Something I recently learned is that when chopping samples like this, i create a new program with new samples so that when i go to program edit and the sample tab, it tells me the note of each slice and i can adjust them to the note of my choosing with the semi tune option
Soon as I heard the sample, I knew what it was. I love that song. I’m waiting to see what you did with it because I made a beat with it too but the later parts. Also 9th Wonder used it. 👏🏾
When in chromatic mode the pads that are not glowing are not in scale also you can find the key of the sample by going to program edit so even when you tune the sample it gives you the correct key.
Watching this video made me realize that I still have a long way to go, to utilize the Mpc at it's fullest. I just got my live 2 a month ago, and I was happy I was creating sequences, tracks, importing and updating files. When I see videos like this, I see that you can completely make a sound your own! Nice video! Subscribed
If you wanna cheat you can use a key detection program inside of the mpc software, which does require a computer since you can't plop a vst on. Maybe they should develop an internal key detection vst for people who make sample sequences but don't know how or can't find it themselves. Nice sample btw. Also that guitar tuner technique is the sauce, I'm definitely stealing that from you
Really good tutorial, hope to see a lot more of these. Request, if possible : I know the MPC is not really made for this, but maybe a nice challenge, a ambient/drone track tutorial. Subscribed!
I was pondering whether I should buy a Maschine+ or a MPC Live. I find Akai's workflow to be way more intuitive and powerful. Maschine's sequencer is lame in comparison.
