tv version of the Ninja Turtles. The show was so creatively done, using different animation styles depending on the situation (dream sequences, referencing different media like comics and old cartoons) It was funny most of the time but when things got serious, they got se-ri-ous, which made it more impactful emotionally. I mean, they killed Splinter of, twice! On screen! There were pop culture references that were relevant to both kids and adults and we got the most badass version of Splinter, maybe only surpassed by the IDW version, which was way overdue. I love kind, wise Splinter but this version knel how to kick ASS. This show was brilliantly written and it will take a whole lot to surpass this show.
Exactly, and the designs might be one of my personal favorites. They actually looks and act like teenagers, which I feel gets left behind sometimes despite the franchise being called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Rottmnt wasn’t that bad on its own, but it’s not a great adaptation of TMNT. Like, it’s not the turtles we’re looking for.
@@joshuaadamafio9898 Not going to lie, the character design is the reason I've never watched the show. It just looks lazy. The turtles have hardly any curves or shape to them, to the point where their toes don't even look like toes. The feet look like a hoof with lines drawn on it. My thinking is, if they're going to be that lazy with the animation, how lazy are they going to be with the casting or writing?
@@chicgeek3848 you said it bro, shredder was such a badass in the 2003. He was so scary and he would always remove a body part from Baxter stockman every time stockman failed him.
I love tmnt 2012 the most. The voice casting were perfect, the character have there own unique voice. While other show voice acting were quite similar which it make me confuse which turtles speak. Again this is my thought and opinion.
There were a few things I disliked about it. Casey's design & characterization. Bishop being an utrom instead of a government agent protecting the earth. 2003 Stockman was a threat. Egocentric but a threat. 2012 was a bumbling idiot. Hun went from being his own character to a clone of Bruce Lee.
Dude, the redesigns of the rise turtles are awesome!! You can get a sense of their personalities and they don’t all look the same!! I feel like people’s complaint with it is that it’s “different” and they treat that as a criticism.
My personal Top 5 are: 1. 2003 (most accurate to the original comics) 2. 2012 (very well-written) 3. 1990 (nice combo of 1987 and comic) 4. 1987 (iconic) 5. 2007 (Better conclusion to the original movies than Turtles in Time. Yes, it was in the same series.)
Funny part is that as a fan of the 1987 series, I always reluctantly jump into the newer series thinking it's going to suck. It happened 2003 and 2012. The true fact is that the Turtles are usually done right in the animated TV realm. I hated when they de-aged April, then I loved the move at the end.
My top 5. 1. 2003 - I grew up with it, and they're my personal ideal turtles. 2. 1990 - Just about as perfect as it gets, Bay's turtles don't even come close. 3. 2012 - I didn't like this series when it first started, but I began to like it a LOT as the show went on. 4. 1987 - Classic, and they continue to stay relevant. 5. 2007 - Highly underrated in my opinion. The designs were great, and the voice acting was superb. Just wish it had a better story.
I know this came out 3 years ago but Rise has definitely improved from #6. The animation is GOD TIER, the best in the series. The comedy, could use some more work, yes. But it has comedy, it has feels, it has *family.* Family is a HUGE aspect of that show and it has, what I would say, the best brother system of any of the shows. No one is picked on as much or is always the butt of a joke. They feel like ACTUAL BROTHERS. Rise has found a special place in my heart. And yes, I have seen other ninja turtles content. It's just my personal favorite, but I respect everyone else's opinion!
To me Rise is good because it is as comedic and lighthearted as the 1987 turtles (except for Season 8 [red sky seasons] onwards where they got more serious).
Personally I rate 2003 higher than 1987 or 2012. 1987 was pretty good, for first two or three seasons. Then it just turned into a cash grab… 2003 and 2012 had far better characterization and story telling, but I find the more mature tones of 2003 suiting story centered style more. Sure the last two seasons were wonky, but when you look at the over arching narrative from season 1 to 5, you can forgive the ones that came after. Plus what comes to 2012 when you rewatch it, you start to notice how much meandering and filler there is. On top of that, the things with Karai, Splinter, and Shredder, kept going in circles over and over again, until the very end. I guess the producers were afraid to change the status quo, so it wasn't until the last seasons when they knew the show was gonna be over soon, were the writers allowed to change things up a bit.
honesty I feel as if 2012 and 2003 are the best written ninja turtles but the problem with 2003 was when they went to the future and came back it honestly made me think less of it and the 2012 series needed better animation like theirs times where its clean but at other times it kinda looks like shit
2003, 2012 all the way. Raph is my favorite Turtle but I love Mikey the best in the 2012 . Great voice casting. I really like Sean Astins voicing Raph in particular. I think Donnie and Leo sound similar in the 2003 version.
Cartoon wise, my favorites are the '12 and '03 versions. I grew up with the '03 series and it was amazing, but the '12 series was awesome and it went the extra mile for emotions and it connected the history of Splinter and the Shredder deeper in spite many ways.
I feel the same way. Even though I like the 03 version more, I like how Splinter IS Hamoto Yoshi and not a pet rat. It just brings a more interesting backstory and drama.
WTF? 2003 BETTER, THEN 87and 12 It's more deep, it's got a good, and grammar wrote characters. Let's take a Splinter fr sample. In 87, he is very poor and zero character, he always needed a help. He can't do nothing. In nick version, he is very cool, ok, he really brutal, but in the '03 Splinter is balanced, he gives a help for turtles, and turtles gives help him. Because he is old age. Raph's voice in 2012-is perfect, it's your opinion, but as a character, he is just a mad and badass turtle, during in '03 Raph is a turtle, that looks mad, and when he see, that his brothers in trouble, he forget for a moment everything, trying to help them. And...Mikey-in nickelodeon version he is just a dumb, he is really strange in that adoptation, in demension x-he is know everything, but he didn't know about this demension, and it's sucks! In 2003-, he is just play a fool, joking, because he is free, and he doesn't want to be a leader, he knows, he does not need it, looking for Raph, or Leo. I know, season 6 and 7-is a mistake. But from first to fifth-it's not empty, it's very interesting, and awesome.
tmnt 2012 mikey was not dumb he save his brothers many times and he saved everybody in season 5 3 out of 6 arcs he was just lost at times so be quiet he that same silly goofy mikey.
I gotta say that I love the 2012 version the best. I love that the turtles have individual looks and personalities and that they are designed to look like actual teenagers. Any other version I've seen before them lacked that touch in my opinion.
@Samarpit Makwana no I haven't. I don't care much for live action turtles. I find them too goofy looking but I'm happy that that movie left an impact on a lot of kids because turtles are awesome
The 2003 turtles are a little older than the other iterations. In the 2003 they are around 16 years old in the first season and 18 years old in the last season. While in the other iterations they are either 15 years old or less than that, like in Mutant Mayhem where they look like they are in their 12 or 13.
i know alot of ppl don't like the 2012 series, but to me, i really like them, the stories are great, the dialogue is good, the action scenes are great. They are my favorite so far. It could be because i watched the entire series with my son and he loves it, it was fun watching this together with him so maybe that is the reason. But yeah, 2012 for me.
In my opinion TMNT 2012 is the best out of all the TMNT versions. I’ll say TMNT 2012 has probably the best fight scenes, storytelling , character development, positive messages, and 3D Animation out of any cartoon.
11) Next Mutation 10) Ninja Turtles 3 9) TMNT Out of the Shadows 8) TMNT 2014 7) TMNT Secretary of the Ooz 6) Rise of the TMNT 5) TMNT 2007 ( sorry I just love the designs and landscapes in this movie) 4) TMNT 1990 3) TMNT 2012 2) TMNT 1987 1) TMNT 2003
Going to be the rare new opinion that Rise is my absolute favorite. The reimagining makes it understandably hard for most of the fandom, but it's a lot more respectful than people give it credit for. The biggest factor is that while silly, our plots do have foreshadowing now, the new characterization have depths beyond the standard brothers' formula (while having elements of classic if you know where to look), Splinter's lore surprising everyone and becoming a fandom favorite. And best of all, it doesn't solely focus on Raph and Leo, which is great for people who have Donnie and Mikey as favorites. Fight scenes are the best they've ever looked, being better than most movies. The brothers absolutely adore each other (my biggest issue with the other new gen turtles where they mostly bicker) and I look forward to their training. I do hope someday this iteration will become beloved too. My other favorites are Mirage, 1990, and 2003, the ones I haven't tried yet are Mutation and Bayverse, good list.
Fun fact for the TMNT original movie the cast members took home parts of the Ninja Turtle costumes. Some cast members took home a hand, some took home a foot, one guy even took home one of the Turtle heads, but according to some of the cast members, it's been so long that parts of the costume started turning into dust, so pretty much the original Turtle costumes met the same fate as half the Marvel heroes in Avengers Infinity War
The 1990 movie is my favorite. As far as shows, 2003 is my favorite. The scene of Leo decapiting Shredder had me with my mouth open for minutes. It completely redeemed the 87 cartoon and what happened to it because of the producers cutting down the action and violence.
So imma be honest before watching rise when it first came out I hated it, like I like the designs of the characters but everything they did with characters personality wise, no. Then one day cause I was bored I decided to watch and omfg does it get good!!! The characters develop so much, they become so much more than “the leader, tough guy, suffer dude, etc.” and like Ik everyone complains about splinter but honestly this is my favorite splinter! Also with Raph being the leader I noticed and feel like theyre building up to Leo eventually taking over that role, ANYWAY rise is amazing my personal favorite and you all should at least give it a try! :)
i have. its great. can`t say it better than the other two shows that come before it ( maybe the 80s since the real reason why that series was created was to sell toys. plus, rise is funnier ), but it doesn`t have to be
@@Liam-jy7yi Ironically, this April is one of if not my favorite. I think I love her interactions with the turtles the most out of all the other Aprils.
2012 is my personal favorite. I avoided checking it out for years then finally binged all 5 seasons and was blown away. I'm a big fan of the IDW comic books and this show hits it extremely close. It has that perfect mix of darkness, humor and action. Great storytelling and definitely the most action we have ever seen from Shredder in terms of him actually scrapping. I dig the designs of the Turtles too, I don't like when they're gigantic. My second favorite is the 1990 film and 3rd is 2003. 2003 might have been my favorite but I hated the Shredder plot twist so much.
The 2003 TMNT turtles are my favorite they are a prefect combination of the comics and the other turtles media before and as a kid i didn't mind the last 2 4kids TMNT series fast forward and back to the sewers so nostalgic gonna go rewatch this series again
2012; because I grew up watching that show it had great animation, the best character development, amazing voice actors, and I really like the fact that April got to fight people too. My only problem with it was Casey’s design.
I legimately liked the 2007 movie, I don't know if it's nostalgia, but I consider it a preety fun movie, and was the reason I liked the Ninja Turtles with the 2003 series when I was a child.
Except that Raph is literally nothing like Raph. He lost his personality. Lol. And Leo got super immature when he’s not supposed to be. I do like Donnie the most in this version but other than him I think Raph is the worst in this version.
@@CallumStudiosOfficial Fair enough. Lol. Definitely love what they did with Donnie in that aspect. They made him a softshell turtle so he always has a battle shell on to protect him.
ShawnChrystafur dude i seriously agree 100% because the rise of turtles now is a joke and now there not even all the same species and now it goes raph,Don,Leo, Mike when is supposed to be leo raph don mike and there all red earded sliders but i still think 2012 is the best
My favorite will always be the 2003 series. I loved the darker tone that felt more accurate to the comics. And because of how much I loved it I went back and watched the original series which I also loved. But when the 2012 series started... I was very disappointed about everything... I stopped watching after a few episodes but still gotta give credit to them for balancing it between the 1987 and 2003 series
2012 gets crazy dark FYI. I am not saying every episode is great, they are not. But, the overall story arcs, and the personal feel between Splinter and Shredder has never been matched in my opinion. 2003 was mostly good though.
Funny thing is as close as they were characterizarionwise to the comics they actually MET the original comics versions and got their asses handed to them, one of the og comic turtles even one shoted the entire 1987 quartet, and one lampshaded a trope of the villains talking too much he just kicked 2003 shredder when he was babbling too much og blaxk and white turtles were badass.
As someone who grew up with TMNT 2003 and 1987 i can proudly say tmnt 2012 is better than tmnt 2003. Tmnt 2012 stayed true too. They were both funny and serious. Not to mention even mirage comics gets goofy after each issue.
2003 show is objectively best TMNT adaptation. It follows original comics, but still has its own character such as Hun, Bishop and Mystics which makes it stand out. 2012 got really weird with Donnie/April romance, weird Casey and Hun designs and too much focus on April in general.
@@clawspider6305 same her an di was born in 2005 so yea when i say it i loved watching mike use nunchucks literally taught me how to use nunchucks i begged my grandma to by me some and she di then i watch non stop mike fight sence and now im really good at using them
AmaneTsukasa 15 I’m just asking is it really that bad for someone to like something? It’s ok if you don’t like rise of the tmnt i just don’t get why you’re saying “oh no” for
Honestly, I think the 2003 series should've beaten the 1987 show just a little bit... but granted, 1987 is the show that started it all. 2003 tmnt's story was and still is to me, capable of some of the saddest/scariest writing possible. Besides, they had Peter Laird (one of the original creators of the turtles) as their creative consultant in the 2003 series.
I agree, the story didn't sugar coat anything. The turtles knew that they could die when facing off the shredder at the end of season 3. They gave one of the turtles an existential crisis that on a rerun of the series that I'm undergoing is a lot better placed than I had thought. I think I might be putting too much thought into it though. But from a writing perspective and from a writers perspective I think that it is the best series as well.
They had a whole season banned, (season 5) which was aired online. And the "same as it never was" hit me hard. The writers weren't afraid to put stuff in and I loved it
@@ymbandz4466 lies. Each season reflected a level of emotional growth with them. Leo went from naive to serious and self critical. Don was more than just a genius. He was the voice of reason. The nurturer. The one who kept the group balanced as shown in Same as it Never Was. Raph had an anger problem. But they expanded on it. The series follows him trying to deal with it. He almost killed Mikey out of rage. Mikey is the comic relief. But it's revealed he's the most talented amongst his brothers but won't reach his full potential cause of his short attention span. Baxter Stockman is later revealed to have led a life of crime after losing his mother. Something the 2012 version didn't have. He was a clumsy, bumbling idiot. Casey is also revealed to have become a vigilante after the purple dragon killed his father.
@@DTownNash exactly they're supposed to be teenagers but develop like grown men. there is character development but the 2012 one was more natural and realistic.
2003 was by far the best to me as a kid i used to watch every episode. It always had me in tuned and had great dialogue and character development. it had great action and music choices as well as keeping you in tuned with whats going on.I can see if you like the 2012 version but i didn't grow up watching that and every-time it came on i was uninterested.
i love this list you know exactly what you're talking about and the ranking system is somewhat correct i do however feel like tmnt 2003 is better than 1987
I actually genuinely enjoyed Fast Forward! Getting to see Casey's and April's legacy live on in the form of a cinnamon bun like Cody made me super happy, however I'm sad it was cut prematurely since they had at least six more episodes planned. I do agree Back to the Sewers wasn't my favorite by any means, but Cody will always have a special place in my heart, as will the gritty/dark earlier versions of the 2003 turtles.
For the movies, my personal favorite is the very first TMNT movie (1990). For the series, I pick the 2003 series. It is not only about the character designs but also what I really liked is the dark theme in both adaptations. In addition to this, both were closely adapted from the Mirage Comic Book Series.
@@HappyBob123 it was a pretty good twist and still even that can’t ruin the 2003 shredder such a bad ass his suit was so cool so much better than the 2012 shredder and it’s better twist then keri being splinters daughter that was so stupid
I’m glad you gave the original cartoon some love! It hasn’t aged well, but this was the cartoon that started the Turtle craze, got a whole generation truly hooked, and was very much adored at the time. It’s an iconic series.
For me it's a tossup between 2003 and 2012 both are so good but I think I'm gonna give the edge to 2003 because I grew up with that one. 2012 has the best Splinter design though he looks so cool and Sean Astin did great as Raph in 2012.
87" takes it for me, 10 seasons of awsomeness. 2003 was also sweet, took me awhile to get used to the 2012 series but im gald i stuck with it cuz it hits most things out of the park, best splinter ever and tigerclaw is cool. turtles forever my favorite movie, and of course 1990 movie classic
The 2012 series was definitely my favorite. I know a lot of people had issues with the change in character design, but I liked them well enough. I even kinda prefer the weird 3-toed foot they had over all the other series. (Especially considering it's actually closer in line with what turtle feet actually look like: www.queensjewishlink.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/turtle-1.jpg )
If I had to rank the shows worst to best: 7: Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation (Need i say more?) 6: TMNT: Fast Forward (Never watched it, but it looks stupid) 5: TMNT: Back to the Sewer (Refer to Fast Forward) 4: TMNT 2003 (I liked it, but there's better) 3: TMNT 1987 (A true classic) 2: Rise of the TMNT (Pretty good binge. And the movie was amazing!) 1: TMNT 2012 (Grew up with it, amazing show) And the movies: 8: TMNT 3: Turtles in Time (Good god...) 7: TMNT 2014 (The sequel is WAY better) 6: TMNT 2007 (It's fun, but I miss The Shredder) 5: TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze (The tone might be lighter than the first movie, but it's still pretty good) 4: TMNT: Out of the Shadows (Did what the original TMNT 2 Didn't. Gave us, Shredder, the Technodrome, Baxter Stockman, Kraang AND Bebop and Rocksteady in the same movie. I love this movie much better than the first.) 3: Turtles Forever (How to do a multiverse crossover right. Too bad they couldn't get the original VA's back to voice the 80's turtles though.) 2: Rise of the TMNT The Movie (My god. I can't express how gorgeous this movie looks. I love it to bits, but there is one better...) 1: TMNT 1990 (Still the best adaptation of the TMNT in movie. Nothing will ever top it.)
1. RoTMNT - it feels like an epic version of tmnt in their early days and the setup and buildup and payoff of plot threaded thru the episodes(without going too heavy in all the eps) make it a fun watch. didn't think I'd like it based on the humor but it's actually pretty balanced. A bit frenetic here and there but I like how much the creators are fans themselves - it feels like any change is informed by what they know about the show. 2. 2003 - this was good and im still nostalgic for it 3. first movie - loved the costumes/animatronics and definitely made me a bigger fan as a kid than before 4. 1987 (I just have nostalgia w this one and its what got me into tmnt) 5. does TMNT and Batman movie count? 2012 was ok, but got sorta weird to watch with how April got the short end of the stick with a lot of plot. Got a little too heavy with 'intense' plots. Still, made by fans for fans, so it was cool to watch for a while.
I actually really enjoy the 2014/16 films! Not for the plot of either of them, those are hit or miss for me and I understand why some fans are weirded out by their designs. I consider the 2016 film one of my unironic favorites out of any version of the TMNT, because it's FUN. Is is the best written thing ever? No, of course not. But damn if it isn't fun to watch.
I grew up on the 2012 (i'm only 20, haha, so I don't really have any bias for the earlier versions), so when Rise came out, I had that gut reaction of absolute refusal to give it a chance. I was partial for the 2012 version because of nostalgia, but recently I watched all of rise and dude, I definitely like it way better than 2012. I love the different designs and the fact that they are different species. I love the humor and writing, and I am so upset about the cancellation. I have a newfound love for the franchise so i'm going to watch the other series and movies and see if I can form some more opinions about the other versions.
2012 is my number 2 show 2003 is my number 1 show 2007 is my number 1 movie Here's why: I was born in 2004 and my nephew and I watched every episode of TMNT 2012 and instantly fell in love. The story, the fighting, when their eyes turned white, SPLINTER, and SHREDDER all all reasons why that show is my # 2 2003 is my number 1 because of how dark the show is. I personally love the designs of them and how each episode went. The same as it never was episodes and the episode Insane In The Membrane are by far the most memorable. NOT TO MENTION fast forward which still had the TMNT fun while also having dark elements. Back To The Sewer was also really good, also the many versions of Shredder got more and more dark, psychotic and all around amazing. 2007 is my favorite movie because of the look, the fighting, the story. The villain is meh and so is Splinter's design(I think he looks like Chester the Cheetah). But the reason why it tops the list is the family dynamic. They all act like teenagers and they are doing normal teenage things, Raph is rebellious, Leo is the good kid, and Donnie and Mikey have their own jobs/business. Also need I mention the ICONIC Leo vs. Raph fight?! Those are my pics and reasons ☺
Looooved the 2012 Nickelodeon series, nostalgic, well written, so many callbacks to the original and the voice actors along with Andrea Romano's wisdom just my favorite equal to the original in my book and the original movie is amazing up there with dinner Superman and Tim Burton Batman!!!
I would’ve gone 1. 2012 series 2. 2003 series 3. TMNT 2014 movie 4. TMNT 2007 movie And I’m not sure after this but I know I’d put TMNT: Out of the Shadows after number 5 and ROTTMNT around 7-10😝
2003 TMNT was the best of the new ones. 2012 turtles were alright but lacked a bit of stuff, were childish and had storylines just copied from 2003 turtles, which is why they literally re-ran 2003 tmnt on nick before showing the new eps of 2012. 2003 for the win.
While I think that it is a tad childish the turtles are kids and ultimately it is a kids show. I do love this series and have analysed it there are some similarities between the 2003 and 2012 seasons but mostly I think they worked around it by keeping the stuff between the foot clan and the Hamato clan as mostly a family debate. Seriously how twisted do you have to be before you kill your sister in law and believe you've killed your brother, raise their daughter to hate your brother and then when you find out your brother is alive 16 years later hunt them down to the other side of the world and then go through hell trying to kill your nephews because you believe that your brother wronged you when you were in fact in the wrong. And then you still have your criminal empire to run in between all that and also aliens are trying to mutate the planet and the turtles are just a bunch of kids who got cocky and spilled mutagen everywhere so there are a bunch of mutants running around New York and no one has ever seen them.
guts on the mic it did actually copy 2003, that why they showed all the 2003 episodes twice before showing those that copied it. I'm not saying they difnt makr the storyline their own but they did copy. Like with the time girl and savanti Ramiro, that was very similar with some eps. And the the rabbit samurai guy, and the ending whrre they cut off shedder's head, that was from the 2003. Even the triceraton that was like their friend cause he lost his memory was something like 2003. So I'm not saying they didnt have their own stories or even make some into their own, but they did play off of 2003. I always felt like 2012 was a bet meh in some areas, especially since nick make it a bit weird at points and a bit too childish then trying to amp up to mature fights on occasions.
I'd love to see you make a video series of worst to best for the main characters that would be awesome! For instance who's the best to worst Shredder! It could be based on design, skill, personality, and more! :) keep up the good work!
2012 version.......ya you don't know what your talking about the thing that makes it my favorite TMNT series is that they....did....their....RESEARCH! and not only did they so it, they did it THEROLY! For someone who has watched the original movies and the original cartoon it was like going on an Easter Egg hunt every episode IT WAS AMAZING!!!
@@DieselDuckFan2001 duh cuz there is a thing called "filler".......let's see if my memory serves me right, Season 2 ended with the turtles going to the farm house correct? And we got a whole season at the house. While I agree that season was quite boring to watch it still followed the pattern of the first TMNT movie in 1990 (#1) and that to me will always be the original story to me. Yes I know the first cartoon series came before that AND the comic books existed before that BUT the movie was the best version of the turtles ever..........back to my point it followed the story of the movie and honestly the spirit quest they went on was one of my favorite story in the whole show. There is such a thing as "interesting filler"
I never mentioned filler, I just felt like the storyline became a jumbled mess after Season 2/3. Nothing was consistant, you could tell the writers were making up the story as they went along, and many things were confusing. It just felt like a lot of the content was forced and didn't flow very well. I didn't like Seasons 3-5 too much, they were okay but not as good as the first two seasons.
@@DieselDuckFan2001 .....because they were filler.......that's the very definition of filler episodes right there. Episodes and story's the writers throw in there to make the shows run time longer They don't have to make a whole lot of sense they just get thrown in there like the whole shredder coming back as a Muntant story, that was filler, the whole space season was filler, and the very last season.......I wanna say it's season 6 but it may just be 5, was just filled with filler episodes and stories...........and I liked the space season 🙁
Dude, I don't really care for filler episodes. As long as if it is a good episode, and well written, I have no problem with it. A lot of Season 3-5 however, in my OPINION, was not well written. I just didn't like what they did. The April storyline was completely jumbled up and got less and less consistent, so did the space arc. The numerous amount of unresolved storylines and mysteries and character derailment wasn't pleasing. I know this also happened in the 87 series, with many unresolved storylines such as Mona Lisa, the fate of the Mutapunks, Scrag's mutation, Tokka and Rahzar, HiTech's demise, Krang's body, but those elements were very minor compared to the storyline of the 2012 series. I'm just stating my opinion, and I felt like the show went downhill after Season 2. Season 1 was great and Season 2 was even better. Seasons 3-5 however, I felt were not as strong as the first two.

the 2012 master splinter was an absolute badass. he doesnt step in action that often, but when he does, then oh boy, your in for an asswhopping
Yeah he was my favorite splinter.
Remember how fast he fucked up leather head?made it look easy too
2003 did the same.
The 2007 movie was fantastic to me! They truly acted like “Ninja”, and that Raph vs Leo fight is ALL TIME classic!
That film was solid and I really enjoyed the vibe, but the story and bad guy was just too dull. Winters just isn't a good replacement for Shredder, and it felt lacking in that department. However, it 100% deserved a sequel and continuation in that style.
Changes can be good but the changes in ruse are terrible.
It came out when I was very young and I watched it on repeat all the time. I love it to this day and is my favourite behind or just in front of the 1990 movie. The design is amazing and the turtles are great!
I love the movie but it gets kinda boring and dull sometimes.
@@Syklonus Agreed. The villains wanted to be separate from Shredder but the main stone general had costumes look like the Shredder's. The story felt more like something you would see on tv than in the theaters. Still a great design though.

2012 is awesome tho
I found the 2012 version having a really good Mix of charm and action

2012 is my favorite due to master splinter being so over powered. When this dude left the joined the fight there was no stopping him. I was like uh oh, you got master splinter out the lair. I also how you can possibly rank all of the characters due to their multi-fighting duels.
Ik right only Shredder rivaled him
I am only 14, so I grew up with 2012 and it was my favourite, I see nothing wrong with it, the story telling is perfect, they made the origin make some kind of sense, and the design in my opinion was insane. Every season had been awesome and I was pretty bummed when it was cancelled. My favourite version for sure.

I agree, 2012 is still by far, the best adaption.

I agree
Agreed brudda, that show was like my childhood
Yeah
I can't believe it didn't get a higher spot just because of the design

There were a few things I disliked about it. Casey's design & characterization. Bishop being an utrom instead of a government agent protecting the earth.
2003 Stockman was a threat. Egocentric but a threat. 2012 was a bumbling idiot.
Hun went from being his own character to a clone of Bruce Lee.

Dude, the redesigns of the rise turtles are awesome!! You can get a sense of their personalities and they don’t all look the same!! I feel like people’s complaint with it is that it’s “different” and they treat that as a criticism.
my fav designs aren't from any show, but from a short called Don vs raph, I think is a good mix between same and different
My personal Top 5 are:
1. 2003 (most accurate to the original comics)
2. 2012 (very well-written)
3. 1990 (nice combo of 1987 and comic)
4. 1987 (iconic)
5. 2007 (Better conclusion to the original movies than Turtles in Time. Yes, it was in the same series.)
Agree
and true the 2012 series in my opinion had the best writing
Funny part is that as a fan of the 1987 series, I always reluctantly jump into the newer series thinking it's going to suck. It happened 2003 and 2012. The true fact is that the Turtles are usually done right in the animated TV realm. I hated when they de-aged April, then I loved the move at the end.

FLAGG Entertainment agreed!!
My top 5.
1. 2003 - I grew up with it, and they're my personal ideal turtles.
2. 1990 - Just about as perfect as it gets, Bay's turtles don't even come close.
3. 2012 - I didn't like this series when it first started, but I began to like it a LOT as the show went on.
4. 1987 - Classic, and they continue to stay relevant.
5. 2007 - Highly underrated in my opinion. The designs were great, and the voice acting was superb. Just wish it had a better story.
Exactly my opinion. I would only switch 2012 and 1987
Bro same but to me 1987 were better tnan 2012
2012 is my #1
2012 all the way
Personally I put 1990 movie as number 1 & 2003 animated series as number 2.
I know this came out 3 years ago but Rise has definitely improved from #6.
The animation is GOD TIER, the best in the series.
The comedy, could use some more work, yes. But it has comedy, it has feels, it has *family.*
Family is a HUGE aspect of that show and it has, what I would say, the best brother system of any of the shows. No one is picked on as much or is always the butt of a joke. They feel like ACTUAL BROTHERS.
Rise has found a special place in my heart. And yes, I have seen other ninja turtles content. It's just my personal favorite, but I respect everyone else's opinion!
Rise is my favorite one too, i really liked its artstyle
The movie was 🔥🔥🔥
@@ZayTh3God yeah it was better than the show
To me Rise is good because it is as comedic and lighthearted as the 1987 turtles (except for Season 8 [red sky seasons] onwards where they got more serious).
HORRIOR

WTF?
2003 BETTER, THEN 87and 12
It's more deep, it's got a good, and grammar wrote characters.
All TMMT is good! I just personally prefer 2012 over the others!
tmnt 2012 mikey was not dumb he save his brothers many times and he saved everybody in season 5 3 out of 6 arcs he was just lost at times so be quiet he that same silly goofy mikey.

I just figured out that the tphone jingle from 2012 is the tmnt theme song and mikey hums the theme song to miwa in turtles in time
Fun fact for the TMNT original movie the cast members took home parts of the Ninja Turtle costumes.
Beast Bennett best simile I’ve ever heard
The 1990 movie is my favorite. As far as shows, 2003 is my favorite. The scene of Leo decapiting Shredder had me with my mouth open for minutes. It completely redeemed the 87 cartoon and what happened to it because of the producers cutting down the action and violence.

I HATE how 2k3 is overlooked for 2012. -_-. 2k3 actually stayed true to the comics.
As someone who grew up with TMNT 2003 and 1987 i can proudly say tmnt 2012 is better than tmnt 2003. Tmnt 2012 stayed true too. They were both funny and serious. Not to mention even mirage comics gets goofy after each issue.
@@jeffeasy2685 I think 2003 is better.
2k3 is one of the best shows of all time
That doesnt make it a better series than 2012.
2003 show is objectively best TMNT adaptation. It follows original comics, but still has its own character such as Hun, Bishop and Mystics which makes it stand out.
2012 got really weird with Donnie/April romance, weird Casey and Hun designs and too much focus on April in general.
For me the 2003 Turtles are my Childhood but the 2012 Turtles are my favorite!

For the movies, my personal favorite is the very first TMNT movie (1990). For the series, I pick the 2003 series. It is not only about the character designs but also what I really liked is the dark theme in both adaptations. In addition to this, both were closely adapted from the Mirage Comic Book Series.
My personal favorites were 2012, 2007, 2014-16, and 2003. In this order.
My favorite turtles are the 2012 turtles, probably because they're the turtles I grew up with

2: Rise of the TMNT The Movie
(My god. I can't express how gorgeous this movie looks. I love it to bits, but there is one better...)
1: TMNT 1990
(Still the best adaptation of the TMNT in movie.
2. 2003 - this was good and im still nostalgic for it
3. first movie - loved the costumes/animatronics and definitely made me a bigger fan as a kid than before
4. 1987 (I just have nostalgia w this one and its what got me into tmnt)
5. does TMNT and Batman movie count?
2012 was ok, but got sorta weird to watch with how April got the short end of the stick with a lot of plot. Got a little too heavy with 'intense' plots. Still, made by fans for fans, so it was cool to watch for a while.
Yeah
Putting the Jim Henson animatronic 90's film 3rd is down right wrong. The original comic book creator worked on that film also.
My favorite TMNT is The 2012 Version
2012 is my number 2 show
2003 is my number 1 show
2007 is my number 1 movie
Here's why:
I was born in 2004 and my nephew and I watched every episode of TMNT 2012 and instantly fell in love. The story, the fighting, when their eyes turned white, SPLINTER, and SHREDDER all all reasons why that show is my # 2
2003 is my number 1 because of how dark the show is.
2007 was the fist TMNT film ive ever watched i did like it a lil I dont like how they didnt put shredder in there
Looooved the 2012 Nickelodeon series, nostalgic, well written, so many callbacks to the original and the voice actors along with Andrea Romano's wisdom just my favorite equal to the original in my book and the original movie is amazing up there with dinner Superman and Tim Burton Batman!!!

And then you still have your criminal empire to run in between all that and also aliens are trying to mutate the planet and the turtles are just a bunch of kids who got cocky and spilled mutagen everywhere so there are a bunch of mutants running around New York and no one has ever seen them.
stfu the original comic is better
I have to disagree about it coping 2003. 2012 made it's own storylines
Not really. That comic had some good, but mostly terrible storylines compared to the 2003 and 2012
guts on the mic it did actually copy 2003, that why they showed all the 2003 episodes twice before showing those that copied it.
2012 was good but not great, it went seriously went downhill after Season 2.
Episodes and story's the writers throw in there to make the shows run time longer
They don't have to make a whole lot of sense they just get thrown in there like the whole shredder coming back as a Muntant story, that was filler, the whole space season was filler, and the very last season.......I wanna say it's season 6 but it may just be 5, was just filled with filler episodes and stories...........and I liked the space season 🙁
