there's a fine line between what is termed gossip and sharing because you need help and support, and may even benefit from feedback suggestions for solutions, etc. sometimes sharing can also confirm or make aware workplace bullying and harassment or discrimination, if you keep suffering in silence, you may never know the bigger picture from others views or experiences, which can then lead to resolution and better outcomes. bullies and bad behaviour can be protected and covertly continue their reign, hidden by a no-gossip culture - some naive/timid staff will never know what is repeated unacceptable treatment/behaviour if no one talks about it. there are many situations when sometimes reasonable 'gossip' can benefit staff and/or call out people and bosses breaking the law or workplace code of conduct policy, etc. which may otherwise fly under the radar and never detected until too late.
It's really good to review this video over and over! Taking time to simply define "gossip" helps to do away with it,.....or minimize it. Keep up the great work and don't let up!
I really love this series and use the concepts in my coaching strategies, but I am not comfortable sharing these otherwise fantastic videos to my racially diverse team and clients because of the overwhelming whiteness of these illustrations. Representation really matters. I can't in good conscience subject my POC teammates and clients to content that so clearly excludes them from depictions of leadership in business/non-profits.
This is a great video. I'd be so grateful for a youth-oriented version of it!
