Okay, the cat by the bride! I wasn’t expecting the one eyed cat by her, but the bride should have gotten a physical form. The bride deserved an animatronic at this point. Regardless of who she is.
I wish the bride had more animation to her, but at least she's better than ol' Homicide Hatchaway. I'm glad they kept the hanging body too, the narration wouldn't make sense without it. Overall, it looks good and nice to have the original show back at last. If anything feels jarring to me, it's the Hatbox Ghost, even though he's not super new. Not only is he too big, he's too close to the cars by half, and his bright yellow face is way too garish for the dark, muted tones of the area he's in. Maybe they'll tone him down someday...

The bride is absolutely an improvement over Constance, but she still looks kind of flat, as if she were projected onto a wall. Maybe she looks better in person? That's how the ride originally was. Constance Hatchaway's lines were added in 2006 to create a more obvious storyline for the mansion, but it didn't match the original concept materials. This is setting things back to being more like what was originally intended.
Kim Irvine literally said that Marc Davis’s ideas for the ride were weird and that people were celebrating the old bride cutting off heads. What’s next? Pirates won’t use guns or swords because it’s too violent?
Huge downgrade on the hitchhiking ghosts. Going from a timeless illusion like Pepper's Ghost to a digital effect that will show age within a few years was honestly a terrible decision.
Most likely, the fps of the camera and shutter speed can greatly effect how digital effects look on-screen, whereas the human eye will have a different perception (and likely a better one) of it.
Why the HECK do people keep CHATTERING when the narration starts?!? Don’t they know there are ALWAYS others in line who have NEVER heard or seen this attraction? How RUDE!!!
it feels like they kinda butchered the haunted mansion. i wish instead they bring back effects that were scrapped before the attraction even opened in 1969 like in the endless hallway, you would of felt chills and a ghost walking directly through your omnimover instead of replacing half of the physical animatronics in the ride with projections
What the hell. Disney is so incredibly lazy. The attic scene makes no sense now from a storytelling perspective. You keep 90% of the attic the same with the Constance storyline, portraits, and bridal march music but then you remove Constance and add in a random bride that has no connection with the room at the end (which truthfully looks not much better than the predecessor and way too modern [and still mannequin-esque] in a bad way). They either needed to do a killer redo of Constance to be an impressive AA (which the original was terrible… more a mannequin) - OR - redo the entire space to support a new storyline - or be similar to what was there before. Disney has become so disappointing these last few years.
This isn’t lazy. This is going back to the how the bride was on opening day of The Haunted Mansion. Constance wasn’t added until 2007. This is just the ride going back to its roots and bringing in the classic version of the character.
Do any of you guys actually read what I wrote. I know all this. I used to work there. They added all of the new effects of the attic in the mid 2000s to support the new Constance storyline. My problem is they left all of the stuff in there and they have a new bride unattached to the items which makes zero sense when you now travel through. I’m more annoyed at the fact how lazy Disney has become. Just look at that terrible she they added outside. Old Disney would have done a proper job. I actually always have liked the original beating heart bride, but this is not the way to do it.

The aesthetic of the Mansion has ALWAYS been that it's well-tended on the outside. Walt said, we'll take care of the outside and let the ghosts take care of the inside, and that's what they've done from day one to the present.
