Another rule should be you can’t use the first overhead bin you come to. Above your seat only! I was in first class and someone who was not in first class and apparently was a frequent traverler and knew the stewardess. She opened the bin and removed my carry on to put it somewhere else. I stood up and objected and boy did that ever shut it down. She put my bag back and he had to take his really large package with him to where his seat was way at the back!
The overhead bins should be open all when boarding the airplane. In my last travel I saw lot of people putting their carry on under others seats. They thought those overhead bisa full. I suggest to open all of them before boarding the plane.

I agree. One thing I hate is how at some airports the TSA people have you move through the X-ray machine even if your bag and stuff has not gone through the screening machine while at other airports, you are told to wait. Sometimes these inconsistencies result in getting yelled at.
Being forced to struggle more thanks to the airline companies who were bailed out by our tax dollars and who do all they can to make flying uncomfortable and unaffordable.
I don’t travel a lot and generally pay for luggage but when I see the size of the suitcases and amount of luggage people bring on board, yes they really need to start limiting sizes
Yes I can’t stand it. Why does everyone think that adding some free canned music throughout their video makes it more interesting. It just doesn’t. And I can’t concentrate on what the person is saying.
I think as I start on my 75th year of life my next trip to Europe this year will be my last. I lived in a time when you could stand at the fence metres away from the plane & ask to go up to the cockpit & I love travelling & flying most of all, but it's now becoming too complicated. I'll leave these new regulations & restrictions to the younger folk who will know no other way as the future unfolds.
Some incorrect things. Airlines have not standardized their sizing rules. Just look at the individual airlines websites and you will see that they still have different size requirements. Although many do adhere to the size requirement mentioned in the video, that is nothing new. The TSA has not relaxed liquid rules - just look at their website. Also, they tried relaxing the liquid rules in Europe, but abandoned it because the new technology did not perform as expected. You probably should research the points made in this video yourself, before just accepting them.
My understanding is that these rules are being ruled out in 2025, they may not necessarily have taken affect yet and been updated on all of the websites that you mentioned, but does not mean that this won’t be coming down the road this year. Look at real ID for example, they’ve said for years that it would be required for travel, but they have pushed off the effective date time and time again. I just received an email from TSA advising that real ID will be required for all travel effective May 2025. Apparently they have chosen this year finally follow through. As for 311, that too could be changing but is not yet universally accepted so the TSA has not updated their website as not all airports are participating due to the type of equipment that they use. For example, my local airport has new CT scanners and does not require that you remove your liquids, in fact they don’t ask you to remove much at all from your bag (I’ve flown from there multiple times so this was not just a one off), yet, I’ve flown from other airports including Boston, Charlotte, and Tampa that do/did require liquids, electronics, etc all be removed.
Just found out today that our United Airlines flight was booked as Basic Economy and therefore we are only allowed a personal item, not a carry-on suitcase. We always travel carry-on only and now we will have to check our bags, pay the fee and risk losing our luggage on the way to our cruise. We have a connection and I will be worried that our bags won't make the second flight. We booked the flight through an online travel agent and baggage allowances were not clearly stated on our reservation. I'm thankful that this was figured out before were at the airport as we can pay the baggage fee and not be charged a penalty and the fee at the gate!
The size limit has been the standard for major Airlines for some time now and so most of the carry-ons in the market should be compliant with the 22 x 14 x 9 inches dimension. The biggest change on this is that airlines appear to be stricter in their enforcement now than they used to.
@@whatsnextjk unfortunately many luggage manufacturers are not making compliant bags. I’ve been looking for months now for decent bag that complies. Choices are very limited.

A trick that they won't tell you is you can freeze a larger liquid and carry it on like a bottle of water, just make sure it is frozen solid before going thru security. You can also carry ice in your drinking cup and fill it after security at a water bottle fill station
The problem I have with this is that you have to wait for the bottle/ice to melt before drinking it. I just carry my empty refillable water bottle and find a filling station after going through security. That way, I always have something to sip on in between service in-flight. And to Kevinadams9468, yes, I like to have a bottle of water available even though I can "afford" a flight overseas. I suffer from dry eyes, nose, and mouth, so it is nice to have a bit of hydration without having to constantly ask a flight attendant to bring me something, and it allows them to serve other passengers, as well.

Carry on size is not new. Most domestic airlines already used those measurements and same goes for carry on weight. Most have always used 50lbs for carry on. Ironically, for most 50lb is a check in bag we limit unless a frequent flyer of some airlines you can go to 70lbs.
100% agree with FINALLY enforcing carry-on rules. I hate all of you who abuse these rules and make flights horrible. Let the cry babies cry. Less of them on our flights.

Took 2 flights over Xmas and at least on United they want carryon bags to be placed on its side in the overhead bins.

At least in Europe, allowing larger amounts of liquids has been rolled back to avoid confusion/delays until airports have upgraded scanners.
