I would turn this house completely around and have that nice covered seating area as the back porch.

I agree, that would be so nice.

Absolutely ! The "main entrance" plus coat rack area has to be on the "road side", the living room & back porch should be the most intimate and sheltered area directed to your garden - well protected from envious views . . . .

Or go one step further and wrap the porch around the entire house. Morning coffee on the east side, while the wildlife wakes up. Evening on the west, watching the sunset. Oh, I am a dreamer.

My FAVORITE house EVER! It is absolutely perfect. Just where I would put everything. I have never seen a house I would rather live in. This is one of a kind perfection. I love it!

I love the lower level areas but in the absence of a downstairs bedroom, it certainly wouldn’t be our best choice in a home. Those big porches are so nice. 😢

Perhaps a small elevator can be installed somehow - so this home can be used by every age . . . .

@@teresal5553 The long term economic factor. A house shaped to the ideal of a sphere/dice has the best relationship of surface to cubic content. (least efforts by heating in winter or cooling in summertime)

@@kgspollux6998 I agree with a square but building a spherical home such as an Earth home leaves one a very difficult time furnishing and cabinetry with an innate inability to be put against a flat wall.

This really pulled my heart strings! But, being an oldie, I'd need to ruin it by adding a downstairs master suite.

For me personally, as much as I love the exterior look of the house, I would have to veto it. Since there is no chimney, the fireplace must not be a wood burning one. I would need either a woodburning fireplace or a wood stove as an alternate heat source, but that's just me. I'm sure that I could replace the current fireplace with one that I would require but would prefer already included. Thank you.

Its a lovely home, but I'd make it wider, for sure. There doesn't seem to be any windows you can open upstairs, and with that bathroom and the moisture, you definitely have to have to air flow.

There are plenty of porches for outdoor living, and the house contains many thoughtful features, but there is one glaring lack: there are no upper cabinets in the kitchen and no pantry to compensate.

There is a closet next to the stairs, just across from the laundry/bathroom. Could be used as pantry space.

I love the balance of rustic and sophicated style. The indoor and outdoor living area are very beautiful. The sturdy roof with a steep pitch and simple planes (no valleys), and the porches would be very good for a cabin in a snowy area. It's a good size for a vacation house. A lot of things make great sense - the laundry by the downstairs bath, having a shower there (in case someone is sleeping on the sofa, which is common in vacation houses).
Having said that, there are a few concerns:
Minor - add wall cabinets between the stove and fridge and beside the sink.
A little more serious - you wouldn't be able to get furniture up the winding stairs, so the stairs should have a landing that is not winding.
Most serious concern - many jurisdictions require each bedroom to have an emergency egress to the outdoors (usually a big window, but could be a door), and that is not just law, but also prudent. But here, the lowered porch roof is blocking the only wall where the bedroom egress windows could go. The triangular/trapezoidal fixed glass up high won't serve for egress. So here are a couple of different ideas for possible ways to make egress windows possible, though there may be other ways. Alternate 1) Move the extented porch and its lowered roof to the opposite side of the house. Somebody else said they would rather have that porch on the back anyway - or you could put a pretty door there and rename the back hall as the front entrance hall. Either way, doing that would clear the bedroom walls so they could have big windows. Alternate 2) You could cover the extended porch by extending the ridge and planes of the main roof. You could still omit the roof over the steps if you wanted to. It would be a different look, but not a bad look, I think. It could look rather grand. This would also allow egress windows in the bedrooms.

Les toilettes en bas sont indispensables, la douche n'est pas obligatoire. Dans la salle de bain, ce serait bien si les toilettes pouvaient tenir dans un petit espace. Sinon j'aime beaucoup la maison
